Dear Ridianur,
Beautiful theme. I love the typography. I’ve reviewed and critically evaluated more than 200 wordpress themes before narrowing it down to Alamak, Newave, Dry and Move. Alamak is my favourite because of the typographical elements. However, some of the other themes seem to be more easily tweaked.
I therefore got five pre-purchase questions which I hope that you can take the time to answer in (some) detail. It will help me make my choice, and quite possibly help other people as well.
1. What is the advantages of using the theme through Wordpress or just buying and using it as an HTML-template? Wouldn’t the HTML-version be faster in terms of loading time and more reliable in terms of stability?
2. Since the theme currently doesn’t support WPML, what would you propose as an acceptable workaround? I’d need to have three different languages up and running to suit my clients in different parts of the world. I don’t mind creating different pages for the three different languages, but I want to keep it smooth looking, user-friendly and manageable for myself.
3. Can the slider with background image in the ‘home’ section be full screen and still remain responsive? Will this work with a video background as well?
4. Is it possible to customize the order/sequence of the sections and possibly leave out sections? Goes without saying, but is it possible to change the names and sequence of the menu items accordingly?
5. Would it be possible to add two separate portfolio’s instead of using filtering? I need to make a distinction between projects, presentations and publications since I’m both and advisor a lecturer and a scholar. If this is not possible I’ll only showcase my projects and find another way to present my lectures and articles within the theme, but it would make sense to have the option of including more than one portfolio.

Hi Martin, thank you for your kind words. And im glad you like it 
1. Its all depend on your knowledge and skill for this, and what you need. In terms on loading speed, its not really have big difference on it. WordPress version still using almost the same code,plugin etc like the html version.
2. You can install the theme in different location as long its on same domain. eg. yourdomain.com , en.yourdomain.com and so on. And you can change most of the text in different language.
3. It can be done with some css tweaking. If you have keen skill for css it wont be hard to do
4. Yes you can drag/remove the section in it. And for menu, you can change the menu “name” but not the menu “link/achor”
5.Im afraid not

Thank you for your swift response. A couple of clarifications if I may.
1. Completely clear.
2. Ok that would be an option I guess. Could I then add small flags to the menu (pictures instead of text in the menu)? When you say ‘most of the text’ what are you referring to? I would expect to be able to change all text.
3. Hmmm. My CSS-skills are rather rusty, but I’m a fast learner when I have a clear goal in mind. That’ll probably work.
4. Cleared.
5. A shame, but not a disaster. This is a common limitation by most themes and templates out there…

2.I think you can do it. The easy way is by adding class to the menu and add the background image with the flag images. What i meant about most of the text, is like the title, subtitle. And the rest of it is created on custom post type content.
3. You only need to add specific height to make it full height.

So one clarification away from purchase now I hope, and you’ve earned another couple of bucks for this outstanding theme.
2. So if I create different versions of the page and install them on domain.com/en/ + domain.com/nl/ + domain.com/dk/ the titles and subtitles will remain the same? A.k.a. I can’t have “Portfolio” in English “Projecten” in Dutch and “Projekter” in Danish? I need to know exactly what the limitations are.

No, you need to install different wordpress and theme in those domain, so you can set the different subtitle & text for each of it. There is no limitation for it. Cheers

I updated Wordpress to 3.9.2, I updated the theme to 1.5.2 and I updated the plugin to 1.3. The problem now is that my portfolio doesn’work anymore!
You can see the different portfolio items and categories but when you klick on it the video will not start?
BTW: aaaaaaaaaawsome theme!

Regarding the problem,try to refresh the permalinks, go to Settings->Permalinks. Change the “Common Settings” into “Post name”(checklist). And Save that. After that you can revert it back to your own permalinks settings

Hi there,
make sure you used the h264 video codec, so the video will play on any browser. You can use any video converter to convert it into h264, or the easy ways is by uploading the video to vimeo/youtube and try to download the video using software downloader eg. internet download manage.

Thanks, I have done that now, but it dosnt work anyway.. Could it be that I have v 1.4? or maby that I have wordpress 3.9.2.? or some other settings that I need to fix?
I think the problem is coming from the video. Can you try to change the video to my own video http://ridianur.com/template/lalawora_html/brittany.mp4 and see is it working fine or not?
It did work on explorer, but not in safari..

the introduction says only directlink, but I dont know if my link is a directlink(?)

can you try to disable any plugin that doesnt included/required in this theme first. and see if it still error. The path is correct, there is no mistaken about that.
I have try o do that to, but that didnt work either..
which safari version did you use ?
I use ver 31.0
But now when I have changed back to my own video it dosnt show on explorer either, again.

Try to upload the video outside the wordpress path maybe, using ftp, because when i try to view your video directly its always tell me to download it not to view/stream it directly in browser.
It still dosnt work.. Is it something else I can do?
can you change it now so i can see is it working or not? And make sure you have deleted the browser cache and disabled any cache plugin first to see the change

There is options to add category filter on portfolio, but its limited only for homepage template custom layout, so if you want to add the category filter, try to create the homepage custom layout first. You can see the video how to creating this. I believe its pretty simple to do when you already has the content.

Hey Mate – first things first – I absolutely love this theme and I’m pretty happy with the design and the usability. But unfortunately I have one Problem.
I’ve added a Menu and the side slides – everything is perfect. But after that i decided to create a blog.
After adding a blog my whole layout is gone. all my menu entries are gone. except HOME and BLOG on the PAGE Setting i’ve set the Attributes to ALAMAK BLOG FULLWIDTH. I’m not sure if its right to parent it to the home page or not (tried both – doesn’t make a difference)
after deleting the Blog page (it’s still in trash) the layout works perfect. all menu point align in a row, but of course after clicking on BLOG it gives me a 404
any kind of solution for this?

There is 2 menus location used for this theme. the first one is for homepage (layout) and the other one is for blog and other pages. Make sure you have created menus for this both location.
And dont forget to set the right page on front page setting,

Try to upload the theme files only (alamak.zip) not the full package or try to download again the theme files only.
remember, if you have make some changes in the theme(core files), you will lost all the customization.

You can change it manually on php files.
For view details text, you can find it in homepage-slider.php,homepage-video.php,homepage-youtube.php and portfolio-loop.php inside builder folder. And find this code <span class="hov-desc">View Detail</span> For category text you can find it inside single-portfolio.php <span class="strong">Category:</span>hope this helps
