What should the dimensions of the photograph be for the header to fit fully? Mine becomes stretched and I had to adjust to make sure it fit without replicating. I want it to be static. Please help. Thanks!
Make sure it’s at least 1920px wide / 500px high. The height depends on weather what elements you’re displaying in the featured area. Hope this helps!
I have a problem with the plugin Theme Station Podcasting Feed. I get a ‘The plugin does not have a valid header’ when installing. Please help.
Could you try activating and deactivating it again? If that doesn’t help pls create a dummy account for me and send it to support@themestation.net. I’ll take a closer look. Sorry about the inconvencience.
- How can I customize the color of the header, footer, and background using custom css?
- This page looks as if it has two footers: the one that is customizable and the Copyright bar below it. How can I remove one of them so that I can include all info in just one footer?
- How can I add a 2-3 sentence description of the “Featured Episode” in a smaller font beneath the title?
- Can I add a photo next to the “Featured Episode”?
- How can I change text from “From the Blog” to something else?
Thanks!
To your first and second question: to change the colors or hide elements you will have to make your own customizations. Please use the child theme when doing this, so your changes aren’t overwritten during and update.
For your third question: you can activate the excerpt section in the theme options. This way an excerpt of your featured post will be displayed below the post.
A photo added to the featured episode must be customized.
Changing the text “from the blog” to something else, must be customized.
I hope this answers your questions!
Which files will I need to edit to make the customizations? Can you tell me which lines of code will need to be amended?
Simply write the css declarations you would like to overwrite into the css file of your child theme. If you would like to edit a different file, simply copy the file you would like to override into the child theme folder and edit it.
For the edits you’re talking about, you would have to make css customizations as well as customizations to the front-page.php.
You can find out more about child themes here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
I am having the same issue with the Theme Station Podcasting Feed as conjunktionman. It is giving a header error, I have deleted and reinstalled and gives the same error.
Our new podcast episodes are not publishing as a result to itunes.
Could you create a dummy account for me and send it to support@themestation.net so I can take a closer look? Sorry for the inconvenience.
Have sent you the dummy account information couple of days ago, awaiting feedback / getting this fixed by you. Unable to publish podcast episodes.
Our entire itunes feed has now disappeared and the plugin is duplicating the start of XML inside the feed. Please fix this ASAP as it is now damaging our show’s audience and reputation.
See here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/quantified-body-search-for/id910088499 -> Shows all our episodes have now disappeared from iTunesand here: http://thequantifiedbody.net/?feed=podcast—> Shows error in the feed the plugin generates
Sorry for the late reply, please install the newest version of Podcaster, that is what i causing the conflict. This is a bug that was updated in the newer version of the theme. You can download the theme right here on themeforest.net. The newer version also includes an auto updater, so you will be able to update themes right from your dahsboard in future. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
The version installed is 1.3.5 which was just downloaded from here. The Themecaster Feed Plugin continues to NOT work. It is version 1.0.4. The version we had was already set to auto update, but it never did. Upgrading from version 1.3.1 to 1.3.5 has made no difference to the situation. You have told me to upgrade to the latest version many times now to fix this, and it does not, I sent you the login details – please login and fix the issue or give me SPECIFIC version information and where to find a version that I can install that does work.
When I checked earlier today, the theme was version at 1.3.3. You have now updated it to 1.3.5 and the error with the plugin is no longer there. Your feed can be found under http://thequantifiedbody.net/?feed=podcast If you have any further questions, please let me know.
Well the version of the Themecaster Feed Plugin has been updated to 1.0.6 since this morning when I last tried to fix it. I had upgraded to 1.3.5 and as I said this did not fix the themecaster feed plugin which has been the issue since this started. I guess you logged in and upgraded it?
In any case, all I care is that it is working now – and it is – so thanks. For everyone listening, make sure your themecaster feed plugin is version 1.0.6 if you get problems with it.
I actually refrained from making the theme update myself because I was not aware if you had made any customizations to the theme files which you might have wanted to secure before updating. When I logged in later on, the theme was updated. The importand thing was that both, the theme and plugin needed to be updated.
The thing about RSS feeds (and this is a general thing) is that they do not refresh unless you make changes to a post within that RSS feed. So if a structural change has been made to the code for example, simply refreshing the browser won’t show the change immediately. The feed cache needs to be flushed and the easiest way of doing so is my editing and saving a post. Maybe this is what made the change visible, I cannot tell. Anyway, I’m glad it’s working again. Sorry about that.
