i updated to your newest version of Salient. Now when I trie to add some text with a text area, i cant write into it. i tried to add a text to my portfolio:
At first I add an element in visual composer and create an text element inside. Then I switch from visual to text. After I typed something in it doesnt save my text and the text area remains empty. Adding fotos is no problem.
Do you have any solution for me?

im trying to change the site title font to Lovelo. Ive looked through all the previous related comments and has estimated that this would have the best shot of working – but it doesnt, any help would be great:

I want the title to have the same tracking as the nav font as well so +2 spacing.

I’de like to have 4 blocks for entering different pages on the home page. I want them to look exactly like the portfolio but when hover showing a describing text, and when clicking – link to another page.

You’d have to use an actual portfolio element – you can keep those 4 projects in their own category so they won’t show up in the portfolio itself and then you could use the external project URL field in the projects to make them link to your desired pages

Is it possible to Kern individual pairs of letters please? I’m using the Lovelo typeface as my page header titles, but there’s a nasty space between the uppercase A and Y. Any option to close up that kerning nightmare please? I’m aware of the option to tighten letter spacing for entire words, but I just want to target the A and Y. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, we were using the home slider and that was the problem. If we want to use an embed code for Youtube or Vimeo link, how do we do that on the Nectar Slider and is there options to turn the music off?

You can indeed use embeds in the Nectar Slider as well but they wouldn’t act as the BG for the slide – they’d still just be a player sitting in the content area. If you were interested in doing that you can just paste that embed code into the caption field and it should parse. Also there are no options to disable the sound of video BG’s yet

Hey I love you theme! So great. I’m having a small issue embedding videos. I embedded 3 videos in 3 columns. All are youtube and ALL are the same size. But when I paste in the URL the 3rd video is substantially bigger the the other 2. How do I make them all the same height for consistency?

2. Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:

It wouldn’t be possible to accomplish those tasks without some custom javascript development unfortunately – the mods would need to take place in the nectar-slider.js file located in the js folder. Css alone wouldn’t be able to take care of this

I am having issues with the typography panel under “salient”. Any changes I make to the custom fonts (I.e. changing font type or size) upon hitting “Save Changes” it goes back to what it was before and doesn’t change on the updated site either. I keep trying to adjust headers 4 and 5 and every single thing I do doesn’t save, it just goes back again.
So Finally I just tried turning off “use custom fonts?” and clicked save, only to see that it still has custom fonts turned on and isn’t saving that change either.
Just as a bit more info, I tried the typography panel on my other site that I have purchases Salient on and it worked and saved fine, however I have not upgraded that site to Wordpress 4.0, so maybe because the one I am having issues with is the newest wordpress 4.0 the typography panel may be having issues?
Ok scratch this request now, for some reason I gave it a break for a few hours and tried again a second ago and it’s working now. Very odd

Hi all, I’ve had my website developed by a web designer, who did all the set up and installation of the Salient theme for us – however it’s on v. 3.1.5 and I’d like to update it for one (urgent and simple) feature in particular – the full width content column padding – and don’t have access to this because it wasn’t installed myself. I now run and manage the back end myself – is there possibly a way I could continue with keeping up to date with the latest theme updates? Not quite sure how to navigate this so I’d appreciate some advice, thanks

if you can get in contact with the designer who built the site, he should be able to give you access to account in which the theme was purchased – once you’re on that you’ll be able to download the current version and install it.

Ok thanks for your reply! Will get on to that another thing – I seem to be having trouble with setting up the google analytics tracking code properly. Have tried a few times to add it under the General Settings page and am positive I’ve copied the code correctly but it hasn’t registered the page.. Is there anything else that I should do?
The tracking code can take a day to sync – if you’ve already waited that long please share your URL so I can take a peek at the code
Been setting up my Salient portfolio. I imported the .xml but then changed my mind about which one i wanted and imported that one. However now my site is completely messed up… How do i revert my portfolio site back to its 100% original state??
Bonus Question. If i decide to change my hosting provider how to i export my wordpress site (including all of my portfolio projects)?

You can either just delete the imported data or use a plugin to handle it automatically https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-reset/ – also if you were switching servers you could use another plugin to export the database if you didn’t want to just export an xml file similar to that of the included ones

That is actually specific to the plugin being used – which is WPML. Unfortunately there’s no other way to add icons in beside through plugins like that which already are doing it automatically

You can upload your own image in the options panel – but the one seen on the ascend demo is css based and will only be used if you have the ascend skin active.

That sounds like you’ve done the correct steps – could you share your URL so I can see where you’re at? One thing that’s missing from your steps is importing the theme options – you can do that in the Salient options panel > import/export tab

You all have been extremely helpful in my previous questions and I have two final questions until my website is complete. On my page:

1. You all gave me a code for my CSS to change the font of my header, however when I got to the typography section and change the font it isn’t changing.
2. Is there a way to make the squares for the content smaller to a size of m choosing? Like make the rectangles smaller?
I forgot a couple things:
3. for some reason when I put projects in categories and subcategories in editing the page, they show up in the category, but not subcategory. for example, the second post titled “VA Beach” shows up in the section “Photography”, but not “Nature.”
4. Lastly, I wanted to know if folders/categories would be possible like on this website:

1. The custom css I supplied is the only way you can change the font attributes of the logo – the other header font selections in the typography are not for the logo (since most use an image for a logo)
2. Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:
