If you don’t include a featured image the fullscreen image at the top of a single-post goes away, is there a way to have a featured image but not have a full-screen image on a single-post?

I have to agree with @sterlingwilliam. This is a great theme and author support is outstanding 
I enjoy using this theme, just have one suggestion for next update. It would be great if we have an option to add logo on top-center of the slider to be always visible, not just when open menu.
I mean that would be great feature for customers. Please tell me do you have in plan this update?

Do you can in some of next updates include featured images on top, on portfolio template? Right now it is not possible for portfolio page template. We still have option to create new page with visual composer but it would be nice to have that option for portfolio page out of the box. And if it possible to set custom height for that image, not just full-screen height.

You can actually… If you create a portfolio page and add some content to it. You don’t need to set up any featured slider in this case. Once again, if you have any trouble building this type of page send me a link when you have it online.

For example on your demo site http://www.pirenko.com/seven/boxed-portfolio/ it would be picture in header behind title and sub-title with possibility to set custom height for that picture

Yes, you can do that on this specific page type. You can build/add whatever content you want before the portfolio thumbs are shown. Did you already tried this using Visual Composer?

Theme looks great! Considering buying it, but I wonder how well it integrates with woocommerce? I know Samba has integration out of the box, but I prefer this one since looks cleaner and has nicer left side menu.

Hello – Just bought the theme.. Really nice so far. One feature i’d like to see is the ability to turn on a featured slider on a Blog Page template (much like i can check the option “Display featured slider above the content?” on the Default Template).. Yes, i know that i can add a slider using the Visual Composer—however this slider would then live inside the content area and wont be full screen like if it was added before the content area.
Any workarounds available here? Or could this be added to a new release?

Thank you for purchasing! You can achieve this by creating a page, adding the slider and then add a latest posts element. This seems to be what you are looking for, but let me know if not.

I was really hoping to use the “Blog Template” in order to achieve this since the blog template contains the functionality for displaying blog posts, paginating them, and adding the filter bar across the top. That is not as easily achievable using the Default template.
In addition, it seems like you are also not able to add a slider across the top of portfolio pages either—which seems like a real shame.
For a bit of background, my use case is that I am creating a site where each page leads off with the slider image; the homepage, the about page, the portfolio, and the blog. Currently I have the homepage and about us pages laid out with as a “Page”... And i really wanted to leverage the Portfolio template for the Portfolio section and the Blog Template for the blog section.
Is there a specific reason why the slider cant be an option for all templates?

There is just one thing a little annoying, when I put a Latest Portfolio item on a page (or create a Portfolio Page), that page loads very slowly… maybe because it loads the full size images before showing the page ?!

You had the very good idea to make a complete author page. I can see you have several authors in the demo. The one is missing, is one page to see all the authors. But not only for five or ten authors, but some smart pages to present more than one thousand authors. Do you plan to add this ability to Seven to present huge number of authors?

Hi, thank you for your kind comment! If you look at the Homepage with blog you will see an authors section and it seems to be what you are looking for. This is a page element and it can be added to any page. You can select which authors are shown. Let me know if you have any suggestion. Cheers

3 – Yes. I can’t ensure that they will all work, but I have changed as less as I could the Visual Composer plugin;
4 – What do you mean with vertical slider? Anyway, let me add that the slider used on both themes is the same;
5 – Yes, you can add a custom element using the Visual Composer;
6 – Yes, there are 2 widgetized areas there so you can add whatever you want to;

Thank you for your interest! Here are my comments:
1) All pages can be built using the Visual Composer included page builder included with the theme. This means that you can add a menu element to them. You can also add a logo on the upper part of the page if you want;
2) I don’t know what you want to do exactly here, but you can modify the theme if you want or use plugins for this;
3) I would say that yes… The theme has a custom CSS option or you can use a child theme if you prefer to add some code to the style.css file;

Thanks for the quick reply, about point 2. I just would like to create my own custom posts. I need to use the theme to set-up a magazine and I need custom posts for Issues (Magazine numbers) and related Articles.

You should be all right with that as long as you know how to set up that content. In the meantime I have set up a more classic homepage: please click on the button “With Menu” under the main menu “HOME” button.