I want to sometimes post blog posts without podcast sometimes blog post with podcast and sometimes video interview. is your theme suitable for this? thanks Richard
Yes, you can seperate your podcast posts from your blog posts by using a category for your podcast posts. You can even hide your podcast posts from the blog if you like to.
Thanks, I am having trouble installing this.
I get the below error message
“Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-6804946-podcaster-multimedia-wordpress-theme.zip Note: You’re using the temporary domain 693.99f.myftpupload.com. Change domain Unpacking the package… Installing the theme… The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed. ” I tried googling and there were a few other poeple with the same problem. There was a suggestion to copy the css file into the same folder as the zip file before uploading but that didn’t work.
This is my third failed attempt I have made at uploading a theme to Wordpress and makes me feel stupid.
I have an hosting account purchased at Godaddy with Wordpress support
Please unzip the file you download from themeforest. The file to be intsalled is simply called podcaster.zip and found within the file downlaoded from themeforest.
HI there – just installed the updated theme and chosen the ‘list’ view on the Podcast Archive page, but it still displays all posts in a grid view.
Can you help?
Answered your email!
Thank you for a seriously attractive theme! I really love it so far.
I’m a podcast beginner and have a quick question for you and am hoping you can help.
QUESTION 1:
Am I correct in thinking that if I wanted to view the stats surrounding how many plays my podcast gets, the best set up would be:
1) Host my podcast on Libsyn 2) Paste the Libsyn URL to each episode into the ‘featured audio’ area of an ‘audio post’ 3) It will generate in the Podcaster native audio player but I will get stats from Libsyn.
Is this correct? I just am on a very steep and fast learning curve here!
QUESTION 2:
If I were to host via Libsyn would I then generate an RSS feed for iTunes via Libsyn or via Podcaster?
Kind regards, www.thequarterlifequest.com
To Question 1: Yes, exactly.
Question 2: That is up to you entirely, but I’d recommend using Libsyn, since that is where you are hosting your audio files and managing your podcast from. We’re currently trying to find a smoother way of supporting services like Libsyn, but for now this is the only way.
I hope this answers your questions.
Hi, and thank you for a great theme. I’m having a weird problem with the widgets. Sometimes the widgets show up on the blog page, and sometimes they don’t. I’ve tried everything including deactivating all sidebar plugins. Do you have any suggestions?
Here is the link: http://www.artfor100.com/news/
Hi there,
There are three different widget areas, for the blog, single blog posts and pages. Make sure you’ve put the right widgets in the widget areas, this is what might be causing the issue.
Yes, all of the right widgets are correct. The problem is that sometimes the website doesn’t show the areas that i have specified, including the podcasts in the front page: http://www.theconversationpod.com/
All of the backend stuff is correct, including choosing the correct category for the podcasts archive, which is what should be showing on the home page.
The widgets are also done correctly but they’re still not showing up.
I wrote you and email before seeing this answer. Please disregard that message. Could you instead make a dummy account so I can take a closer look at what is happening? Send the info to support@themestation.net Thanks
Is there a way to implement NEXT and PREVIOUS links on the home page?
Unfortunately we do not offer customisations (yet), so if you would like to make changes to the theme, that go beyond the theme options, I cannot help. If you give me a little more detail about what you want to do, I might be able to give some pointers, though.
I just want a button at the bottom of the home page that says “next” or “previous” to show to show the next or previous podcasts like how you have it on the blog.
I’d advise you to create a podcast archive page which displays all the episodes of your podcast. Then activate the button on the front page by going to Theme Options > Podcasting Settings > Podcast Archive Button and pasting the URL of your Podcast archive page.
Thank you for a wondeful theme and being helpful in the past! Like conjunktionman, I am also having trouble with the Theme Station Podcasting Theme, and when I try to install it, it says ‘The plugin does not have a valid header.’ Did anyone come up with a resolution? Thank you so much!
Could you try deactivating and then activating it again?
Hello, I sent an email a few days ago and haven’t heard back yet. I’m sure you’re busy but I really need to know how to post separate video posts and blog posts like in the video demo. The only way I can see is to set up a category for the blog, but then I don’t have the correct page formatting.
