We are actually gearing up to create quality themes in the very near future….try reading your own comments ?...should we provide links when the comments section of your theme are accessible to all including yourself ? Please focus on the comments made as to “upgrading the buddy plugin” if this might help you further….as well – there are quite a few things that will cause issues with uploading themes into a server with WordPress but in order for us to install your theme – we couldn’t just install “Buddytheme.zip” straight up…we had to extract the zip file then go into the folder to find buddy plugin then compress to zip…That’s what fixed it…Rest assured it’s understood that developers can’t provide a “one size fits all” solution as known…However within the next year when we do start with frameworks that we do test our codes throughout as many devices as can…the rating is for the extreme troubles and as well the “ease of use”..In the end it’s realized that this minimal theme was a waste of money..You mentioned it was our server that blocked Buddy.zip from being installed when I stated the server detected malicious code within buddy.zip under the buddytheme.zip.. It’s funny that when we unzipped “buddytheme.zip” and added the buddy plugin from within the folder then recompressed – the server installed theme and plugins at this point..After installing many other themes – this was a first..Goodluck to you though

As I said, I searched through the comments and couldn’t find anything related to what you said which is why I asked for a link to them since you had already found them.
I’m very confused as to what you issue is, originally you said you couldn’t install the Buddy Plugin, but now you’re saying you couldn’t install the Buddy theme, but I should search for “upgrading the buddy plugin” even though this has nothing to do with your issue as you were not upgrading the plugin. Anyway I’m glad you have it work now.
When installing the theme you need to unzip the buddy-theme.zip file and install the buddy.zip file – this is explained the theme documentation.
It was definitely confusing but no harm no foul…when first downloading the theme we extracted the zip file then attempted to upload the buddy theme zip that was within the main zip….several times upon loading the theme – the theme would load up however buddy plugin would not each time…I was receiving email from ionos hosting that it had detected malicious code each time buddy plugin would not install…I went to the comments and noticed a few stating buddy upgrades or buddy plugin issue….after a day we decided to create a buddy theme zip using files within the main zip and at that point the zip installed completely…we did get installed but for some reason it didn’t like buddy plugin within buddy theme.zip…i will say this is the first time trying out ionos…however it did finally install after we created the zip file..
If this is still confusing or you might like more info as to which files we used in the main downloaded zip to create buddytheme.zip to get it to work just email…As for now it’s installed..good luck with sales…
Thanks for information. As I say nobody else has had an issue where their host has flagged the Buddy Plugin for malicious code. Of course there’s been other issues with the Buddy Plugin, but not your issue. I’ll rezip the plugin to ensure it wasn’t corrupt and this should hopefully prevent this issue for other customers in the future.

I’m very new to wordpress. The Buddy Theme is within my budget. I just want to create a simple social media site where users can post bogs or posts like Wattpad. I have no coding experience. Yes I would say this theme is very beginner friendly. The social user features are part of the BuddyPress plugin. You can try and use this plugin with any theme so I would suggest testing it out to make sure the BuddyPress plugin is right for you.
Hi, This is a pre-sale questions,
1. Is this just a plain theme without any plugins
2. Does the theme comes with membership plugin?
3. Does it comes with bbpress, buddypress plugins? etc
4. Why the DateBox shown 2002-03-03 and not by the actual age? I.e: 30 , 45 etc?
5. There are left/right sidebar on the members page, etc, is this default?

1) The demo is using plugins, including BuddyPress and bbPress.
2) No.
3) The theme doesn’t come with these plugins – no theme does. These are free plugins you install separately.
4) This is a profile field created by the BuddyPress plugin. You can add an age field instead.
5) Yes, you can change this from the theme options.

I like the sounds of BP integration. Not really sure by integration, I am using simple theme like the Twenty-nineteen, I see the BP is working. But I do like that quick page load .

What’s wrong with the Buddy plugin ? Just downloaded this theme last night and all plugins seem to install fine except Buddy plugin.. When trying to install I get error message stating Buddy plugin needs a higher version ? Also no option to import demo data..Heck of a way to start off a template purchase

Hi, can you please show in the demo a user added image to activity stream? It’s very important. You just show user added videos. In your Socialize and Aardvark themes user posted images in activity stream appear squashed small – not very attractive. I want to make sure images are correctly resized in the activity stream of Buddy theme before I purchase. Thanks

Socialize and Aardvark use the rtMedia plugin to add images. This is not installed in the Buddy demo, because this is a much more lightweight theme. The plugin will work with the theme, but it has not been styled to look as nice as Socialize and Aardvark.
Also I don’t see any small or squashed images in Aardvark to Socialize, are you able to take a screenshot of this, as this will be fixed.
Before I buy this. I have a few questions:
1. Can the colors of the site be changed (white background, sidebar, topbar, top menu, etc) – if so what can be changed?
2-A. Can this be on one site/ domain, or multiple sites/domains per license? 2-B. Can the license be transferred to another site/ domain?
3-A. I want this to only be a forum website, can the shop functionality be removed? 3-B. Can the Events functionality be removed? 3-C. Can the blog functionality be removed?
5-A. Can forum users be banned? 5-B. Can users send private messages with each other?

1) Yes, you can change these things from the theme options page.
2) A regular license allows you to use the theme on one domain at a time, so you can use the theme on another domain if you remove it from the old domain.
3) This theme doesn’t have any shop or events functionality. Are you refer to a different theme? Socialize perhaps? If so, yes just don’t install the shop and events plugins. All my other answers apply to this theme as well.
5) a) bbPress handles the forum. There is no option to ban members, you’ll need to find an extension for that.
b) Users can send private messages, using the BuddyPress plugin.
How to increase the forum font size for Buddy theme? I tried to tweak the CSS but its not working. Help me out, please.

Hello GhostPost, Just purchased the product. I’m migrating Google+ communities over to WP and trying to achieve the following: I have 30 users across 3 different communities. I’d like for them to be able to: visit example.com but see nothing unless they logged in. If they are logged in, they see Post feed of the Group they belong to. They should be able to see other members Posts that belong to the same group and be able to reply to them. Is there simple setup to achieve that?

Pre-sale question: 1. Do You have any recommended build in way to display for mobile devices to take advantage of full Buddypress experience (mainly live notifications) Mobile App, PWA or other? 2. Does You theme supports natively push notification or other notification for mobile users other than standard email notification for new comments etc. 3. Do You have functionality for “instant replies / canned responses” so that users in groups can reply in threads just by clicking for example that “I will be there” or “I can’t participate this time”. 4. Can I easily translate it to Polish or I have to use premium plugin WPML ?

1) I’m not sure what you mean sorry?
2) The theme does not have push notification features, this is something that would be handled by a plugin.
3) The theme does not have this feature. Groups are part of the BuddyPress plugin and forums are part of the bbPress, again this is something handled by a plugin.
4) WPML is using multiple languages at once. If you just want to translate the theme text into your language you can do this from the theme’s translation file easily using PoEdit or the Loco Translate plugin.

Please make theme compatible with Peepso Plugin too … as its emerging community and better then buddypress

To make the theme compatible with another membership plugin would take a huge amount of work and because the theme is quite old now, an update like this isn’t going to get noticed by new customers. Not to mention Peepso only have 3000+ active installations, whereas BuddyPress 200,000+.

It is possible, but as you say this isn’t related to the theme, this relates to WordPress itself. You’ll either need to find a plugin that allows multiple themes being active or create a subdomain setup using WordPress multisite which allows using different themes on each subdomain.

You can test all the forum and social features (members, groups, messaging etc.) on your own WordPress by using the free BuddyPress and bbPress plugins.
