I have just updated the theme to its new version, (on our test site) and we have got some problems. code appears instead of images, etc

Hey, Salient v5.5 has separated Visual Composer into a plugin and is no longer automatically built in – this means when you activate the theme you’ll have to still install the Visual Composer plugin via the admin panel. It is included still with the theme and no purchase is necessary, just head to the plugins section of your admin panel to install & activate.

If you have nextar files copied in your child theme make sure they align with the current files in the parent theme

You guys are probably busy as little ninja bees… because this theme is super awesome.. But. I have 2 tickets open for quite a while now (one (#378161) is 2 weeks open and one (#383292) 6 days) and im running out of time.. so to speak.

Hey jluch, you already have a different Visual Composer installed – please deactivate that before activating the Salient version

Firefox and Safari – whatever this new visual composer is – my home page looks messed up in Safari but fine in Firefox. I am wondering if this new Salient version was really thought through and checked.
This new visual composer and update completely messed up all the pages on my entire site in Safari. Anything I created with visual composer – totally messes up now. I am speechless. I don’t think this new theme version was tested in Safari or Firefox. Do you guys have at least 1 Apple computer to test new versions of Salient in Safari?
I had to revert back to Salient 5.0 as there are more bugs than I ever imagined in this latest version. It needs to be tested on all browsers and the iPhone and other mobile devices.

1. There’s no known Firefox specific bugs – have you cleared your cache and can you see these issues on the demo as well? Please elaborate on what you’re seeing a bit more
2. No browser specific issues have been reported so far and I can’t seem to see a difference in Safari for the demo’s, please share your URL in regards so I can see what you’re experiencing
I can’t even use the latest version. Had to revert back to the prior version of Salient. Not good. Your demo is your demo. It’s not one of our sites. My site is live and I can’t trouble shoot it all. I saw what I say and it was not good. I don’t know what will be with this theme and prior Salient version sites. It’s not good. Big problem.
Keep in mind though that Salient is my favorite theme
Is there anyway you can provide an example showing these issues on a staging server? Even though I can’t replicate them myself I’d still be more than happy to see what’s going on with your setup before I push the next minor update

The new Nectar Slider version with the arrows is not working in Firefox.
Have you tested this in Firefox?
When clicking the arrows, they don’t go to the next slide.
This really needs to be fixed and a new Salient version releases.
It works in Safari and Chrome but not in Firefox.

I thought it was mentioned that in the latest update that we’d have the option to keep portfolios separate when scrolling through. It appears to still be doing this. Currently I have two portfolios (commercial and personal). Commercial is first and when you get to the last portfolio item it allows you to scroll to the first item in the personal portfolio. I would prefer that it did not do this. Can you advise.

Hello I bought the theme , i’m trying to import the one page dummy data .. it is working but it is not very nice to see , I mean I’ve got lots of code into the page (home) like this ( [vc_row type= »full_width_background » bg_position= »left top » bg_repeat= »no-repeat » text_color= »light » text_align= »center » scene_posit) in all the page and the icons are BIG … I tried uninstalling , installing .. re-importing .. same thing … I followed the video tut … ummm I’m sure you’ve seen this right ?
In fact one page or not .. when I import any .xml I’ve got code all over .. what am I doing wrong ?

1. The latest update adds the possibility for this, yes.
2. Add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

3. You’d have to upload the images at 2x the regular size – but if you wanted different sizes to be served on different devices you’d need to use a plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-retina-2x/

We’re using the single page navigation option on our site (http://picturesmith.uk). Three links are anchors on the homepage, and three are for separate pages. As soon as any of the single page links are selected, all of the anchor links are highlighted.
I saw some comments relating to this bug but they were 5 months old, can you let me know if this has been resolved, or how I can rectify it?

I’ve noticed that embedding youtube videos cause them to be automaticly resized to max width – is there a way to disable it or limit max width of videos so they resize lets say to max 500px width instead of sometimes huge sizes taking whole screen?

Hey, ever since Isotope was updated, the portfolio filtering hasn’t worked in PrettyPhoto. It seems to be caused by the fact that the filtering still uses .isotope-item and .isotope-hidden in the selector to assign a new unique ID in updatePrettyPhotoGallery, but the portfolio items no longer seem to have these classes.

Thanks for the great theme! I have installed LayerSlider WP and I am facing one issue, set the slider to be the main in my home page, yet there’s a big margin of about 35px between the slider and the top menu of my site and also between the slider and the next row below it.

I have contacted the slider creators and they said the margin is set by the them. Appreciate your support and help here as I have found no solution how to modify that.
