Hi there, I bought the Wordpress-Version of this theme and would like to know where I can get the graphics / vectors you were using for the demo :). Love the style.

Best, Leo

Hey there,

Do you mean the photography?

The came from shutterstock mainly :)

Hey thanks for the reply. No I mean the vector graphics of the keyboard and stuff laying around on a table. Do you know what I mean?

Ah right – that’s a freebie from Graphic Burger – grab it here: http://graphicburger.com/flat-mockups-desk-items/

Does this work with your other themes as well? The elements? Can we purchase all of them and have them work together?

Hey there,

No unfortunately, they are separate products and work independently of one another

Awesome theme!

One thing that I am experience is problem with the right clicking on the image and edit links etc, the pop up doesn’t stay up.

I am on a MacBook Pro with Chrome.

Thanks!

Hi there,

This is a known issue on Mac trackpads, just enable right click through the sue of ‘2 finger click’ or ‘bottom right hand’ click through the system preferences on your machine

Thanks for purchasing!

Need more pricing blocks? :)

Hey there, thanks for the FB, got any examples in mind?

Hi I just purchased the theme. I’ve uploaded the folder titled ‘Pivot 2.0.2’ to my server.

From there, how do I begin building pages?

Here is where I have uploaded the files here: http://dalkhera.com/dalnijjar/Pivot/

Thanks Dal

Hello,

No need to upload the builder, you can run it locally from builder.html inside the variant folder :) just open it in your browser (Chrome or FF)

the offscreen menu doesn’t work well on mobile single page navigation. Can you check if there is an issue with this?

Hi,

We will look into it. Can you please explain exactly what is the problem you are experiencing?

James

Wow, I saw this template. Look’s so great. Have a simple animation and make it look’s clean.

Hi,

Can you implement an Image upload functionality? Copying and Pasting images in img folder is tedious. If i can directly upload and select right from the edit image option would be a great idea!

Thanks

Hi there,

Thanks for the feedback. This is one of the caveats of having a builder that works entirely offline and comes packaged with the builder. This may change down the track :)

Hi

I am trying to style a form. Could you let me know how I would style SELECTS, like you have styled for INPUT’S?

Many Thanks

Hey there,

To style the select the same, just copy the input styling from the CSS and make the same rules for ‘select’ elements. Pop these in your custom.css file so they don’t get overridden when you update the template :)

Nice idea the builder.

It would be nice if we can combine different blocks in the builder, so I can copy elements from one block into another block.

Also, in my opinion its should be easy handle form element, I couldn’t duplicate and align more fields together.

Would be also great to handle more google fonts from builder and also to add specific font to specific elements.

Thanks

Hey there,

Thanks for your feedback! We are always trialling new things with the builder and will take your reccomendations into account. We do have plans to make block management more flexible :)

Just sending some mad props to you Melbourne boys at Medium Rare. These builders are the shiz.

I’ve dropped Wordpress as a platform for developing sites. I’ve adopted your gorgeous Variant system and with a lil’ mix of hand coding it does everything I could ever want. Most of all I can get stuff done seriously fast!

Love ya’s!

This has to be up there in the best comments we’ve ever received! Thank you!

We’ve got more awesome templates and Variant features up our sleeves so watch this space :)

Cheers!

Pre-purchase question: Are you able to create and save custom HTML content blocks? Also, is there any type of View Source mode?

Hi, No, at this time there is no function to create your own custom blocks INSIDE the builder, however, you are welcome to edit builder.html to customise blocks to be however you want so you can insert your customised blocks anywhere. Also you could add your own new custom blocks to builder.html however this is undocumented and unsupported.

You can view source at any time but this is a one-way process. Content editing may only take place inside variant and HTML/code is not editable in Variant. Variant can only import .variant files, which contain saved page layouts and content that was created previously inside Variant.

James

Appreciate the response, James. So, to be clear – you’re saying that I’m able to manually modify a file OUTSIDE of the builder and add my custom HTML blocks that will be usable INSIDE the builder the next time I load?

Any chance you’re going to implement live code editing for those of us who are familiar with code? If you’re not planning to implement in public version, is this a feature you could be paid to implement privately for me?

That’s right – if you’re comfortable editing builder.html you can put together some custom stuff that will then appear on next load. No live code editing yet but it is something that is in the pipeline. We can’t do this as a paid feature, sorry.

Hi!

I want to save .variant file as well so that I can save it for now and use that later if I want some changes.

Thanks Sheikh Naveed

Hi, please open a ticket on mediumrare.ticksy.com and I will help you there. Please upload your .variant file so I can have a look also. Thanks, James.

I had submitted ticket there but didn’t get reply. How can I track that?

Hey Sheikh, this ticket has been replied to

Your support page doesn’t work

Hello,

It is up and running again now.

Thanks for the heads-up, James

Hi there! Brilliant with Page Builder!

How I clone the Youtube video box in http://www.mediumra.re/pivot/variant/builder.html The BLOG MASONRY Template. The clone is always the complete template.

Best, Rene

Sorry this is a bug in Pivot, there is an error on that particular section. Please open a ticket on our support forum at mediumrare.ticksy.com and I will send you a fixed builder.html file that will work for you.

James

PIVOT BUG FIX 2.0.2

Version 2.0.2 available for download – fixes the saved nav issue where saved navs could not be loaded.

Only changed file is variant/js/init.js so you can just drop that file in to your working copy.

James

Hello,

I’m very impressed with the Pivot theme + Variant builder. Lots of options and great flexibility.

However, I cannot seem to create the navigation menu I want (either using Variant or editing the HTML directly in a text editor).

I would like to create a nav menu that looks exactly like the “Offscreen Nav” version—navbar fixed to top of screen and logo/nav icon change from light to dark as the user scrolls down the page. BUT – I want to mimic the functionality of the “Fullscreen Nav” (i.e., fullscreen menu opens when user clicks on nav icon).

Is that possible with the Pivot theme? How would I accomplish this?

Thank you, Matt Duchek

Pivot has been designed to include one menu at a time. Sorry but we can’t provide support to customise at this level.

Hi, i got problem with my export. i can’t see the export icons, actually I’m using SAFARI BROWSER, when i try use Google Chromes its work, but my Primary browser is Safari, actually I’m not install Google Chromes on my mac and i don’t need Google chrome i think, so can u fix that problem.

Hello,

The export function is not possible in Safari, as the download file function is not supported… This is only possible in Chrome and Firefox. That is why you cannot see it. In Safari you can get HTML only, not a .variant file.

James

Some frustrating issues I’ve encountered over the past few days:
  • Title tags don’t save with saved templates, ever. On refresh they revert back to “Edit title tag”
  • My custom nav and footer that I created now don’t load anything into the template at all, so now I have to redo them all. I get some JS errors that look like this: GET file:///Users/Kevin/Documents/Code/Pivot/Pivot%202.0.1/variant/undefined net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND -> Where are variant templates stored? Browser localstorage? I hope not, because I really would like to manage/share/collab on these using Github.
  • Changes I make to my pages in Variant aren’t always saved. Last night I made a bunch of content edits that have completely disappeared this morning when I re-loaded the template

Really love the design and flexibility but it’s been a pretty traumatic experience with all the progress I’ve lost over the past few days..

Now my templates are overwriting each other. I’ve lost 2 entire pages with the same error as the nav—js net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND. This makes me look really bad, guys.. :/

Hi, sorry you are having these problems. Please open a ticket on our support system so we can best help you. James

The nav bar issue has been patched in latest update 2.0.2 now available for download. James
