Hi,
My site is on this location http://119.18.61.152/
I just am not able to figure out why the preloader isn’t working properly. The sidebar and the hero image both come up before the preloader finishes… Can you please take a look and revert
Hi @preetish,
Thanks for your comment and for purchasing the theme.
Looks like the update wasn’t included in the main download. I submitted the fix for this and should be available soon.
In the meantime, if you like, email me privately and I can send you the file with the fix.
Thanks,
Leo
Thanks for the quick response Leo … I’ve sent you my email id..Would really appreciate it ..if you could share the fix at the earliest
Cheers Preetish
Hi Preetish,
Yep, got it and just sent you the file.
Let me know how you go, thanks.
Leo
When looking at the photos, what can I change so the title of the photo doesn’t show up when you hover over it. Also During the hover how can you change the color of it.
Thank you,
Hi @alexsayavedra,
Because the theme does come with a title associated with each image, the quickest way to not show these would be to leave your photo titles blank. Alternatively, you would need to alter the PHP file and remove the element altogether.
To change the hover color of the overlay, you can do this by going to your style.css file on line 694 and change the rgba property to the color your desire.
Hope that clears things up, thanks.

Leo,
I have just update to Wordpress 4.0 and it the “Add Media” button on any pages & slides is not working for me. Am i missing something here?
Hi @logik7,
I’ll take a closer look at it and get back to you. Q: Are you seeing any errors? If so, what do they say?
Thanks,
Leo
UPDATE: So after investigating the issue a bit further I have identified the cause. It seems the Comprehensive Google Map Plugin is causing the problem. As an interim solution please disable this plugin and you will see the UI controls will work once again.
I am contacting the developer to see when a fix will be in place, if I don’t hear back within 24-48 hours I will update the theme to have an alternate depedency for this feature.
Here is a thread where other users are experiencing the same issue after upgrading to WP 4.0.
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/update-tp-wp-40-cannot-add-media-to-postI’ll keep you posted, thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Leo
Hi, I’m getting this error message when I try to install:
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet
Can you help with this?
Hi, I figured it out! I unziped the download and saw the theme was another zip file to upload. Thanks!
Awesome @AshleySeick,
Thanks for the heads up, all the best.
Leo
beautiful theme! congratulations! the only issue I’m having is that i don’t get the scrolling effect when toggling through the menu (and the top menu link doesn’t work): http://www.loganandlindsey.com/
best!
Hi @loganzrun,
Thanks for the fantastic feedback and for purchasing the theme. Re your isssue I suspect it could have to do with your Reading settings. Check out the video below to make sure you have it set up the same way then let me know.
https://www.screenr.com/85ONThanks,
Leo
indeed it was, Leo – thanks for the quick and courteous feedback. I’ll be rating 5 stars!
My pleasure @loganzrun and thanks so much for the rating!
Where can I go to get more documentation on how to managed and edit this theme to look exactly like the demo version?
I don’t think I downloaded the Documentation File. Where can I re-download it at?
well shit i found it. Crisis averted
Awesome. If you have any further issues let me know.
Leo
After updating, I noticed that the mobile menu now partially covers up the couple’s names at the top. Is there a way to change that?
Hi @prahlm93,
Yes I’m aware, thanks for letting me know none the less. I have a fix in place that will be going in the queue this week.
In the mean time, if you want you can update this by going into your media-queries.css on line 60 and change the margin to read margin-top: 4rem;
Alternatively, wait for the next update and it will be done for you.
Thanks,
Leo
Hi Leo,
I must be missing something pretty crucial here in trying to set up the RSVP form. Contact Form 7 is installed and I have looked through all the theme customisation instructions, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to set up the RSVP form. I have set up an RSVP page and have started setting up an RSVP form using Contact Form 7 settings but I’m struggling. Figuring it shouldn’t be this hard and I’m possibly missing some special setting somewhere. Could you kindly talk me through the steps of setting up the RSVP form from scratch? Many thanks, Kathleen
oh and on another note, when I click on the pages listed on the side menu, it just bring up the top of the page. Doesn’t scroll down to that page further down. Thanks again!
