theme doesn’t come with page builder so you are a bit limited with adding extra custom elements (the best option would probably be visual composer or something similar). You can have slider, 3 posts and about us section (not visible in preview) where you can add images and text.

Zarja is already in the final queue on Themeforest, it’s more up to how fast it will be reviewed, but I expect it will be online next week .

As for the image formats, currently there are only options for full width and sidebar blog. But you can choose not to shot featured image, and then just show images of your own custom sizes in the post excerpt. Our newest theme (still in development) uses a 3 column grid for post display, maybe you need something like that?

2. these are custom images and the content is added via theme’s admin panel, they can be linked to anything you want (you add a custom link).

3. yes that is possible, any combination like that is possible, you just check what you want to appear on the home page.

various aspects can affect that. We don’t use caching or minifying scripts and css on live demo. Also I use images of very good quality with as few compression as possible. It also depends from where it is tested.

I tested with pingdom tools and it loaded in 1.3 seconds and is faster then 84% of tested sites so considering all of the above that’s pretty good:
