There is an overlay class on the background image which applies a darkened colour using the “before” attribute. Find the appropriate CSS for the section you are using and change the opacity to 0. Any further questions please open a ticket on mediumrare.ticksy.com.

Sorry but it is not possible to take blocks from one template and import to another. This is due to CSS being quite different between both templates.

Nope, but my problems went from small to big. I ask someone to tweak and he hacked in a solution. What was supposed to be 20 min fix turned into hours and not looking good. Also, that nav bar script you implemented for me, causes other issues. I will open a ticket now because this guy isn’t getting it corrected.

Yes, you would need to make this change in the builder.html file to see the change inside the builder. The intention is that you assemble your page, then export as HTML and .variant and if you’d like changes made to the blocks in Variant, you’d need to edit them in builder.html

sorry, he said that if he will do custom work to the pivot theme, there is no way to to make the file again as .variant after he export it to html. so how can e bring it back to .variant to allow the admin edit the changes within pivot builder, and not as html code

That is correct, and this is not the intention of Variant. We intend for Variant to produce a page after editing content, and for any customising to be done afterwards. Variant does not support importing customised pages back in (not in .html files)

If you want customisations to be available in the builder, you need your developer to edit the builder.html file before making the pages.

I did put in /img directory on server. I even overwrote the default logo but it doesn’t show. Clicking red box to refresh doesn’t do anything after uploading to directory.

Sorry, but Variant is not designed to be run online so you should try this again locally, then export your html page and upload it.

nevermind I fixed it. But I have another issue – the countdown looks cluttered on mobile – and numbers get overlayed on top of each other – how can I fix this?

The smoothscroll code you see relates to in-page scrolling between links on the menu. This is used when you edit the name of a section in Variant. After you edit a section name, you have the option to link to that section within the page. Smoothscroll provides the animation to that point on the page.

Ah right, I’m sorry but I’m really not au faix with how tumblr code / markup works so I can’t give you a definite answer.

Sorry to hear you lost all your pages! Variant stores data in ‘browser storage’ which, depending on your settings, may be deliberately erased (along with cookies etc.) upon exiting the browser. Can you confirm if this is the case? There is an option to export all pages and content to a .variant file for safekeeping at any time. This can be reimported later if your browser deletes the storage. Once again I’m sorry you have had a frustrating experience, but I’m afraid if you did not export to a .variant file, the pages are lost.

I’m not 100% sure what you’re asking here. With the download you can build HTML pages using the builder and then upload them to your own existing hosting, there is no domain name or hosting included with the template.

To run the builder, just open up builder.html from the variant folder in the download package. Then you can begin building pages using the builder.

Currently the modules don’t accept iframe code – this would be something you’d need to in pure HTML once you’ve built the page.

That’s odd given the headers use the ‘header’ tag, Google should usually understand this structure. Try changing the h1 from the footer to a h2.