Ok, so I have managed to troubleshoot all my previous queries and was able to resolve them. I just ask for your assistance in how I go about adding a simple text box at the bottom of the RSVP form for people to provide any additional information. I tried playing around with the Text Area option in the contact form 7 menu options but it doesn’t seem to be working correctly for me. If you can provide me the exact code I would need to place even with dummy text, I would be most appreciative.
Hi Kathleen,
Glad to here you resolved your initial issues. In regards to your last one, send me through your website address and log in credentials and I can take a closer look.
Thanks again,
Leo
Hi there, can you please advise how to remove or update the copyright disclaimer in WordPress? Thanks.
Hi @truongja,
Thanks for your comment. Re your enquiry you can update your copyright disclaimer by going into Appearance > Customize.
In there you will have the ability to change this to what you like.
Thanks again,
Leo
Hi,
Just bought the Theme. Its very impressive thanks. I am just having a issue with the menu not working.
As I typed this up I see its was a reading issue. Maybe add that to your set-up video as alot of ppl seem to have this issue.
Thanks again: )
Thanks for the feedback and for your review @stigmaza – really appreciate it.
I have a few updates in the works which should be coming out soon.
Thanks again,
Leo
Hi Leo, has something changed in the latest version of the theme to change the
large-block-grid-2
shortcode?
On your demo site (and on my own site) the Gifts section used to be two-column, but now it’s single.
http://themeforest.net/item/eternity-responsive-wedding-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/7326697Hi @sgarlick,
I did update the grid on the admin end, but not the shortcode – this means you can still use what was there before. The section has been updated to have a more consistent feel across all supported browsers.
Hope that clears things up.
Thanks,
Leo
Hi Leo, We installed the template but the menu didn’t work. Please tell me if you need info to help us to fix that. thank you!
Hi @ricardo79,
Thanks for the purchase and your comment.
Yes, I will need more information to be able to assist. Could you, send me a link to your website and indicate specifically the issue you’re having with the menu?
I’ll wait for your reply, thanks again.
Leo
Hi Leo, Where I can send to you the user and password so you can check?
Hi @ricardo79,
You can private message me your details on my direct email address. You will find this in the documentation file in your main download.
Thanks,
Leo
Hi Leo, I cant find where I can send you a PM. Any email so I can send you the information? thank you
Hi @ricardo79,
Got you email and have replied there as well. Essentially you had to just change your Reading settings to display “Your latest posts”.
Thanks again,
Leo
Hi just downloaded the theme and it does not look like the demo at all. I was hoping to only have to make a few changes. Also cannot see any presentation in the download documentation.
Thanks
Des
Hi Des,
I’m not entirely sure I understand.
What specifically does not look like the demo? What changes do you wish to make? And lastly, what do you mean by not being able to see any presentation in the download documentation?
If you can elaborate on the above points further I’ll be able to assist.
Thanks,
Leo
Hi Leo, thanks for the prompt reply. If you can go to www.john-and-amy.com you will see what I mean. I just seem to have a basic text website with no pictures etc. Making changes I mean, I want to add new pictures etc. When I was looking at this theme it mentioned it had supporting documentation / video, I cannot see any in the download. Thanks Des
Hi Des,
Sure thing, I can help you out.
Looks like you have not completed the installation process which is why you are seeing what you are.
In the documentation file there is a walk through video as well where I explain how the whole process works.
You will find the documentation in the main download file, not within the WordPress install.
If you go back and download “All files and documentation” you will have access to everything. The docs are found in the directory labelled /documentation.
Let me know how you go.
Thanks,
Leo
Hi Leo, again thanks, I have found the video and documentation. Would you please be able to examine www.john-and-amy.com again and see how my page looks, some weird stuff on the top, which does not appear on your video.
Thanks again
Des
Hi Des,
Those are the default widgets. You should remove those and you will get the same look. Go into Appearance > Widgets and you’ll be able to remove the ones you don’t need.
If you run into any issues let me know.
Thanks,
Leo
Excellent, thanks great support. However, I want / need an option to put a blog into the page. Can this be done easily, would want it at the bottom?
Thanks
Des
Sorry have that sorted, saw it in menu, I am new to this, so finding my way around
I notice there are credits at the bottom, © 2014 ETERNITY / BUY IT ON THEMEFOREST etc, can these be removed or have to stay?
