These seem like cache errors that i cannot reproduce, can you try clearing the cache?

I guess you got your version via the envato bundle – a major update has been released since but you won’t be able to download it without a valid individual purchase licence.

I am currently working on implementing a blog section to the theme. This will include disqus comments, so i guess you could either put the content you want comments for in the blog, or add the disqus functionality to the portfolio details page.

Yes there is a setting in the theme options panel to change this wording.

Vimeo videos work fine too!

Thanks for the question, somewhat in the MODx 2.3 does not appear -> System -> Package Management

If you don’t see the Theme Options, you need to manually install the “ClientConfig” package in the package manager. For some reasons it doesn’t import all the time when installing.

PS: the blog functionalities & disqus comments are not implemented yet on the theme – and you won’t be able to download an update version without a valid purchase code.

Alternatively, instead of charging for the installation, you could purchase a licence of the theme and then get access to free updates and support.

Yeah, i was suggesting this because the bundle doesn’t give you access to future updates, and the comments feature is not implemented yet, so you would not have had access to it.

Thank you for all your comments, which all make sense. I will take them into consideration when releasing the next update.

Regarding AJAX, there are no AJAX-loaded pages in this theme – the single portfolio items are opening in a new HTML page. You can use any bootstrap goodie in these pages too.

I am not sure i understand your last point regarding the child resources. If you are looking in creating blog posts that open in a new page, i am currently building a basic blog structure to add to the theme. This would be a simple list of posts with different categories. Comments would be handled via disqus.

The answer to both your questions is yes, but it requires some customisations.

Are you comfortable with Bootstrap’s markup for carousel sliders? The answers of both questions resides in that code.

Arrows

The code for the navigation arrows is the < !- controls – > portion of the code you can find in here: http://getbootstrap.com/javascript/#carousel

The testimonial slider is actually using the arrows – and it’s the same carousel slider code for the image galleries, so you can try find the code in the testimonials section chunk and apply to the image galleries.

Actually i might add it to a future update, so if you’re patient it may come to you.

Hero Slider

To turn the hero section in slider in a proper MODX way, you would need to create some TVs (template variables) and use them to upload the image, heading text, sub heading, buttons, link target etc, assign these TVs to a new template, create your slider items via this template and then use gerResources to loop through them and map it to the carousel.

Sounds complicated, but it’s basically how the testimonial slider is working, so again you can look in there for inspiration.

Modx is really great but has plenty of mysteries left for me to discover so I know for sure that at the moment the Hero Slider part is too complicated for me. If I really need it then I will let you know. Maybe a nice addition to the Hero part; a fade in effect for the image.

I will try if I can achieve the arrow part, that seems less hard. And otherwise I have to wait for you update

Will add it eventually. For the hero fade-in, you could set the #parallax div, in the custom css resource, to

#parallax { display: none; }

and then add the following jQuery to the JS file that is created as a resource in the MODX document tree:

$('#parallax').delay(2000).fadeIn(2000);

What this will do is wait 2 seconds (while the image loads – you can modify the delay duration) and then fade it in in 2 seconds.

At the moment, the newsletter field is setup with the FormIt package, and submissions are saved in the admin via FormSave.

Not sure how virtunewsletter works, but there is probably a way to add the submisison from the newsletter field into the mailing list from virtunewsletter.

The gallery is made with the jQuery Isotope plugin.
