Hi Qode, I downloaded the new update for the Eden theme and it seems that I can’t upload it. Everytime I try to do it this message shows up: “Something went wrong with the site caching! Please try refreshing this page, that should fix the issue.” (But it doesn’t solve anything) I hope you reply soon, I don’t know that to do now. Thanks, Giulia

Hi Qode, I purchased your theme yesterday and It’s absolutely stunning. However, I’d like to report you a few issues I had and ask your feedback on them.

1) Once installed, the following warnings are displayed:

I found on this comments page some users reporting the same problem one month ago (March 2015) but you provided no solution (at least publicly). The issue is triggered by line 43 in functions.php: include_once(‘export/qode-export.php’); looking in the directory export, there is no file qode-export.php. So I guess that the include_once function cannot find it. One of the users reporting this said that commenting that line solved the problem. I did it too and it worked, and I don’t see any collateral effect. However It would be nice if you clear what that line is needed for and if it’s safe to comment it. I wonder if it’s required for something, because in today’s update (25 april 2015) you didn’t fix the issue, leaving that line uncommented.

2) The demo content import process is not efficient, as reported by many users. The amount of demo content is such that your proprietary import tool hangs during the process. I personally tested the import process on 3 different hosts (Site5, Dreamhost, Tophost). On the Site5 and Dreamhost It required 3-4 tries to get to 100%, while on Tophost it was impossible to finish it (20+ tries, best % achieved was 70%). I am aware that this is not your tool being flawed but a time limit issue (as reported also in the FAQ inside documentation and told to the users reporting the problem). The point is that while the user can touch the time limit in wp-config.php and htaccess, many consumer hosting providers don’t let you customise php.ini and might not be willing to do it for you. Even if they do, the user is forced to open a ticket and wait the answer. Since you spent time implementing a proprietary import tool, I wonder if it would be possible to improve it in order to make the process less problematic. It looks like the tool imports groups of attachments, and when it hangs and it’s restarted is sort of able to resume the process. It however looks like that the resume itself is quite time consuming, so when it starts downloading the missing groups of attachments it’s already near time limit and memory limit.

3) Once imported everything, the menu is flawed: the colors are not like the demo that I see here, and the functionality is half broken. As you can see on screen 1, the space looks empty and the logo image doesn’t load. http://i.imgur.com/6SEptlm.jpg Actually, the menu is there, as you can see on screen 2. Note that the wide menu doesn’t appear wide as it should: it’s not wide, it’s without icons, the title of the column is not white. Also the current active page is not highlighted by the blue marker on top. http://i.imgur.com/JnYtPWc.jpg Going into Qode Settings and resetting to defaults solves the color/img issue, but the wide menu is still broken and the active page marker doesn’t appear: http://i.imgur.com/AuF1rdt.jpg What’s happening there? Also, the social icons and all the footer stuff doesn’t appear as in the demo, but I guess that’s a widget matter that has to be manually configured.

4) A mechanism to export/import Qode settings would be useful. I read that it exists and that you provide it on request. Should I open a ticket on your platform to get it? Why don’t you provide it out of the box?

5) After import, in Appearence/Menus I see 3 menus: 1:top_menu (Top Navigation), that is the active one. 2:top_menu 3/7/2014, which looks the same 3:top_menu 3/7/2014, which is empty. What are 2 and 3? Can they be deleted?

6) Included plugins: LayerSlider says “You need to authorize this site in order to get upgrades or support for this plugin. Purchase a license or enter an existing purchase code.” And also “It seems you’ve received LayerSlider by a theme. Please note that the auto-update feature only works if you’ve purchased the plugin directly from us on CodeCanyon.” So there is no way to activate the site, I should get the updates inside new releases of the Eden theme, right?

First, the theme works very well, thanks. However, I have few questions here:

1. On the portfolio main page, in “full width grid” style, is that possible to have the full square clickable instead of just the title?

2. On the Qode slider, can we change how much time each slide stay on screen? (would like the first video slide to stay until the video end)

3. On the Qode slider, is there a way to link a video on vimeo for example, instead of a direct .mp4 link?

I like very much eden theme, but I would like to be able to simplified it a bit: 1. Is is possible to set “full page slider” and to erase everything that goes after including the footer? (as architecture photographer I just need header with menu and your fill page slider to expose my photos full screen making sure they are not cropped) 2. Can I set the theme to support second language? 3. Can I hide the sharing block on the right and shift the main menu toward right?

we`ve have a problem with a button in Qode slider on android devices – phones and tablets. Button is not working on tap, if I made long tap I`ve got a menu with “open in tab”, ”..new window”, etc options; but on normal click(tap) its not working. hi i bought your theme last year, today i upgraded wordpress to 4.1.1 and i upgraded your theme at the last version available. Unfortunately now i’m unable to use WP Bakery on backend editor.. i can add rows and elements but when i hit save it’s ruining my template, i can’t modify any element without receiving these errors…

Can’t quite decide which Qode theme I prefer best. Bridge seems to be super flexible with so many templates but I still like the look of Eden best.

I have a question about the single portfolio page with the floating sidebar on all themes. Can I put a button like ‘sign up now’ somewhere on the single portfolio page in the sidebar area? Can I use Visual Composer features in this area? On all the Qode demos it seems to be just text… :/

Also is it possible to put Google maps in tabs? Like showing 2 office locations in different cities?
