Cedar is compatible with Ghost v4. At the time of writing our live demo is currently running the latest v4.13.0 release. If you are encountering any issues please get in contact via our support site and we will be happy to assist.
Also worth noting we are currently working on a refresh to Cedar, as we have done with our other Ghost themes, which will be available soon.
Why don’t you explicitly state that in supported software version etc then?
We usually update the sidebar meta information as soon as possible, however the available options are controlled by ThemeForest, and unfortunately they have not yet added ‘4.0.0’, despite us sending a request. As for description text we update the feature list when we publish a theme update.
Ghost will also warn you if there are any potential theme conflicts when updating, and if you’re ever in doubt you can always reach out to us for confirmation.
Will Cedar be updated like Astro and the others?

Hello! I’ m new with Ghost cms. I have observed here at themeforest some Ghost premium themes have the feature to “lock” a post for non register users and force the user to “unlock” the post by register as a member with e-mail. I want to buy this theme because is very beautiful, simple and fit to my needs, but i need members feature(I dont need paid members by stripe only be able to lock a post) . Is your theme support this system? Hope you understand what i try to say! Thank you!

Thanks for your comments and interest in Cedar.
The feature your referring to here is the Ghost ‘Members’ functionality which is currently in beta. We are in the process of updating our Ghost themes to support this, however as this is a large feature which is still flagged as beta we are taking our time to make sure this is done right.
Currently both our Astro and Orca themes have members support, and we will be adding support for our others themes, including Cedar, in the near future.

This version of Cedar is for the Ghost platform, which does not use PHP. You may be looking for our Cedar for WordPress theme.

Cedar is currently compatible with Ghost 3, and will be adding support for members in the near future (no ETA to share currently). This members functionality is currently beta and a rather complex integration, as such we are gradually rolling support out to our portfolio of Ghost themes.

Awesome, glad you have this resolved. While we do manage our themes via GitHub, we use private repositories – but the offer to contribute is much appreciated.
Does this theme has any contact form? I don’t see if I can create a contact page.

The Ghost platform does not include native support for contact forms at the current time. This is however still possible using a third-party form processor such as Formspree or similar services.

I’ve purchased the Astro Ghost theme in the past and was wondering if it would be possible or you could help by telling me how to change the following two things in the Cedar theme:
1. Make the cedar Cover Post theme exactly like the Astro Cover Post (with author on the right side and the subtitle on top of the heading) 2. Add the Reading time banner in the bottom right and the index banner on the top from the Astro theme to the Cedar theme.
Since I would have both theme (once I purchase the Cedar theme), would that be possible to add code from Astro to Cedar?

Both of these would require customizations to the theme, if you are familiar with HTML and CSS this is relatively simple. If not however, we do provided a customization service, for more information on this please get in contact via our support site and we will be happy to assist.

All our themes in our portfolio – including Cedar – are maintained and in active development. Cedar is compatible with the latest version of Ghost at the time of writing, which the live demo is currently running.
OK, thanks for the reply. Has multi language support been added or will it be added in the future?
We’re currently in the process of adding the internationalization to our Ghost themes, and will be updating Cedar in the near future to support this. Until then any translations can be made directly in the template files. If this is a required feature I recommend checking out our Astro theme.
