I am considering to use this theme for one of my side projects, I have some questions since I can’t use the demo site. I am planning to use this for professional services (consultants, advisory, etc.) directory for my regional areas (country). I think this theme will be a great one. Here they are:
1. Monetization – Can I combine subscription mode (quarter, semester, annual) with pay per post/listing at the same time? Some may prefer subscription but I still want to accept pay per post as well.
2. What kind of banner/ads that I can use and sell using this theme?
3. We like the visual part of this theme, my concern is with the quality of images the user may upload to their profile and/or their listing. Can we have control over this matter? To make sure the quality of images used.
4. Once it is go live, can we edit the category? Should we want to improve the taxonomy (not change it completely, only some refinement – edit/typo, delete unused category). One that we used before, not yours obviously, we cannot edit it whatsoever after we launched it.
5. Control over post/listing posted by user (to control the quality of the listings) and control over user profile too.
I try not to change the coding of this theme and will use whatever available on this theme which I have been monitoring quite some time is superb.
Any inputs/tips from other users (purchased one obviously) will very much appreciated!

You can test our demo. there is a test demo site for front-end.
1. It basically works for the payment options. I think it’s little different. please have a look at pmp plugin and see if it allows. we use pmp plugin and added our options (amount of posts, days, price)
2. Anything you can make with visual composer on pages (except a few fixed template pages)
3. there is an option to review before it posted. then you can check the quality of images.
4. The categories have each unique ids. you can change names or descriptions. it’s like wordpress category (taxonomy)
5. Yes you (admin) can handle users posts and profiles. you can also use a plugin (user switch) to handle them.
There is a test demo. please try some and you will figure it out more.

Anyway can you give me ideas on how to use this theme for the following scenario: I want each user to have the listing as an institution but I also want to have their specific product/services as a listing it self. >> It’s like a professional photographer profile as one listing and I also want his/her service packages (business/wedding etc.) as individual listing of its own.
I know I can use categories/taxonomy to solve this, I am just thinking maybe based on your portfolio it can be solved in other ways. My concerns is that the listing of providers will be mixed with the services in the search results and it may not fare well with users. My preference is to separate between the two.
Atm am still digging other things that this theme can offer. So far it’s a great candidate. Well done.

I am not sure what kind of products will be added. if it can be added by simple html code or images, it’s possible. if it needs to be “buy”, you need the 3rd part plugins.
I can’t really say it’s possible unless I totally understand your project. however it seems to be possible with tags (we named keywords). it’s also one of taxonomies to be sorted and searched.
I recommend you to test on our test demo site. it’s the best way you to figure it out.

Yoast seo works fine. we have not tested others.
We don’t have the option for hiding default fields. if you know css, you simply hide.
Do you mean maps for only one category? not for maps but we have item list pages for specific categories and locations. you can find them on our demo 1.

Yes of course I remember. the one page is my favorite. I might have said we would try to add it. but there is an issue for space (design / placing content). we could not find the best idea. that’s why it has been delayed. if we had a good idea, of course it would be already added. we are working and considering to have more detail pages instead of tabs. we will see what we can do. but not sure if we can make the one page to fit to everybody.

i’m interested in you theme. I’m using your demo but i’m trying to figure out, how search is performed.
Let me explain.
I’m using your demo HOME IMAGE 1
I want to use Geo location. So i insert Hotel as keyword and then i press the geolocation icon.
I live in Italy and considering that in your demo there are not hotels in my area i would expect to read a sort of “Nothing found” message.
But this doesn’t happens.
On the left area in Search results page i see my GeoLocation (surrounded by a circle) and on the right all the hotels located in Australia (that what’s your demo includes).
Not very logic.
Always in Search results page in case i use the Search box on the right (above the items), the map is zoomed to display the location of the items.
IF i use the distance SLider on the left i can see my Geolocation but the results on the right are always the same.
COuld you please explain why or is it a bug of your theme?
Actually if this is how it works, IMHO it’s very user unfriendly and misleading.