Hi Des,
You can remove those if you want or add your own. You can find the option under Appearance > Customize, then expand General Settings and you will see two footer references where you can update how the message reads.
Thanks,
Leo
P.S: If you don’t mind spending a few seconds Des, I would appreciate it if you could rate the theme? Here is the link http://themeforest.net/downloads thanks in advance.
My installation (uploading a zip file) failed with message: “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.”
Any ideas?
Thanks
Hi @omutak,
Have you installed the eternity-1.5.zip file or were you trying to upload the main download zip instead?
Thanks,
Leo
Just needed to read your instructions more carefully. Successfully uploaded. Thanks
My pleasure @omutak, thanks for letting me know.
If if have a few seconds I would really appreciate it if you could rate the theme? Every little bit helps so thanks in advance – here is the link http://themeforest.net/downloads
Thanks again,
Leo
Hey Leo,
Is there a way I can change the color of the hearts in this theme?
Thanks! Callie
Hi @
You sure can – you will find a .psd file within your main download. It is labelled eternity-template.psd. Open that up and you will have access to customize the color of the hearts (amongst other things).
Thanks,
Leo
I am a complete newbie with this stuff, so I apologize in advance – where would I find this? Appearance > Editor? I was able to change the color of other things in the Stylesheet there….can’t see the file you reference tho…Thanks, Leo
Hi @GoodLife2014,
No need to apologize. Firstly, you will need to open up the .psd file, which is a Photoshop file and change the color you want in there. Have you done this step?
Let me know and then I’ll walk you through the rest.
Thanks,
Leo
No, I’ve been editing all colors from the HTML script in WP. I don’t have Photoshop on my computer. Will I need it to change this? If so, I can download a trial…
I see, then yes you will have to as that is an image asset. Once you update the color all you do is copy and paste the asset in the same area as the previous one – this will overwrite it.
Let me know how you go, thanks.
Leo
Hi Leo – downloaded Photoshop CC and opened the image to edit color, however the font type of that layer (type awesome?) is not being recognized and therefore will not allow me to edit. When I allow PS to replace the font type the image changes from a heart to a square. Is there no way to change this in WP?
Ok, Leo – I’m learning! Read up about rasterizing and changed the color of the hearts in the file. I have saved the entire file on my desktop as a new psd so it looks exactly like the original but with the new color. Just need clarification on what and where to copy and paste? – the more specific the better as I am just a bride in over my head
Awesome work Callie!
So from there, do this…
- Open up your Photoshop file
- Select the layers that hold the hearts
- Right click and go to duplicate layer
- Select from the drop down list “New”
- This will open up a new canvas, select Image from the tool bar and then select “Trim”
- Now that you have your image trimmed, go to Save for Web and save it as .png with the same name as the existing asset (icon-hearts.png).
- Upload this asset in the same directory path (/assets/img/icon-hearts.png)
- You will now have your new hearts visible on the theme
Hope that helps, if you need anything else let me know.
Leo
We’re almost there! Have completed all steps – new png with new colors saved in that file (replaced original png) but site is not picking up new color. Am I missing a final step? How do I let WP know about this new file on my desktop? PS – I owe you a million 5-star ratings after this – appreciate your support so much!
Got it, Leo! Goddamn, that’s satisfying! Ha. You’re the best. Thanks a million for your patience with me.
That’s fantastic Callie! Congrats on getting your site up and running.
All the best for you and your future husband
Leo
I had the same problem with only 10 photos showing, but I found your solution in a past comment.
$the_query = new WP_Query(array(
'post_type' => 'photo',
'post_status' => 'publish',
'posts_per_page' => -1,
'post__in' => $post_include, //array
'post__not_in' => $post_exclude, //array
'ignore_sticky_posts' => 1,
));
Thanks for the fix!
Awesome! You can also change it under the Reading settings if you didn’t want to delve into code.
Thanks for the comment @jskatell
I’m having trouble with the Callout Button. It’s pointing to www.sampledomin.com/Click here to RSVP today, which is the Callout Button Text instead of the Callout Button Target. Any ideas?
