I just upgraded from 1.3 to 1.8
1) the auto update feature didn’t work for me even though I had the login and API key in. 2) on the main page, the 2 x column plus sidebar setting, although activated, no longer works

Also, why do all of the exceprt boxes now resize randomly. Before, they were all equal width and height. Even audio posts when using soundcloud code resizes randomly.

Ok. the random sizes of the posts only happen when I select 2 column layout. On single column layout, it all behaves perfectly 
Auto update feature had some issue but it was fixed.

I had to change my hosting since they were a pain in the *. I had to move all my posts and such to new hosting company. I have managed to do so 90%. Only issue is that i lost all my look from the old blog. Is there any way to keep same look? It would be too hard to make it from scratch again.
Wondering if is any fast way.

Goblog is simple theme and it is really easy to setup. If you remember your settings you can set it up in 10-15 minutes.
You can also export and import your theme options panel settings from old to new host.

Its not broken, I think you imported the sample content provided with theme. That sample content is old. I will be providing new sample content. You can create a new menu and use latest version.
My internet is really slow today so not able to check it properly.

Yes, old menu was not easy to use so I added new menu long time back. It is easy to use.
I’ve recently updated to version 1.2.8 which required copying over the theme in Wordpress. After a few tweaks almost everything is working. Two problems though. 1) The lightbox feature no longer works. I’ve disabled and enabled in settings and it changes nothing. 2) The GoBlog Social Widget no longer shows the different social network icons, just white boxes. Thoughts? I think you didn’t update it properly. I can’t find font-awesome.css file in your directory that’s social widget is not showing icons. Similar case might be with lightbox. Please upload all the files then theme will work properly.

BloomPixel, I really do appreciate your help. I found the issue you mention and fixed the social media icons. I can now confirm that the total contents of the theme zip file are now on the server. An exact number of files and size match. Still no lightbox though. Any further thoughts?

Lightbox only added for galleries. It is single image that’s why lightbox is not working for this post.
But it used to? For real! Until the update. I guess mine had a bonus feature…

We translated the lanuages files as stated in the documentation. Didn’t work to load it in the child theme. After placing it in the parent theme, the frontend is translated without a problem.
But most of the translation includes the backend informations (Theme Options) which remain in english even though the Wordpress interface uses the german language.
Any idea how to fix this? Thanks!

Hi. already did this. But thats not the problem I was refering. The frontend is translated as soon as we upload the .po/mo files to the parent theme but still the backend stays in english.

Did you try with default theme?
No. Because the blog goes live tomorrow and we would lose all theme settings in the database. Which is not a possible solution. The purpose of a child theme is clear I guess. It should work with that, too.
Where does the backend (‘Theme Options’) get its language files from?
Installed the theme on another server. No child-theme activated. Language files both in the wp-content/languages and the lang folder of goblog. WP Config set to german lang (de_DE). No change at all in the backend. It’s not working! Please fix this.
If you are using WP 4.0 you can translate your dashboard from Setting – General page but for that you need to place language files in wp-content/languages folder. You can get your desired language from http://wpcentral.io/internationalization/

Thanks for the reply. But this isnt really helpful. As I wrote earlier: the translated files are also placed in the wp-content/languages folder.
In your documentation, you describe the work how your translation should work. Plus the .po files include more than 800 strings. Most of them are used for the backend. The whole file got translated but is useless at the moment. 2 servers, 2 installations, both with the current versions of WP and your theme. NO translation of your backend settings.
Wordpress itself is working fine and already translated into the desired language.
We are talking about your THEME OPTIONS strings which are used in YOUR po files. If you need evidence I can send you a mail with the websites or screenshots.
You are right, everything is getting translated in including widgets except options panel. I submitted an issue to redux team. lets see what they provide for this.

I love the theme but am completely code illiterate and want to remove the admin panel. How do I go about this?
Which admin panel? Theme Options or WordPress dashboard?
The admin panel that shows up on the blog, which contains “Log in”, “Entries RSS”, “Comments RSS” and “Wordpress.org”
It is the Meta Widget. You can remove it from Appearance -> Widgets screen.

My header slider is set at a static height of 119px. I changed this to 552px so my banner works but because it has a static height it does not scale down on mobile devices. Can you please tell me what needs to be modified in the css files to make the header-slider responsive?

You need to modify heights accordingly in responsive.css file if you are adding static heights to slider.
I don’t want static heights I want it to be responsive. It was originally set as a static height of 119px so I changed to make my banner fit. What needs to be changed to make sure it resizes for smaller devices?
This space is not for banners. I added this space so users can add some kind of information and image is for background. Currently you only have solution to set static height. I’ll look for another solution for you.

Hi! Thanks for the great theme! But I have still few problems:
1. Language: your guide to language change was a bit dated (if you haven’t upgraded it already). In Wordpress 4.0 you can change the language in settings, no need to change any file codes if I’m correct?
2. So the language change works perfectly except few words, here in red:

And shown in green, there is no space between “written by” and the username. I don’t know if this is Goblog related?
Otherwise the language is Finnish and the language file is the official Finnish file from wordpress. Ideas how to fix this?
3. Responsiveness: I tried to put responsive layout on, but then on Ipad, the design is only one columned. And there is a lot of space on left and right, so I doesn’t look good on iPad. But iphone is just the way it should be, one columned.
Then I tried to put responsive layout off. On Ipad design looks great (computer-like). But on iPhone, browsing is hard because the page is wide.
So can you edit the iPad responsiveness to be maybe 2 columned or anyway bigger design? Or would it be possible to turn responsiveness on only in Iphones and other mobile phones? I have seen sites with other themes that do this fine, example http://piensijoittaja.net (a Finnish small blog).
4. When responsiveness is off, the “TIETOA”-page text on my site is bouncing funnily on iPhone seems like the browser doesn’t know which font size to choose. Phone is iPhone 5 and newest OS.

1. WordPress 4.0 now allows you to install WordPress in any language but themes need to be translated in the way I mentioned in documentation.
2. It should not be the case but if you are seeing it you can add little bit space in translated text of Written by in your language file.
3. Yes, it is one column on iPad resolution but that left right space will be removed because in new update I am adding off canvas menu that opens in left like a mobile app.
4. I will have to check on iPhone because in browser it looks fine.

3. Great! I have noticed that some blogs have an option in the footer that allows to choose the mobile or desktop version. If thats possible to add in the future, it would be nice
4. Actually now the page looks fine on my Iphone. Funny…maybe some temporary glitch…
Anyway Goblog is a great product. Customization works excellent and I recommend it 100%! Support also AAA+++

Hello again, still few language problems. If you could take a look?
In a nutshell:
1. Written by-text is translated ok front page. But when the post is clicked, the written by is translated, but there is still no space in front of the name. Adding a space in po-file didn’t help.
2. On the post, “1 comment” is not translated. It is done right in the po-file.
3. In a post, “reply to user” is not found in a language file, so it is not translated?

That is related to your WordPress installation. WordPress gives you the option to choose language when you install it. Dashboard has nothing to do with theme.

You can either show site name or logo. What’s the sense in showing both at the same time? I never seen site name and logo together on any site. May be you are mixing site name with some other term.

You can’t show both site name and logo on same place at same time and I think this option is not available in any of the themes available here.

I was trying to display the Tagline under my logo, but this wouldn’t show up, although from the Theme settings I have set the Show Tagline property to ‘Show’
