PHP 5.4 breaks theme. Overall fantastic theme, love using it. I have a couple plugins wanting PHP 5.4 to run (otherwise I cannot upgrade plugins). When I upgrade my hosting space to PHP 5.4 it breaks the theme (currently running 1.7), specifically the blog feed breaks. Has this been resolved in v1.8?
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing! The theme seems to be running fine on that version. Can you copy/paste the error that you get? Send us a private message if you prefer.
Cheers!
Hello, Pirenko
Your latest update v1.8 (which, by the way, what are the details for this update? When we click to see what this update entails, it just shows a blank screen, so we don’t know), the update seems to have broken your Extra Fonts, as my two are no longer working. They show as listed in the Extra Fonts, and also are still listed as choices in the General area of the Seven options, but they are not displaying on my website.
I even clicked and selected another two fonts, and saved them, and they worked, then went back and selected my two fonts, and still they do not.
Thank you, JPH
Hi,
You can see the theme changelog http://themeforest.net/item/seven-stylish-wordpress-theme/9409248
About this issue: we just tested that feature locally and it seems to be fine. Please send us a private message with the WP login details so that we can analyze this situation. Cheers!
“You can see the theme changelog…”
Oh, yeah… guess I just didn’t scroll down far enough… thank you
Don’t like the sound of that… as well as sending you my credentials… but, will do so now via email
Hi,
If you don’t want to share those it is ok, but in this case we will not be able to help you. Cheers!
Never mind, Pirenko, I figured it out…
I went in again and looked at the two fonts that were not working, in the Extra Font’s Management area, as they were still showing there, and looking at the Font URL column, it just dawned on me – wait, let me look on the server at that location…
And yep, sure enough, the v1.8 update just removed the two fonts’ webfontkit folders from the inc>fonts folder. Thankfully, so I didn’t have to go back to FontSquirrel and create them all over again, I had them saved on my computer, and so just simply re-uploaded them on the server via ftp, and boom! just like that, there were my fonts again!
So, all is good, and I am a happy camper
Hi,
This should have happened, because that folder was erased during the update process. There are multiple ways to update the theme, but if you do it by FTP and don’t erase the previous theme folder, this will not happen.
Anyway, I suggest that you put those fonts on a different folder in the future (suggestion: use the wp-uploads folder).
Thanks!
I can not figure out how to change the holder image on the slider for the counting slider and readers feed back please answer asap !!
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing! We can’t identify exactly what part you are talking about, but probably it is a row background image. If you still can’t figure something out please send us a private message.
Cheers!
I can not find that row can you show me
Hi,
We have just replied to your email. Thanks
Hello, How can I remove the “x Minutes reading” on the blog?
Hi,
You can hide it with some custom CSS. Send me a private message if you need help with this. Cheers!
Okay, just realized from not receiving any reply back yet, that my support comment posted last week is not even on here…
So, going to skip with the pleasantries this time on how much I really like the theme and get right to it, as now it’s a week later and I have a site to get up -
Font size – where can it be adjusted (increased or decreased)? I am finding no admin setting to do it, only font color change. And the style.css, where one could go to manually change it, is not even a style css but a description
And I’ll just leave it with that now, as I don’t want to go into the other stuff, just to see later that this support comment is again not here
Thank you, I truly really like your theme, as it is pretty much exactly what I was looking for, and look forward to getting it setup so as to have it be the face of my website.
All the best to you, JPH
Hi JPH,
Thank you for purchasing! I don’t know what happened to your previous comment… Here’s what I have to say:
1) Font size: you can add your custom CSS under Seven Options>Custom Scripts>Custom CSS. If you prefer to add them to a style.css please activate the child theme and then the theme will load the child css file;
Let me know if you need anything else. If it is some sort of customization please send me a private message through my profile page.
Cheers
Thank you, Pirenko.
Maybe just a quick explanation of what the child theme is. Is it like a copy of the theme, that is able, and recommended to be used, to customize? And how would I go about to activating it?
If to just simply insert the custom css into the provided area that you do provide in the admin customization area, would this be the correct way to put it for site wide (I am just somewhat familiar with css, html, etc.)? -
body, input, textarea {
font: 15px 'Tenderness', sans serif;
}
Really, I think that is pretty much it now as to questions, the rest I have kind of figured out by trial and error, and time spent figuring out how you did things via the thankful inclusion of those one-click install page sample templates that you provided.
Again, I really am excited about the theme and using it, just wish it had a tad better documentation as to what things are, and how to do things…
For example, as I stated in that disappearing initial support comment I left, my figuring out how the heck it was you made the homepage sample page that you did, with the leading full page image with the scroll down… I found that one could do that with a post, but not a page… and only through studying the page in the Visual Composer, that it was done by using a Slider, and it somehow linking to – ? I still really don’t know how the heck it all works, and again am just thankful that there is that sample page template that I can go by and customize to get it to work. Some explanation, tutorial, on all that I personally would find very helpful and useful.