You can view my blog at broadsheet.wpengine.com.
Also is this the correct URL I should use for my RSS feed?
This is a very tough theme for beginners
I have answered your email, if you still have question just let me know. WordPress can have a steep learning curve, but once you get through it, you’ll love it!
Thank you for the reply. I sent a clarification question back but hopefully I should be able to figure it out from there. I can’t wait for my site to look as good as the demo!
Hi,
I’m setting up the theme and for whatever reason the podcast episodes are not listed in the front page only the blog posts
Any help would be appreciate
Thanks
Eric

Hello guys,
Looks like the latest Jetpack upgrade broke the sharing font-icons on the archive page.
See here: http://www.lesclairvoyants.net/archives/
I reached out to the Jetpack people as well in case the issue is on their end, but since it’s the only theme which seems to have the problem (from all the themes I use for my sites), I thought I’d give you a heads up too. Any idea how to fix it?
Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback, we’ll look into it!
Thanks, keep me posted.
May I ask what method you used t get the share buttons there? A plugin or some other way? Thanks!
Jetpack. I’ve sent them a copy of the theme and they’re actually looking into it.
Love this theme! Big question, though – I have my podcast hosted on Libsyn, so don’t need to use the Podcasting Feed that comes with the theme. However, I’d still like it to be played in the header on the front page. Is that possible? Thanks!
You will have to post the audio on WordPress as well in that case. If you have a direct URL to your audio files hosted at Libysn, just simply use that one. We’re still working on better integration with services such as Libsyn.
So, where can I post the URL so it will show up in the header? Thanks!
When creating a post, make sure you choose the audio post format. A box will appear at the bottom of the screen, past the URL to the track there.
Also, make sure you’ve created and set (in the theme options) the category for your audio posts. It should appear on the front page now.
Great theme, really love it. One question, The NEXT and PREVIOUS post links at the bottom of a post page are not working. What do I need to do to activate them? thanks!
Hi there, one question: have you selected the category for your podcast already. Currently working on a fix and I need to know why this is happening in your case. Also: what plugins are you using? Thanks.
Hi,
Just purchased this theme. Great work. I have a problem with the plugin Theme Station Podcasting Feed. I get a ‘The plugin does not have a valid header’ when installing. Please help. I have tried both manual and automatic install.
Thanks
Hi, What version of WordPress and of the plugin are you using?
WP 4.0 and v1.0.3 of the plugin.
Just downloaded it from here on Friday
Could you create a dummy account for me so I can take a closer look at what is happening? Please send the info to support@themestation.net Sorry for the inconvenience.
The header images don’t load on tablets, they work fine for small phone and desktop. Any ideas?
Seems to be only on the front page and blog page
Thanks for letting me know, I’ll take a look at it.
Did the data-icon functionality break in this last update? I had to move the icon html code to be between the span tags instead of in the data-icon attribute.
Will look into it, thanks for the feedback!
Hi
I updated plug-ins and am also getting the following message
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_attachment_id_by_src() (previously declared in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data03/68/2151368/html/wp-content/plugins/thst-feed/thst-feed.php:36) in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data03/68/2151368/html/wp-content/themes/podcaster/functions.php on line 25
any advice?
Hi there,
Please update the theme as well. This should solve the issue.
Thanks. Can you give me an idea about how to do that? I can’t access the admin page.
If you can’t access the admin, please update the theme through FTP. You’ll have to download and unzip the theme files, then delete the current ones. Once you’ve deleted the old ones, upload the new files. You should be able to access your admin again now. More information on FTP installation can be found here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes#Adding_New_Themes_Manually_.28FTP.29 I’m sorry for the inconvenience.
Hey it’s me again (oh noes)!
So… I’m working on a french translation for the theme, I translated the default.po file and there seems to be one string missing.
On the “single post” page (ex: http://www.lesclairvoyants.net/2014/06/les-clairvoyants-02-un-vrai-travail-de-fourmi/) the string “Comment” does not seem to appear in the .po file.
Could you look into it so I can finish the translation and share it with the rest of the community?
Thanks again guys! Cheers, Faskil/
And the string “x comments on” seems to be missing too.
Managed to fix the “Comment” string but not the other one.
Fixed the other one two. Apparently there was a missing ‘thstlang’ in the comments.php, right after the string.
too*
I’ll take a look at this. Thanks!
