I’m sorry, but that doesn’t seem like a solution. I was hoping you would tell me whether or not you plan on updating the theme VC or if I have to just dump Salient and chalk it up as a loss. The VC version in Salient has been an issue since I bought it. It has never been completely up to date with the VC version.

Had I known this was going to be such an ongoing issue, I would have never purchased the theme, nor would I have recommended it to any of my clients.

So is there an ETA on that update, or should I just move on to another theme that has not integrated VC into their theme, so I can always keep VC up to date with the latest release from WP Bakery?

The Salient VC doesn’t use any of those link elements such as the Button or Call to Action Button which is probably why no one has mentioned it yet to me – I have indeed noted to sort it for the next update

Right, it is part of the root VC plugin. I know it is not directly relevant to the Salient VC Modules. However, you have packaged the entire plugin into the Salient Visual Composer. And WP Bakery has released an update to fix the Link API issue on their root. A suggestion for moving forward may be to separate the theme’s VC elements into an Addon for VC so VC can be updated separately, without affecting the Salient VC. I’m also a WordPress plugin developer. and we have found that extending plugins through Addons is the best way to proceed. Just a suggestion.

Hey – could you try changing the row types to “full width background” instead of the in container setting they currently have? You’ll need to enter in some top/bottom padding values as well, but that should clear the issue

ok but this shows that you CANNOT click on an item in the portfolio and have multiple images appear but what about doing it like this?

Here you have all your portfolio items and then you click on one and a new page opens with info and MULTIPLE IMAGES under one project from the original portfolio

On the single project page you can have as many images as you’d like – you could also place galleries as well via the visual composer image gallery element

Ok, its work with the simple gallery style, but i prefer the nectar sliders arrows and navigation – is there any solution to use nectar slider style without the scaled images?

The problem I am having is the slider images on mobile version are not scaled correctly. I am using the nectar slider with the flexible slider height option – but its still cropped in mobile view. Please help me to solve this problem, if its possible.

Definitely! Probably better than a mockup would be to point you to an example of one. Check out http://www.harvard.edu. The slider has a ‘partial’ view of the next and a previous slide on either side. Of course it’s also responsive and that partial view is removed on mobile devices. I know there are some slider only plugins that do this but before I drop any money on those I wanted to see if that was something that could easily be done with Nectar Slider.

It has the Nectar Slider, a text area, blog posts in Masonry style, a “view the full blog” link. I want almost exactly that but I want to add portfolio items in there as well. How do I set that up?

Hey – those are all elements in the Visual Composer which could be easily added from the page builder. You could also import the dummy data for that setup to get the page – did you ever end up opening a ticket for the issue you were having around setting the home page in settings > reading?

I did open a ticket. They disabled all my plugins, reinstalled visual composer and it worked. I have been reenabling plugins again and it seems to be working. Must have been a conflict!

Each portfolio item in a masonry display also has data attributes for which category it belongs to which could be used to target certain items specifically – could you kindly share the URL of the page your portfolio lives on so I can write a sample for you?

Yeah, I tried adding a function and then trying to emulate the regular and wide options for the portfolio, but it was a bit messy and seems I had to edit several files, In the end I was missing something.

I’ll use a gallery script for this particular case, specially because of the icons I want to add to certain images.

More over, I have twice the copyright in the footer. I know the one time it was me that I set it from footer options. Where from comes the other?

I have to say I am a bit confused.

I want a different slider in each page. I have created the sliders and I have set the ‘transparent header option in your theme options panel > header tab’ off, as mentioned above. But, I still get the slider under the menu! If I set this option on, some part of the slider is hidden under the menu. Any suggestions?

One more question: is it possible to have a single menu item e.g id=”menu-item-3206” bigger than the others?