Anyway, thank you for your theme, and assistance… I again look forward to having my site being run with your theme, because I know it will be awesome… just a better documentation for us in order to be able to fully be able to make it so, I would just suggest and appreciate also.
All the best to you, and thank you again, Pirenko. JPH
Hi,
The child theme is also included with the theme. You can read more about this here https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
About your code: it seems to be correct too. About the full page image with the scroll down arrow: it is not true that it can only be achieved with posts. There’s more than one way to set that up, be the easiest way is to set up a page and use the featured slider option (this option is located under the page content).
If you need more help in the future feel free to reach me. Cheers
Hi, how can I limit or define my sliders height on homepage?
Hi,
The sliders height depends on the image relative proportions and it varies according to the screen width. Apart from this you have the option to force a slider to occupy the whole screen height.
Cheers!
Hi, Is it possible leave the left side navigation always visible? so I don’t need to click the menu_trigger to display the menu. let me know thanks
Hi Jagoda,
Thank you for your interest! That option is not available for this theme. The closest thing I have on my portfolio is Astro: http://themeforest.net/item/astro-showcasephotography-wordpress-theme/6364365
Cheers!
Hi, Is it possible to switch on the developer id field on the settings?
Hi,
Thank you for your interest! If you are talking about the posted by text, yes that is possible. If it is something else please be more specific.
Cheers
There is an image on one of our pages that we would like to hide when viewing the site on mobile. Other themes using visual composer have a developer id field for this purpose on the settings for each element – there isn’t on this theme at the moment but can this be added?
Where did you buy the theme?
Hello,
Can you help with the navigation bar on mobile? http://hellomrandmrsvegan.com/
It’s not working and the button for mobile isn’t displaying. The theme options on Wordpress Dashboard isn’t working as well.
Can you please let us know what the problem is? I hope you give me a precise answer as I’ve asked for help before but the support you’ve given’s very vague.
Thanks.
Hi,
Please turn OFF all the plugins that are not included with the theme and try again. If you still have trouble send me a private message with the WP login details so that I can analyze this situation.
Also, what was the vague support thing about?
Cheers
Hello,
Okay. I think it was one of the plugins causing the issue for the SEVEN Options on Dashboard not showing up… can you check on this site: http://hellomrandmrsvegan.com and tell me how to make the navigation bar on the top responsive and centered? When it’s viewed on mobile, the navigation bar just mess’ up. Thanks!
Hi,
You seem to have added some custom CSS to change the menu position and it is messed up. Remove that code and the menu will assume the default position (aligned to the right).
Send me a private message if you need help with this.
Cheers!
Hello,
How do i disable the loading button? Theme IS SO SLOW to load.
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing! Is the theme preview slow for you? It is pretty fast for me here. If the theme preview is not slow for you please consider turning OFF all the plugins you may have.
Cheers!
Uhm, you didn’t answer my question… is there a way I could get rid of the Loading button?
You can hide it with CSS, but it does not affect loading time. Cheers!
Hello,
How do I remove the full width featured image on a single post? It’s really big and I just want a title at the top of a single post…
Thanks,
Hope you could help me out asap.
Hi,
Under the post content you have some options. One of them is “Skip featured image on single page and lightbox” so all you have to do is activate it.
Cheers!
Hello, thanks but is there an easier work around for this? Cause then I’d have to edit all of the post and I have like a thousand.
Well in that case you need to edit the single.php file. Thanks!
Well then can you please guide me through it? THanks!
Hi,
You need to know about coding and it is not just one or two lines of code. If you can’t do it you will have to hire someone for that change. Cheers!
Hi! This is really amazing wordpress theme, I have added your theme to my collection here 30+ Responsive Premium Portfolio WordPress Themes 2015 Cheers!
Hi,
Thank you very much for sharing! I noticed that my theme is the only that does not have any description
If you have a minute please add that info.
Cheers and good luck with everything
When Using the plain text blog layout that is stacked, when I hover over each item, the background does not change to the featured image.
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing! Please send me a private message with a link. Cheers!
Hi!
Nice theme
I have one question : In the portfolio (Settings : Post layout > Splitted // Portfolio parent page > Boxed), how to change the size of images ? I find that the standard size is too large.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing! You can reduce the content maximum width under Seven Options>General tab.
Cheers!
Thanks! Is there no one way to reduce just the image portfolios ? Instead of touching the width of the entire site.
Hi,
You can achieve this by adding some custom CSS to the theme options. Use the browser inspector to determine what needs to be changed. Send me a private message if you can’t do it.
