I’m trying to upgrade.
I read the help file:
Salient v5.5 separated Visual Composer into a plugin and it is no longer automatically built in – this means when you activate the theme you’ll have to still install the Visual Composer plugin via the admin panel. It is included still with the theme and no purchase is necessary, just head to the plugins section of your admin panel to install & activate. Cheers!
How and where do I install the visual composer plugin?

It’s located in the plugins section of your admin panel in the Salient options panel – if you don’t see it there you could also find it directly in the plugins folder within your theme to manually install

i just noticed if I change to view my browser minimised to half the width of my monitor it shows more of the image,
its just at full width on my wide screen of my computer it does not show the top and bottom of each image as much,
i suspect on my clients computer that it should be fine as they have smaller monitors.
i think that effectively solves the problem

My site is having problems in Firefox. The home page header image does not load, instead a blank space remains. I’m using a fixed image, not a slider. Also the gallery images on portfolio pages do not load, instead the page keeps loading infinitely. When you reload the page, everything then loads properly.
I’ve tested this on 4 separate machines using Firefox and the same problems occur. In Internet Explorer the problems do not occur.

I’ve tested it in Firefox on several more machines. Sometimes everything works fine, it just takes a while to load, other times it never loads. There doesn’t seem to be continuity on when things load properly.

So far I haven’t been able to replicate this on my end or with browserstack – is there a specific version of FF this occurs on? Also, can you see this occurring on the live demo as well?

To Jo_b. Salient does work with 4.2.2 with no issues. My site is running without any problems. Please read the documentation from upgrading salient from 4.8 to 5.5. There is a huge theme change as to how visual composer is used. You have to enable the visual composer plugin separately it is not incorporated with the theme anymore.

We just updated to Wordpress to Version 4.2.2.
Our Salient 4.8 works in this combination, but is quite s-l-o-w.
Then we updated Salient from 4.8 to 5.5.51 and then our site was all messed up. The visual composer didn’t show up anymore, scripts didn’t work anymore…
So we had to return to the slow Salient 4.2 :-/
Can you please help?

Our developer hide it but we are afraid that this could cause some problems in the future.
Also I’m not being able to customize some stuff as the Accent colors, the top menu bar or the header font styles.

1. We downloaded the 5.5 from evanto last week and installed the plugin when we saw the notice in the admin panel but it did not fix the warnings. Any other recomendation?
5.5.52 was released two days ago – please ensure you’re on that version by checking your theme version in the Salient options panel

The font used is called Lovelo and it’s available in your typography options tab of the Salient options panel – however if you’d like me to log in to verify everything please open a ticket in regards at https://themenectar.ticksy.com

First, thank you very much for this amazing, easy to use, and good loking theme.
I’ve encountered the first problem with this theme since i’ve bought it. I’ve purchased Ultimate Addons for VC, and a lot of modules don’t work. Contacted their support, and it’s a VC problem, i need to update VC to 4.5, I installed the “stock” version, but Salient doesn’t work properly without the modified VC version.
This issue it’s an emergency to me, I had to finish my new website this week, and i need the ultimate addons modules working. Can you please give me a solution to use stock vc, or an update to the salient vc? I really need it. I’ve read that you’ll be releasing it in the next update, any ETA? Maybe you can email me that plugin when you update it.

The only known issue with using the stock VC is that the font awesome doesn’t load correctly but there’s an easy fix for that – you will indeed lose some of Salients custom elements though. What other issues wee you encountering with the raw plugin?

Nevermind, couldn’t wait to an update, I already switched to another theme.
Please consider supporting addons for VC as a next update, it’s a shame because i really liked this theme.
I won’t give a bad rating to salient, but please consider a better way to implement Visual composer.

I am trying to change the color (both normal and hover state) of “to top” button, located in footer, using CSS.
I did it for normal state, using this:

But can’t figure out how to set hover state, I have made a lot of tries, including this:

... but without any success

Actually the problem comes from the fact I am using page’s ID

when remove that ID it works, but I need to set this only for that page … I guess I am missing something

I’ve got a Nectar Slider that has 4 slides on auto rotate at the speed of 5000 which is perfect. But my first slide is a 15 second video that doesn’t get to play the whole video. How can I have have the first slide play the whole video and then have the rest of the image slides remain with the speed of 5000? Hey – the loop option simply means that once you reach the last slide, in your case the fourth one, that it won’t go back to the first by clicking the right arrow (you need to go back using the left arrow)
Correct. I think I’m saying that I do NOT want my Nectar slider to loop. I also have the loop option NOT checked and it is still looping. Is there css that I can force it to not loop? Thanks!
Hey again! It doesn’t apply for the autorotate function if that’s what you’re referring to – to remove that, if would require modding to the nectar-slider.js file located in the js folder
I’m having trouble getting the nectar slider to display full screen. I have tried using the short code generator and the visual editor and the slider only takes up about 60% of the browser. am I missing something?
Never Mind, I had the slider inside a separate row I think this was the problem. Working fine now.
