I checked your blog. Seems like you edited the code of theme. On your blog menu is behind the main content. But theme has no such issue with menu. It just works fine. I suggest you to use the original theme. If you want to make any changes to code, do it the child theme and with care.

I suggest you don’t edit the theme files. If you edit then whenever you update the theme, all changes will be lost.

If you edit the file, you can see the changes. You don’t need to do anything else, just edit it and upload on server. If you are not able to see the changes, then it may be because of your cache.

Theme is already updated. You can update the theme to get the page titles in h1 tags. For rel=”canonical”, you need to use Yoast SEO plugin.

Hi, I’m trying to use the 728×90 ad space next to the header logo to place a tagline, but it appears to be moved down to a ‘second line’ (see pic: http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p137/sirgregorius/Capture_zpsxweijlby.jpg). I figured it might be because the logo is too wide, but the same thing happens when I use the 468×60 ad space too. Any ideas? Thanks.

It is because of large logo size only. Even if you ad 468px add to it, the add will float to same position. You must reduce the width of logo.

I have tried to update, downloading last version, adding new theme and installing it on wordpress but it say me “installation not succesfull because there is a directory yet like /home/..../public_html/wp-content/themes/ublog/.

You can delete the theme and upload it again.
But on the old theme I have all my settings!
As I said earlier you will not lose the settings. To be on safer side you can take backup of theme options.

That is post title. You were talking about page title. In the next version you will get the post title to be h1 tag.

Yes, h1 heading is better than h2 for single posts that’s why I changed it. The update will be available today.

There is a white bar that shows at the bottom of my posts and I can’t seem to get rid of it. I know it’s connected to the posts, because if I make the background of the posts ‘transparent’ it disappears. How can I get rid of that while line? I reseted all the settings of my blog by mistake 
and now I’m having trouble getting the header looking the way I want. I had a huge banner that went all across and now I can’t seem to make it work. If I use it as a logo, it has frame around and I want it to go all across. If I use it as a header background it doesn’t show the full image. I know the image is wide enough. My url is https://www.rit.edu/academicaffairs/global/blog/ right now I have the image as a background and I can only see a little bit of the bottom of the image. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Banner image is spread all across your header. What do you want to do with banner image? I can’t see the logo.

It is not responsive because you have added huge padding to header section. What you can do is extract scholar to scholar text from your banner image and use it as logo. Then you may be able to make it responsive.
if we added small padding then the whole picture would not show, it would only show the little sliver of the image. Is there another way of doing it?

the way we had it before I messed it up was with no logo and just the header, which would go across the full width of the blog. This time when we tried to do the same it wouldn’t work, that’s why we added the padding. Is there any other way to do it besides having a background and a logo?

yes, correct.
I don’t know how you did that earlier. If you add padding to header, it will have fixed height. Background image can’t be shown fully until you set height of box or add content to it.
If you add padding and set background size as contain then image will become responsive but it will have blank space above image on smaller screens.

Also, whenever it loads new posts on the homepage rather than putting them at the bottom, it puts them at the top overlapping the old posts. Is there a way to fix this or turn off auto scroll loading and stick to pagination buttons?

When I try to activate the slider it makes basically 3 separate sliders that cycle through the same content. They’re also not even. I imagine it’s because it’s using the header image from the blog post, which is from my old blog using your GoBlog theme.

To understand your problem I need to check the issue live on your site. Can you share your URL as well?
My description earlier was bad – the problem is that the slider is fine, but not tall enough, and I’m not sure how to make the two little windows on the right show different posts than the slider.
I also noticed I only have 4 or 5 categories to choose from, when I know there are well over a dozen on my currently active blog (gregtodiffer.com). This may be a problem with the export from the old host and import onto the new host, but I’m not sure. BTW, I’m using GoBlog on my currently active blog.

If you want to show different posts on right side then you can chose different categories for slider and right side posts.

Height of images matches on both sides but you are using images with small heights. You must use larger images to make them same height.
