Hi! This looks like a fantastic Chat integration. I have a few questions. Q1. De we need an extended license? Facts: The company I work for has an internal website where our company’s customers would like to communicate with us and with each other. Customers (startups) apply to be part of our program—if accepted, we provide some funding and receive some equity in each startup. Access to our internal site is restricted to our customers and certain others, but is free. Q2. Can all archived chat messages be searched using keyword search? Q3. Are there any GPL or Split License Terms that apply? Q4. Would we need to modify the source code for integration purposes? If so, are we allowed to? Q5. Once we integrate this Chat API, do we still retain full rights to our own code, without the need to provide or disclose our code to others?

Firstly thank you for being interested in our theme. I will try to answer your questions and hopefully they will make sense.
1. You only need an extended license when your application is being sold and contains our theme. Here is the explanation of the licenses.
2. Unfortunately this feature is not implemented in the current version of Neon theme, so we do not have an ETA for that. You can add this functionality on your own, because each user has specific development requirements.
3. We have only included plugins that are free to use with GPL licenses and none of them is “premium” plugin.
4. Yes you need to modify the code, because the functionality is added by your developers. This is just a plain HTML theme and to add the purpose to it, you must add the code and modify it when needed. We have applied predefined parameters for each GUI element just to illustrate how you can use them, and to show the varieties of the theme.
5. Sure you will have the rights of your code. In this case if the theme code (Neon) is being distributed to the users (standalone copy) you need to purchase extended license.

Neon Chat API is developed by us and we own the rights for it. In this case they are protected by Envato Policy.

Hello and thanks for the fantastic theme. I’m wondering how I would go about getting mobile version of the top menu (Logo with menu toggle) to show on both xs and sm. I have too many menu items to show horizontally on the small layout width.

I have a question about selectBoxIt and Bootstrap. I’m able to implement selectBoxIt by adding “selectboxit” to the class name of the element. However, I’m using form elements that are using input-lg for the size. What can I do to make selectBoxIt inherit the size?

I understand what you mean, but actually this is not included in Neon theme, we have just did that for standard input size.
If you want to achieve it, you have to modify the CSS for -lg version. With some small CSS changes.

I know what do you mean here, but currently this is not supported in Neon theme, I am sorry about it. We will try to implement this feature in next releases but if you have knowledge in CSS and JavaScript you may give a try, because we don’t have an ETA for this feature.

Hi, We like Neon theme for our business app, however, the devs are complaining that the theme is pretty heavy with a lot of seemingly redundant references like to jquery (which seems to be places in multiple spots within the tree structure). We don’t want to start pulling out stuff lest it break in ways we don’t understand. Can you suggest what we can take out which will help us get a lighter themeset but not lose functionality, if at all? Or how else do we reduce the footprint? thanks eGov

Neon comes with full set of functionality, so to remove it in the end of each file you have the html comment that explains what has been imported in that page. The extra configuration scripts can be removed from your developers, it is pretty easy to understand because the code is commented and the functionality is described, so you will not loose anything.

First off really like the neon theme, however we are having problems implementing the horizontal theme on mobile devices.
All works fine on PC monitors but when scaled down to mobile sized the top bar doesn’t downscale properly. It also seems to be an issue on the demo pages.
Any fixes available?

what you need to do is add a display:block; to the .horizontal-menu div, you can do it by overwriting or in the core CSS, here is the code I got from the inspect element:

I am sorry about this, but currently we do provide this information. What I suggest you is to create an account in BitBucket.org, then with git client upload the v1.7 files (html) and commit changes, after it , upload the v1.8 files and commit changes again. After that you will be able to see the what has changed.
If you don’t know how, we can try to create for it, but currently we are busy and could take few days to do it.

the templates is just perfect and suits perfectly my needs, thanks a lot from Paris!
I just encountered a small issue and I hope that I’m not the only one. When i add the “fixed” class to the menu (or just go on the appropriate layout html file) and switch to the smartphone size, the navigation bar gets half transparent and the css seems to be completely broken.
It works fine on your online demo, I downloaded the file a second time in case I did modify something I shouldn’t have but same issue!

One more thing: when you’re scrolling in a scrollbox, is it possible that the page continues scrolling one’s you have reached the end of that box? That’s actually a quite common problem, especially on smartphones when you hit a col-lg-12 scrollbox!

About your first issue, you are right, it does happen also in the demo so I didn’t knew this was happening when I developed it, so here is the quickfix for it:

Concerning the second issue: please have a look at the same link (osteodesk.com). Lets say your mouse is on the right side of your screen and you scroll down. As soon as you hit the “next patient” box, it will scroll down the patients. Once it hits the end of that list if you want to continue scrolling the page you have to move your mouse outside the scrollbox or you’re blocked!
Any idea?

After executing command in terminal: lessc neon.less, where neon.less file is located in ../neon/assets/css/neon.less/ I am getting error:

Depending on the error report generated via less compiler, the issues are thrown from lesshat.less which is built by thirdparty developer. So please download the latest version of lesshat.less, replace with the current one (in assets/css/other-less/ folder) and test if it works for you.

Then tell me if it works for you, because I am not able to test in my local machine, I use CodeKit to compile the less files and it doesn’t generate that error, maybe you are using some newer/older version of Less.

You should follow API of Vectormaps to get it working, the examples we have included are shown with the predefined maps we have found in http://jvectormap.com/maps/world/europe/
We haven’t tested so much with these maps, so I don’t know exactly how to create custom maps with JvectorMaps.
For the charts, can you please tell me which type of charts you want to change color? Possibly send me a screenshot.

the theme is actually nice. Its easy to use, thumbs up for that.
However, i would like to integrate a full ajax system for the dashboard so the content could be load dynamically. This is probably not possible at the moment, because the main reason is also to avoid the loading // check of all the .js or .css files. The issue is that the javascript is not reinitialized on new and dynamic page content, that is probably sad.
Is there a way that on a newer version a javascript initalize function would be given? As example Metronic has a core function which is enough to be called to reload every javascript initalize functions.

Additionally, repsponsive design has a small issue on mobile version. The message/notification/task box is on width 100% but has a margin right, which has the result that it out of view on the left side.

I am sorry about this, but we didn’t implemented the AJAX system for full theme navigation, Neon is just static admin template, considering the time it was released we didn’t intended to make it more advanced.
You can consider our other theme Xenon which supports this system:

What does this mean? Set height of what?

About this fix, we have used an algorithm (before update) that always sets the height of sidebar the same as the content, and it was fired every 100 milliseconds to balance the height of sidebar and main content.
So prior to this, we have removed this kind of technique and implemented the Table layout which will make always balanced columns.
To be more clear, two floated divs cannot have the same height, so to maintain it we have used that algorithm and now with this technique it is not needed anymore, this consisted in performance improvements.

Hi. Just bought the template and integrating into a site. I’m probably missing something. Is there a way of having the sidebar collapse or expand on a user click or similar? The template seems to be supplied with static sidebars either expanded or collapsed – was just hoping to make it interactive. Also does the datatables CSS support v2? Thanks
