Is Visual Composer for Samba going to be updated soon? I really love the new functionality of the major update

The new version adds over 300kb of css to all pages so I’m not very happy with it, because it slows down everything. If you find any bug with the current version please let me know. Otherwise, this theme will be keeping the current VC version for now.

It’s not a question of bugs – I just like the new grid functionality and the content elements is offers 
But ok…I can still deactivate the VC that comes with Samba and play around with the native plugin

Hello Pirenko, I do have a problem with the view of a single Portfolio Item. In the german language there are these special letters like äÄöÖ etc. It works all fine on the whole homepage but in the single view of a portfolio item they are replaced with weird other letters. Can you please help me to fix this problem? Cheers

Please make sure that the font in use does support those characters. To verify that the issue is related with the font, chose the Arial font as the Body font and re-test that page.

Okay! I had a counter, but I got rid of it because I wanted to use less plugins as possible for this new theme.
It is up to you to decide as long as the plugin does not interfere with the theme functions. Cheers!

Just a quick question on menus on the left side.
How do I create a menu item which, when clicked, only opens the sub-items? (this is what happens in your sample site, for example the item “blog” opens 3 additional subitems, but the main page doesn’t change. thanks P

Hi Pirenko, I have bought the samba theme. Is it possible to have the Half width layout Portfolio but without the right info panel (Date and Skills)?? I tried to adjust the single-pirenko_portfolios.php but I couldn’t find the right line in the code. Is that the right file anyway? Thanks for help.

Hi Pirenko, I am having a problem with my author pages. I click on an authors latest posts tab in the author box (See All Posts), and it leads me to a list of articles that the author did not write. Its weird because the permalink is correct for the authors permalink.
Another issue I’m having is the author box being cut off. I have to reload the page for it to show correctly.

In Blog Options, there is not a template for Grid layout-only Classic and Masonry shows. But when I go to the blog page, I can assign the page to use the grid layout and it doesn’t work. I want the blog page to show three columns like in the demo. What am I doing wrong?

Please go to Settings>Reading and make sure that you have the option “Posts Page” empty. As an alternative, go to Samba Options>Blog Tab and change the default archives blog template.

I created a menu for my blog categories, and have assigned colors to those categories. I go to the blog, but there is only one color for all of the categories. How can I make the theme use the colors I have set?

Thank you for purchasing! According to the theme preview content and to the theme documentation you can’t assign colors to categories. You can do this for pages, posts, portfolio items and team members.

On the slider, can the text stay static? I have the same text on my slides but when the slide fade in and out, I want the text not to fade, just be static.

Sorry for bothering you again. I encountered a problem using caching plugins. Whenever I try to set up a caching plugin, photos keep disappearing from my portfolio carousel as the image links get corrupted. I tried several plugins – even the W3 Total Cache you’re using. As soon as I deactivate the plugin, everything works fine.
Do you have any idea about why this happens?

I have seen a few other people mention this but no suggestions to fix. All of our Google maps are showing some default location no matter what latitude and longitude we use.

Are you using the latest theme version? If not please update it and also the bundled plugins. Turn OFF all the other plugins that you may have for a moment too.
I just tested it locally and it seems to be fine. Can you tell me the values that you are using? Please reply here so that everyone knows what is the problem on your side.

Hello, After doing some additional research and testing, it appears as though visual composer needed an update to 4.4.1 and this is what was causing the issue.
So to anyone else with issues, do try to update all of your plugins not just the main theme!