Hi @jskatell,
Are you able to PM me your actual domain? I can take a better look at it that way.
Thanks,
Leo
I’d like to incorporate Woocommerce (ecommerce plug-in) since we are not doing a standard gift registry through stores. However, when I add the shop page into the line up it shows a “Hello World” post. Any idea why it would show up this way or thoughts on how to implement the plug in? Thank you.
Hi @pulsewebdesigns,
Thanks for your comment and for purchasing the theme.
Please note, the theme does not come with WooCommerce support at this time. If this feature becomes highly requested I will definitely consider it as a future enhancement.
Thanks,
Leo
Hi Leo,
I’m having trouble importing the .xml data. After choosing the file I get a bunch of “Failed to import…” lines.
Failed to create new user for . Their posts will be attributed to the current user. Failed to import Failed to import Failed to import “hero-unit.jpg”: Invalid post type Failed to import “bride”: Invalid post type Failed to import “Groom”: Invalid post type Failed to import “The Ring”: Invalid post type ... and so on.
How can I fix this? Other than this small issue, the theme looks great! Thanks
Hi @DSaruwatari,
Thanks for your comment, happy to hear you like the theme
Re your issue, it would seem that perhaps you attempted to upload the content before installing the plugins that the theme depends on – this is just a guess though.
If you like send me through a link to your site with your login details and I can take a closer look for you.
Thanks again,
Leo
Hi ThemeChills, beautiful design:
Despite following the setup instructions (and modifying the site Permalinking to post style), in all browsers there is no scrolling or arriving at selected menu nag items. In other words, the nav isn’t working at all, though one can still manually scroll down the page. Can you please help me figure out what’s missing?
Thank you,
Doug
http://www.dotyoconnorwedding.comHi Doug,
Thanks for your awesome feedback.
I tested your theme and the navigation is working as expected. Have you fixed it from your end?
Let me know, thanks.
Leo
Hi Leo,
Yes, in the meanwhile I decided to just start over since I hadn’t done much to it yet, and my host discovered some issues on their end. After deleting the installation and creating a fresh one, everything worked ok.
However, I do have another question
What are the ideal dimensions for the sidebar background/backstretch img? I know the backstretch plugin takes care of the scale/resizing of whichever photo you want to use (which is nice), but my fiancee wants a custom background img which will be the same as the background of our Save-the-date cards, and I need to know what to tell the designer. Thank you so much, really fast response and good documentation, beautiful design.
Doug
Hi Doug,
That’s great to hear and thanks!
If you like you can use the dimensions I used for the demo site. These are 746×1200.
Hope that helps and thanks again,
Leo
P.S: If you don’t mind, I would love it if you can spend a few seconds to rate the theme, here is the link http://themeforest.net/downloads
Hi again Leo,
Thanks, review submitted.
I’m noticing as I work on the site that it is getting bogged down, really loading (and scrolling and shifting) slowly: is this because I’ve been uploading pictures that are too high of a resolution, or is it a server/hosting issue?
Thank you,
Doug
Hi Doug,
Thanks for the review! Really appreciate.
I don’t believe it’s a server/hosting issue. It appears to be related to the size of your images. For example, your images in the Our Story section are almost 10mb combined – that is way too big.
I would suggest you resize these images to the dimensions you actually need them to be. Try and keep these under 1mb.
See how that goes, but keeping your image sizes low will help with the page load speed.
Thanks again,
Leo
I’d like to change to opacity of the bottom of the ribbon on the side menu to match the opacity of the menu. How is that done?
Hi @danr2c2,
You can update the whole ribbon by changing the values in the theme customizer. This is found under Appearance > Customize. Once there expand the Colors section and you can update as needed.
Thanks,
Leo
Yes, I know that I can change colors there. But I’m asking about the very bottom of the side menu. The opacity doesn’t change that portion and it looks weird if you have anything less than 90% opacity because the very bottom of the ribbon is solid and not transparent. How do you change that portion?
Are you sure? Can you please send me a link to your site along with your credentials and I will take a look at it.
Thanks,
Leo
Not ready to give credentials, but here’s a screenshot of what I’m talking about:
http://i.imgur.com/R5eosqL.pngSee how the bottom of the ribbon is solid. How do I update that portion to match the rest of the ribbon?