Cheers
Thanks! For those interested, here is the code to add:
.item { width: 500px; }
Another question: when you click on a picture, is it possible to popup the file in lightbox ?
Hi,
That code may bring trouble on other pages and elements, because you are targeting all elements with that class. About your question: unfortunately that is not an option for this theme. Anyway, I’ll write a note and may add it on a future update.
Cheers!
Oh! I had not thought about it, thank you! What class does it mention then? MP ?
Thank you for the possible addition on this option
Hi,
I would suggest that you use this CSS selector instead:#prk_half_folio .item
Cheers
Gorgeous! Thanks!
Hey Pirenko..Thanks for the great theme! I just can’t seem to find the right settings to get a full-screen (parallax)slider at the top of any custom layout portfolio item. If I place a slider at the top it’s not full-width and I don’t see any option underneath to choose a slider as with normal pages.
You have it in your preview content, but it’s not included in the demo content.
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing! What you are seeing on that specific page is actually a row with the height set to 100%. So remove the slider and use this type of row (you can set the row properties when you click on the pencil).
Cheers!
Ok I almost got it. Except that you manage to have some sort of with class=”prk_inner_block columns small-centered clearfix” and a style that defines the height around your row. So I’ve tried putting a row inside a row etc, but nothing seems to work. If I simply put a styled title in the row with background and forced 100% height it doesn’t work. What’s your secret?
There’s no secret… You must be doing something wrong. Please send me a private message witht the WP login so that I can check this. Cheers!
I am having Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare() show up when I loaded the theme. What can i do to fix?
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing! The theme does not use that instruction and I don’t have any similar report… Please turn OFF all the plugins that are not included with the theme and try again. If you still have trouble send me a private message with the WP login details so that I can analyze this situation.
Cheers
Hey Pirenko,
Something went wrong with the plugins when i installed. I had to reload word press and now everything is perfect! Love the theme keep up the good work!
~ Glenn
Ok, thanks
Hey Pirenko,
First off thank you for a very nice theme that is generally very easy to work with; so for that, great job.
I do however have one question
in your demo pages (imported into the site for example purposes) you have on the main page (Homepage – Blog) a set of tabs in the visual editor. I have hunted high and low and I know the answer will be ridiculously obvious but how do I find them.
Also one note regarding the colors used for buttons in things like Call To Action 2 and GO Button. Would it be possible to add the ability to add custom colors at some point. Right now I’ve managed to change them via Page Bound CSS settings but would much rather have a cleaner way to do it.
Again thanks for a very good theme and keep up the great work.
Hi,
Thank you for purchasing and for your kind words!
You should find those tabs on the second row of that page content. I assume that you have Visual Composer active and that you are seeing the page content with the Backend Editor. Send me a private message with the WP login if you still have trouble finding them.
As for the button colors: the 2 elements you say have already some colors available and the Theme Button allows to use any color. In this case, if you have trouble please send me a private message with a screenshot of what you are trying to achieve.
Cheers!
Hi, my menu item with sub-menu itens are not working, they are all setup in menu like + Menu item – Submenu page – Submenu page But when I click on get the mouse over de menu item does nothing (projetos) instead of open a submenu item.
can you check this?
http://lucasaldi.com/site/Hi,
Thank you for purchasing! If you want to have a button opening a sub-menu you should create a custom link with ”#” as the link.
I wrote a small article about managing menus if you need help: http://www.pirenko.com/blog/2014/07/24/mastering-wordpress-menus/
If you still need help with this matter please send me a private message (you can write in Portuguese if you prefer).
Cheers
That’s perfect, thank you!
You are welcome
Seven is a fantastic theme and I’ve enjoyed using it. I do have one challenge, and it has to do with the mobile responsive menu layout.
I have number of items in the main navigation menu, when in you include the sub-menus. As you know, when pulling up the menu bar on an iPhone, the menu expands and occupies the whole screen. The problem arises when only the first 8 or so menu items are displayed, with the remaining ones stacked below (but not visible on the screen). This wouldn’t be a problem if you could then slide-to-scroll the menu up to see the items hidden below, but it doesn’t scroll, leaving the remainder of my menu inaccessible to mobile viewers.
Can you help me with this? Is this a theme issue or am I overlooking something?
Thanks, Matt.
Hi Matt,
Thank you for purchasing and good to know that you are enjoying the theme. About this issue: probably a fix is needed from my side. Please send me a private message with a link so that I can analyze this situation.
Cheers
Hello Pirenko,
After last update close button on fullscreen menu mode in firefox doesn’t work. Seems to be some JS problem. Please investigate this.
I still can’t give you link because my site is on localhost.
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for reporting this! It is fixed now… Please send me a private message for a quick fix too. Cheers!
