This “gauge meter” looks nice and futuristic, but it would be great if you can make it an option and we can choose to adopt it or not, because it may look a bit too advanced for some people still I think…
I mean this is a great feature for game review sites for sure, but could be too good for review sites in some other fields…

Hi Ghost, Is it possible to have only the user reviews show up instead of our own review? I want users to determine the score of whatever I post rather than myself and I wondered if this is possible so the user reviews take priority in the “gauge meter” rather than ours? For example if I have a website on food – I want the users to be able to determine the score depending on votes each dish gets – im wondering if theres an option in the theme for user reviews to take priority and stop author review (or whether this could possibly be added in a future update?).
I would definitely get this theme if thats possible ; its just doesn’t fit in with what I wish to make on a project due to that slight issue!

Hi there,
You can disable the site review score by simply not giving a score for a review and only show the user score. However it will not adopt the style of the site review “gauge meter”. This is a good suggestion and something I will look into adding in the future.

Nice theme. i wish if you add Number of columns so admin can define number of columns he want in the page and view games inside like the one in the home page

1) This is not possible by default. My thought is the user would have already seen this information on the main hub page and doesn’t need to read it again so it just takes up space. That said, it’s something I may include in the future to add a widget so it can be added to any sidebar.
2) Yes this is possible, but you need to add your post to a child category but not the parent category. There’s probably a plugin that allows more control over this though.

1) By the way, i’ve question before buy. I’m using Explicit Theme now. Is it possible to transfer my reviews from my theme to Gauge (with your theme converter). Because i’ve too many review on my site.
2) My site is not just games. It’s about movies and games. Is it possible to make movie id pages in your theme? Maybe just try different tag using or anything else?

1) The theme converter that comes with the theme will only work with one of my older review themes (ReviewIt or Score). You can use a post type convertor plugin to convert whatever post type the Explicit theme is using for reviews and convert them to pages (what Gauge uses). However review scores and page templates will need to be assigned so it may not be a smooth transition.
2) All the game related tags can be changed by the user. The theme can be used for any review content, not just games.

Yes it comes with a boxed layout.
Absolutely, your reviews can be about clothing or events. There’s no coding required, all categories and tags relating to games are set by the user these are not hard coded into the theme.

I’ve desperately been looking for a theme that is a review theme but one where the user can sort by pricing too.
I want to create a website based on people providing services in a particular sector. Having user reviews is great as that fits in with that as they can have customers review them but then I want my website visitors to be able to sort the different people based on their starting prices too – I’m wondering if this is easy to implement perhaps or difficult or could be considered in a future update if its possible?

It’s not something I’m likely to include in the theme, as it moves away from the gaming focus of the theme, but this should be fairly easy to implement if you want to include it on your site.

When creating a Review via post an option to select review as a format type is need to avoid having to write it within the page.
When writing the review does the review get posted to the front of the site when using the blog option?

Would you be updating the filtering in blogs or rank to filter by views per year per month per week?

It’s possible I will include tracking of post/page views and then offer an option to filter by most/least views, but to filter by views per month/year is a very specific request and will likely not be included in the theme itself.

Great job on developing a good looking theme. Its not hard to tell where you got your inspiration from. Hope you will keep adding functions as it could turn out to top of the line. Could you add video icons for overlay as seen on a very similar site

I’m not sure what video icon overlay you’re referring to?
Video icons are already overlayed over video thumbnails and page headers support video background with video overlays when the play icon is clicked.

Hi I am seriously considering buying your theme, but first I would like to know, though I suppose if … The part where it says PC, WII, XBOX, PS3, etc …. in the buckets are labels or categories. And I guess this can be customized. Because my idea is to do with games but not exclusively, on the question whether there can be customized. 1) Yes these are categories, you can create your own categories, these are not preset.

3) The theme comes with an extensive helpful with images, but there are no video tutorials.

User review submission is not working at the moment fresh install no plugins installed that would create a conflict.
Scratch that I was logged in as admin and could not post a user review!!! DOH!

Hi there, should not do what? Be influenced by another design? I loved what GameSpot did with their design and wanted to offer my customers something similar. It’s not a copy there’s so much that’s different not to mention the thing is entirely coded from scratch which accounts for nearly as much of the originality if not more.