Also, I seem to have lost the vertical divider that separated the pictures and columns on the Our Story page. Is there a way to get that back?
I sent you credentials, by the way.
Hi @danr2c2,
In response to your original enquiry – if you wanted to change the opacity of the bottom of the ribbon you will need to go into the code. Specifically, you need to go into the style.css then find the .side-nav:after selector (line 364).
Here you will see that the selector specifies a color hex code, you can change these values to match that which you have selected and update with your rgba value. Remember, you will need to mark this as !important to override that which the customizer is doing.
Re your other enquiry, I will need to see your site. Your credentials have yet to come through.
Can you resend?
Thanks,
Leo
Resent! Spelled your name Loe instead of Leo.
If I updated the CSS would that adjust the opacity or just the color?
The rgba property will add both the the color and the opacity. Essentially you will need to find out what the rgb values are first, then add the opacity you desire (e.g. 0.25).
Just took a look at your site (it’s looking great by the way). You would need to use this snippet…
linear-gradient(45deg, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.25) 25%, transparent 25%, transparent 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.25) 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.25)), linear-gradient(-45deg, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.25) 25%, transparent 25%, transparent 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.25) 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.25))
Just be sure to change the opacity level to the one you want and make sure to update your vendor prefix properties as well.
Also, have you fixed the divider issue? I couldn’t see the bug…
Thanks,
Leo
Thanks! I’ll try adding that snippet.
No, I wasn’t able to fix that issue. The vertical line dividing both photos and text columns under the “Our Story” area is missing. They divide normally but there isn’t the line there. Did you see that?
Also, there’s a problem with the sliders on mobile. Is that a known issue?
OK, so I’m a bit of a newbie. I found the .side-nav:after spot but I don’t know exactly which portion of code to replace. Or if I’m just supposed to add it in right below that. Can you be a bit more specific there please?
Thanks for the great support thus far. You’re incredibly committed. Your code was easy enough to figure out how to change the highlight color of the photos and menu so I changed that at least. It looks way sexier now.
Hi @danr2c2,
I updated the code for you. You were almost there, here it is for your reference. I also matched up the opacity level for you.
I would strongly recommend you copy this file and overwrite your local copy just in case – this way you will have both version in sync.
background-image:
-webkit-linear-gradient(45deg, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 25%, transparent 25%, transparent 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60)),
-webkit-linear-gradient(-45deg, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 25%, transparent 25%, transparent 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60))!important;
background-image:
-webkit-linear-gradient(45deg, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 25%, transparent 25%, transparent 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60)),
-webkit-linear-gradient(135deg, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 25%, transparent 25%, transparent 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60))!important;
background-image:
linear-gradient(45deg, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 25%, transparent 25%, transparent 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60)),
linear-gradient(-45deg, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 25%, transparent 25%, transparent 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60) 75%, rgba(224, 17, 141, 0.60))!important;
Re the divider, I see what you mean – I’ll look into it now and get back to you.
Re mobile device bug, what issue did you experience?
Thanks,
Leo
Ok, so for your divider issue. that’s an easy fix. Go into your Our Story page and replace:
<blockquote class="caption-2" />
with:
<blockquote class="caption-1" />
then update your page. Once you do this the divider will be reinstated.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
Leo
P.S: Danny, if you don’t mind, could you spend a few seconds and rate the theme? I’d really appreciate it, thanks in advance. Here is the link http://themeforest.net/downloads
Absolutely, I’ll definitely rate high since your support is stellar.
In reference to the mobile bug, when browsing the bridesmaids and groomsmen on mobile the slide function hangs or errors out or something and you can no longer swipe to the other photos and stories until you refresh it. This happens almost every time. Additionally, when you switch between portrait or landscape it often crashes too. Not sure if it’s related to the same issue with the sliders or not.
Thanks Danny. Appreciate it mate.
Re mobile bug, yes – I’m familiar with that issue. Seems to be intermittent as it happens on some mobile devices and not others.
I’ll be speaking to WooThemes (the developers of the slider) about it and once I know more I’ll look into a fix for it.
Thanks again and all the best.
Leo
P.S: Thanks for the review!
