While I’ve had luck centering the logo through various CSS styles I’ve run across the site, I’ve found that, when I set a logo to be a certain size, it extends everything (including the header height) to be that size. (If I want the logo to be 200px high, for example, then not only is the logo 200px high, but the entire header height is, as well. Is there a way to control the header height altogether?

I just upagreded this great theme for my main website and I cannot find where is the new option “to force or disable the transparent header on a page by page basis”... Where is it ?

A little help in best practices.

1. Fiitting things on a screen

I have a black header with a menu. I created a home page with a row and a Nectar Slider. Flexible Slider Height = true Display Full Width? = true Fullscreen Slider? = true

I would like a row at the bottom of the screen to occupy 10% or height or at a fixed height to use it as a form.

I guess what I would need is a way for me to set the Nectar Slider height to 90% of height (where height=(Screen size – header height) and the row after it to 10%.

2. Best practices for guaranteeing good Mobile interface.

Sorry to ask so many questions, but you have done such a great job and because of the videos I think this may be something many people need to do well.

GREAT theme by the way! i have a lot of fun!

i am a newbie and unfortunately i have a problem with die video bg. i do not see the video bg in firefox (new version) or safari 5.0. it works well in chrome and newest safari version.

i have read the trouble shooting for video bg but with no result. maybe i have done something wrong.

i cannot find the .htaccess file in the wordpress root. so have tried to create one

i copy paste this in the file:

AddType video/mp4 mp4 AddType video/mp4 m4v AddType video/ogg ogv AddType video/webm webm AddType video/webm webmv

and i upload it via ftp. than the .htaccess file gets invisible. but nothing happend. so it it necessary to write the name of the video instead of “AddType video/mp4 m4v" ... ? or what else could be the reason? thanks in advance

I did a search and was hoping for some updated info on how to perhaps make the sticky menu at the top scroll with the rest of the page? My site shows video on the front page and it’s very hard to see the entire video between the bottom of the browser and the bottom of the sticky menu. There’s barely enough space and trying to line it up is like backing a powerboat into a slip at a marina

Would love to turn that off if possible.

I need to modify the color of the “iwt-icon” using a style.css in a child theme. But i’m not able to overwrite the parent theme important class. The child theme is loading correctly in the browser if it try to view it. Can you guide me on this please.

First of all, Salient is a fantastic theme. Simply love using. I’ve tried a few others. This is one of the easiest to use and is also feature rich.

I hit a small snag and I’m unable to solve it even after checking through the comments section.I’m a noob in wordpress design, therefore visual composer is the biggest asset for me. This is a slightly long comment for I want to be clear. Sorry about this.

Since yesterday, I have been getting this error

“Your page layout was either created with a previous Visual Composer version or you have elements/text located outside of VC rows (which could have occured if you switched into the classic editor view to make changes). Visual Composer requires all content be contained within rows to render correctly – before converting your layout to the new version, make sure to read this page”

I cloned a portfolio page had made a small update (basically inserted a row) and when I edited the page again, it started displaying this message. I’m not able to figure out why or how i can fix this. I tried going back to the older version of the page and was was hit with the same message. I tried with a different page altogether and got this again.

I have a wordpress installed in the subfolder and the site url pointing to the main site by modifying the require(’./wp-blog-header.php’) line. This, I did a day before the message started appearing. Don’t know if they have any connection.

Would you be able to helping me understand this and eventually solve this.

Greetings, my question is:

1) on the live preview we see for the HOME page different templates (LANDING PAGE, MLP, PEC, BASIC STRUCTURE, BLOG) however in the installer under the HOME templates I only find for HOME (Recent posts, Recent work, Recent work/posts, Slider Only). We purchased it assuming we would get what was advertised.

Maybe we are looking in the wrong spot.

Can you pls advise.

This theme seems very good, I have only one question before buying. Is it possible to attach an image on the nectar slider that is not the background? For example if I want a company logo over the lead text of the slider.

I have two instances of the portfolio on two separate pages (Projects page / Testimonials page).

I would like to ensure that items placed on the ‘testimonials page’ portfolio do not appear in the main ‘Projects page’ portfolio.

I have a category of ‘testimonials’ setup within the portfolio admin panel, but as I add new items, using the category of ‘testimonials’, they still appear on the ‘projects page’.

What can I do to stop the portfolio items that are intended for the testimonials page stop appearing on the projects page as well?

Do i need to use an attribute / filter?

Any direction / explanation as to how this works would be great.

There seems to be some compatibility issues between salient and the Optimizepress 2.0 plugin. This was a question that was asked before however I’m experiencing quite a few issues.

The main issues involve responsiveness of the theme – it cuts off elements of the page even when the browser size is 960 and instead of elements being full width, they are boxed off at 960 width.