You can use translate plugins to translate. you can also change files directly. however we don’t recommend for our new version updates. I believe translation files not related with violation of copyrights.

Hi, I tried to install your theme and maybe could be ok for me but I would like to import 2000 items to see if works it… it’s the third template than I tried but after 1000 items anyone doesn’t work.
I have “all import plugin” but I need the name of the fields, for example: lat, long, address, author, excerpt, category etc.

I believe (many items) import also related with your server side (also related with plugin). If you have many items to import, I would suggest you to separate some and add them. most of fields are post-meta (since 2.0) and that works with most of plugins.

We have some pre-sales questions for the latest version of the Javo Directory. It would of great help if we could get answers / inputs to the following:
1. Is it possible to have a menu called “City” as part of the main menu. This will list down (drop down box) cities that a particular service is available for. When a particular city is selected, the “Location” box in the Home Page slider, shows the location only for that city. Is this possible to do, if so, let us know how to go about it. 2. In the Home Page (Crowded) , there are search fields for Keywords, Location, etc. Is it possible to have another search field. Is it possible to add a new filed to Data Base and add it as a search field in the slider. 3. In the detailed page for a listing, is it possible to have a search bar in the menu – like the one given in the link: https://www.zomato.com/TheGlassHouse 4. We want to have a component called “Explore Neighborhood” where we list location names and the no. of listing in that location, is that possible, if so, let us know how to implement it.

1. We have item list template pages which you can display specific category or location.
2. Not yet for custom fields. we have a plan for it. you can only hide them if you don’t want to show. (ex: hide location field)
3. We have been working on primary menu with search form. it may take time.

Why the items list page in the admin is so slow?
This is the only slow page on the site is loading … several times the admin-ajax.php file.

We have “item list” template. you can setup to show a specific category and location. you can show “cafe” items. and you can even list cafe (category) in Newyork (location)

Awesome, thanks Rob! So if we had 3 Categories and each of those had 2 Sub Category, we could have 9 unique URL’s/pages to add unique content to (just an introductory paragraph at the top, briefly talking about that specific Sub Category, or Category)? Thanks for the quick reply!
I believe that it’s possible to do. list items are pages which you can create its own slugs (url). and there is a place to add some content before item listings or after. so you can add some instructions between maps and listings.

Currently from a Map page (http://javothemes.com/directory/demo2/map-box/), when you click on a category (Cafe), you stay on the same URL and the results are simply filtered.
For SEO purposes, we’d like to change this so that when you click on a category (Cafe), you’re taken to a different URL, showing the filtered results. This would allow us to add Category specific (Cafe) SEO to the Category results page. We would then add different SEO for Restaurant, and it would have it’s own URL etc. This would allow us to add category specific content and SEO for each category.
Does that make sense?

No the version before had already bugs about 404 error after click on add item,add review.
I think you knew the the import demo had a problem because you wrote this in the forum : if your import is not completed, please download our theme again or replace this file ( http://javothemes.com/forum/knowledgebase/if-your-demo-is-not-imported-fully-please-replace-this-file/ ) we found some of them had a problem with import demo depends on download environment. this one works fine.

Anyway, i spent 6 hours to install, uninstall , i used the new file mentionned in your post but the import still not working.
I bought a lot templates there, this is the first time , i met some many troubles with your template.
JAVO DIRECTORY 2.0 is not ready for sale , too many bugs , impossible to use this template.
The problem was very short time and fixed all. please download the newest version and you don’t need to replace any files. if you still have the problem, please request installation on our support site.

Ok thank you i fixed the data import, but the problem of post an item, post an review still exists since the old version :member/admin/my-item-list was not found on this server.
Please see what Mike wrote on your ticket. your server doesn’t allow to rewrite .htaccess file (it mostly allow). you need to copy and paste the code via FTP or provide him a temporary FTP access.
