Your theme is atrocious for SEO. Unfortunately, unless I pay a 4th time for extended support I cannot contact you regarding the problems I’ve found so I’m forced to leave a public message
Site images added using your gallery & portfolio options are not recognized by SEO plugins or sitemap creators. And before you dismiss this as a misunderstanding on my part, this has been confirmed by the developers at Yoast. Tho they offer theme authors the code to customize so that site images are recognized and added to the sitemap, you’ve not done this for the Norebro theme. You claim your theme allows for “all content” to be seen & indexed but this is not the case at all and our business has suffered since switching over to Norebro. This is a fatal flaw for a theme specifically marketed for portfolios. I am now looking at hiring a developer to parse the code properly so my images are indexed
The second issue which might even be worse is that your portfolio options don’t use H1 title tags! I created my site using one of the portfolio sliders you suggest for a homepage (ex: your homepage demo using the vertical slider) The only tags on page are h4 tags and there is no option given to change these. Between my text being read as insignificant and images that aren’t recognized I have a homepage that is an utter failure
Last but not least, when I attempted to update Wordpress and the theme it broke the formatting on the site and I had to revert to a backup. Again, I was unable to contact you since only those who pay for support have access to your ticketing system. Help for core issues such as these and submitting bug reports should be an option for all customers

I am using several of your portfolio shortcode layouts, including Grid 7 for my homepage, which is your vertical slider seen here: https://norebro.clbthemes.com/demo9/
Your theme has all text displayed when using this shortcode set to H4. There is no option to change this
I have checked your demo page again and noticed you made some onpage code changes since I left my comment and you now have H2 tags. I’m guessing you used onpage CSS to overwrite the theme code.
Obviously an update to the theme is necessary so that sites aren’t suffering from poor SEO. Til those updates and made and rolled out, can you supply code changes so I can insert the appropriate title tags on my pages? I cannot have a homepage for my business with no H1 and H2 title tags
I have set all portfolio projects on the homepage for the category “architecture and interiors” which will serve as a decent H1 title tag. All the rest can be H2. Can you please supply me with the code to insert within the onpage CSS editor? Again, I need: category set to H1 and title, text description etc set to H2
As for the images not being recognized, added to a sitemap and indexed by Google, I am desperate for a fix. Prior to redesigning our site with Norebro we had 1000 +/- images indexed with Google that drove a lot of traffic to our site. Now we have only a handful since the only images being recognized are the pages “featured image.” We have a huge downturn in our online presence since using this theme. I’ve contacted Yoast’s preferred developesr and am looking at a $500 minimum to fix just a few instances of the problem but it will not be the site wide fix I need. This is just not an affordable option for a problem that shouldn’t exist. Can you please advise? Can you also please supply a contact email so we can communicate more effectively?

As you know, I contacted you as requested. 3 times to be exact, each time asking the same simple question: can you supply me with the cut and paste code to add an H1 tag to my homepage. Instead of getting an answer we have gone around in circles:
I write looking for an answer to the same question. I wait days only to have you write back with some mundane and unnecessary question like “what’s your website address?” I write back and wait and wait.. Rinse. Repeat
It’s now been 24 days and you’re stalling on offering support
I did do the update you suggested and it WIPED OUT customizations I had made to my website, including to my homepage. With a quick glance I’ve also found other critical bugs with the new update, like not having a theme settings panel and overlays not working correctly etc. Now I’m facing an even bigger mess with a broken website that needs an immediate fix. Hopefully my backups work correctly when installed
On page or site wide CSS and child themes aren’t supposed to be overwritten by updates. This is the 1st rule of Wordpress. I’m not sure how this happened and have no faith you’ll be back quickly with an answer. I wonder how many people are going to lose their work by installing your update?
I would rather not be having this conversation in the public sphere but since you aren’t responding to my direct emails this seems like my only option. Potential buyers should be aware of the problems with this theme and with its support before purchase.

In our recent update, we have changed some headline tags according to your feedback. And now there are H1 tags for all the single project layouts (it used to be H2 and H4 before) and H2 for all the grid and slider layouts.
Also, some image alt attributes were missing which might cause SEO problems as well.
You have to understand that the theme’s HTML source code can’t be overridden with CSS. We can’t just place the H1 tag inside the slider because some other users might use it with a regular page headline that already has an H1 tag. So the only way is to provide a custom solution for you and make only the first slide with the H1 tag.
As you are out of support, we asked you to contact us by email and provide your website URL. It’s really important for us to see the user’s website because very often some theme’s parts are overridden and are not the same as the original ones.
As for the update, unfortunately, we are not able to check it as you’ve already rolled it back. That’s why we kindly ask you to provide us with temporary credentials and we will help you to update the theme properly.
So please get back to us by email and we will do our best to help you.

The changes I had seen upon updating somehow overrode my custom on page CSS responsible for altering font size and switching “view project” to a more appropriate “view page” link. I’m not sure how the update overrode these customizations but we can’t talk about that in-depth privately. Since they made the homepage really messy I had no choice but to roll it back for now. I can and will reinstall the update at the appropriate time, ie: after getting more information from you. (Having a few bugs momentarily visible while I implement fixes is acceptable. Keeping bugs visible while waiting on information wasn’t an option)
I appreciate you implementing changes quickly since these title tags are crucial for SEO. I’m hoping that Alt tag fix helps as well.
I will check my email to see if I’ve gotten a reply and hope you’re willing to see this through to a solution in a timely manner.
For the record, I have purchased 2 licenses for this theme and have purchased extended support (currently expired) I believe developers and users should be mutually supportive. I will repurchase extended support again as a good faith gesture and since customizations I had made seem to be making the fix a bit more complex. However, due to the importance of the title tag issue I believe its discussion shouldn’t have been limited to those currently under theme support. Perhaps you should offer a way for customers to contact you through the company portal even after support expires? Had that been the case I could have contacted you that at instead of bringing the issue to themeforest. Or perhaps you could offer a public message board for all customers to search for issues and fixes, enabling them the ability to research and fix problems on their own? I believe it’s worth considering

Our theme is compatible with the WPML plugin and has basic RTL support (it means that all the main layouts are compatible however there might be some issues with the specific portfolio sliders or carousels). That’s why we don’t advertise full RTL support.
You can also check our Ohio Theme which has both WPML and RTL support.

1) Appears to be a dark shade over the image – can that be removed? 2) Can the blue pill that appears above the main copy not appear? 3) Can I change the word ‘View Project’ to something else? 4) When I click ‘View Project’ another window appears, can I only have one image appear on the left? 5) In that same window, the copy that appears to the right…can I add different labels for ‘date’ ‘skills’ ‘client’, etc.? Can I replace the ‘View Project’ link to something else and add additional links? Can I add call to action buttons within this section?
6) Also, for this homepage theme, can I remove the hamburger menu in the left area and create a normal horizontal navigation panel similar to the one shown here, https://norebro.clbthemes.com/demo6/? Thanks for your response. My question was not to fix my site speciffically, but to provide an update with an up to date version of ACF that is not a security risk.
Try to remove and install ACF Pro plugin from scratch by using Appearance > Install Plugins menu. You should get the latest (6.1.6) version directly from our server.
