Do you have a demo login so I can see what the forums look like for a logged in user?

There is no demo login for security reasons unfortunately. The theme uses the bbPress forum plugin so you can install this plugin for free on any site and see what features a logged in user sees.
Yeah, I understand that. I need to see if I need a designer to finish the UI for bbPress or if the theme is suitable for my needs.

Hi – just bought the theme and started customizing it. One issue I’m having already is not being able to add graphics to a menu. I copied how you did it in your main menu example, but the image doesn’t show up in the menu – instead just the text link TO the graphic shows up. Am I missing something here? Thanks!

1) I don’t think, the theme has some resemblances such as the rating style, but that’s about it. You can change the rating styles and all the theme colours so your site looks very differently.
2) You can add as many or few tabs as you want. You create the tabs they are not preset.
3) The theme uses shortcodes, these can be inserting via the Visual Composer drag and drop page builder.
4) You associate posts with games (hubs). Once associated with a game (hub) it will automatically display in the News section.
5) There is a theme option to change the page background.
6) Yes.
7) Yes.
8 ) The theme does not require any extensions. The theme only recommends a few plugins such as Contact Form 7, Social Login and Advanced Responsive Video Embedder.
9) It contains English translation .mo/.po files.
10) The theme comes with a detailed help file.
11) Yes.
12) I’m not going to say whether or not it’s better. It’s different. Visually the themes look completely different. Gauge also offers full tabbed game pages, whereas Explicit seems to just have single review pages.

there are lots of h2 headings, coming from the widgets which are not always related to the topic (for example here: http://gauge.wpengine.com/call-of-duty-ghosts/review/). It could become difficult for Google to understand the main content respecitvely structure of a post. or am i wrong because it’s possible due to html5?
breadcrumbs for hierarchical purposes are missing or do you have them disabled?
last but not least one request: it would be great to have a homepage header with several posts/images showing up at once. I will buy it in the near future because you did a really good job here. some more updates and i’ll be happy

Interesting point. I’ll look into using h3 headers for widget post titles.
The theme does not come with breadcrumbs, I’m not sure they contribute a great deal to SEO. However there are plenty of plugins that integrate breadcrumbs.
Can you give me an example of such a header?
Hmm, I think it’s important to have breadcrumbs for SEO and usability purposes, especially for gauge because it has hubs/product sites. It helps Google to identify the structure plus those breadcrumbs are internal links with keyword relevancy as well. My experience says if a product shows up as a breadcrumb at posts related to it for example – the hub site benefits from it (thus the keywords, let’s say “Call of Dury” ranks better in Google). This is just my experience though. I’ll try plugins, I hope they are combatible with your site.

Yes absolutely. The theme is designed to rate/review any kind of content. All the game specific references are created by the user and there are options to change all of these.

I just need confirmation that the homepage slider is automatically generating posts from categories, you said you will add that in the next update but I am not sure I can find it in changelog or maybe you are preparing that in 1.5 update ?

Yes this feature has now been added. You can display posts, reviews and hub pages from specific categories or add custom slides to the slider.

Just to echo what bob said – a follow feature would be great for this theme really. If its a food blog for example users can follow certain categories for it or genre of games even. (xbox gamers can follow xbox games while PS gamers follow PS notifications)...its a good idea!

Well, this is the most awesome theme I have ever seen! Great job GhostPool. We were very satisfied with your Score theme which we used for years.
I noticed a “Forum” tab on some hubs on your demo site. It would be awesome if you could access game-specific forums in which you can create topics via that tab (e.g. http://www.gamespot.com/the-amazing-spider-man/forums/).
Also, since game details are now displayed on every assigned post type, it would be nice if users can follow games, so they’ll get notified (e-mail and/or buddypress notification system) about news, reviews, ... about that game.

Items can be ordered/ranked by site rating, user rating, date, title, awards and comments. You cannot currently order items by views.
Future plans include the following, however some of these may not make it into the theme:
- Control number of columns - User rating block widget/element - Bulk edit option for post association - Add page category slugs to URLs - Option to change theme width in style settings - bbPress forum styling improvements - Predictive search - Track post views - Up and coming page

1) The theme comes with elements (similar to widgets that be inserted in any page or sidebar) which you can see listed here: http://prntscr.com/4n3o7n
2) You can already create separate top ten charts using the Ranking element. However each game cannot have multiple rankings based on different markets – you would need to create separate games for each market.
3) There are plans to add this feature currently, but I may do in the future if it becomes highly requested and feasible to do.

The elements I’m looking for appear at the top of the page (the full-width image with “review” and the author info), and about halfway down the page, where there is a full-width image. When I say full-width then, I mean without any margin.

The theme supports 100% width headers, here’s an example http://gauge.wpengine.com/call-of-duty-ghosts/review, but you cannot have 100% width body images on review pages currently (you can on normal pages though).

One question: Are you going to add sidebars, in one coherent style, generated automatically with information to a specific game? Or how does it look like if you assign a post to a game? Are you able to switch from a submenu between news, articles, hub-overview and such?

You can see the hub header used across all the hub pages (game overview, news, videos etc). This is not used on individual articles if that is what you’re asking, however I’m considering adding support for this since others have requested it.
