Why did you change something like that. It’s a real problem. People don’t understand it. There’s a mouse over effect. Something should happen if you click where there’s a mouse over effect. It’s basic UX. You cannot remove something functionalities without advise your customer before. If I have knew that, I would done the update. Another client just email me to tell me my portfolio doesn’t work. Can you make a theme update soon ?

My apologies! There was an issue with the image link on mobile device. The portfolio grid didn’t work properly on mobile, then we had to remove it in the recent updates.

Answering my own question… I found the setting at the bottom of the page config under Overlap options. One related question.. what is the difference between the Title settings under Theme Options versus those under the page options? I set a Title area background image under Theme Options and it did not seem tp have an effect anywhere.

The Title Area setting under Theme Options is a global setting and for some pages that do not have Overlap Options such as archive pages.

The Title Area setting under Overlap Options is an individual setting for single post, page and portfolio. If you haven’t set this setting, it will use global setting from Theme Options.

Also, if you’d like the height to be around 600px, you may need to choose the “Large” size for the title area (the height of the large size is 648px).

However, please ensure that your portfolio featured images are bigger than 640×640px so they will be cropped and fit perfectly within the grid layout. The recommended sizes are equal or bigger than 960×960 pixels.

Unfortunately it’s not that I don’t like the theme. I’m looking for the WPBakery Frontend Editor, because I want to develop the design of the page in Wordpress WYSIWYG-like and not develop a design that I’m then drawing it along in the Backend Editor (like I did the last 5 years).

In the description of the theme it says several times “Drag & Drop Page Builder included” and ”... with … Drag & Drop Page Builder, Visual Composer.”. How do I get to the Frontend editor???

Sure, the Backend Editor is also a Drag & Drop Page Builder. However, this theme includes custom content elements and features and some of them are not compatible with the Frontend Editor so it has been disabled by default when using this theme.

It sounds like that this is a server resource limit issue. Please ensure that your changes you made on the php.ini are correct and affect your web hosting actually.

To check your server PHP info, you may need to install the WP-ServerInfo plugin ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-serverinfo/ ), and then you will find the WP-ServerInfo screen under the Dashboard menu. Select “Display PHP Information” and find the max_execution_time and other settings to make sure they have been set to the minimum as below:

max_execution_time = 300

memory_limit = 128M

post_max_size = 32M

upload_max_filesize = 32M

max_input_vars = 5000

However, if you’re using “starting/basic/shared hosting” packages from some companies, as they give you too little control and are very limited. You can experience issues as demo content import failure even you’ve changed the php.ini, your changes won’t affect the web hosting actually.

Also, if you have other plugins, we recommend deactivate them before importing. Only bundled plugins and the Overlap Demo Content plugin should be active.

Anyway, if this couldn’t resolve the problem, try to choose the content types one by one to import. Here’s a quick guide:

1. Select only Posts option. 2. Click on a demo thumbnail to start importing. 3. Once the process has been completed, do the same thing for Pages and other options one by one.

After inspecting this issue, I think that it is an issue with the Carousel settings.

In the Carousel Settings section, see the picture below:

To fix this issue, you may need to increase the Space Between Slides from -250 to -180 or greater (I mean -150 or -100), the recommended value is -80. When it is lower than -180, you will see the previous and next slides on mobile devices. It sounds like that the Slider Revolution couldn’t find any slider on your site. Try checking the Slider Revolution screen on your WordPress admin. If there is no slider, you may need to create at least one, or import sample sliders from the theme’s demo content in Theme Options -> Home, select only Sliders option and then click on a demo thumbnail to import sliders. We’re sorry, when you have anchor links in the nav menu, it will work like a One Page site and it will scroll to the top of the page when you click on the first menu item.

Is there a javascript fix I can use to resolve this until that time? I have a workaround now but it’s less than ideal.

We’re sorry but the WPBakery Page Builder plugin is included in the theme and it needs to be updated by the theme’s author. The latest compatible version that’s included in the Overlap (1.4.6.1) is 5.6.

You can normally use that version with the theme, we will include version 5.7 in the next update of the theme. After you update the theme, you will see a notification message to install the new update of WPBakery and other bundled plugins.

It’s a background image of the last row on that page. You have to edit that page, then edit the last row, select the Background tab to change the background image.

If the Background tab doesn’t show up, try checking the current version of theme and Wyde Core plugin as well as WPBakery Page Builder, you may need to update them. It should be the row next to the Testimonials section on that page. I have no idea why the background image doesn’t show up in the row settings of your page builder.

There may be plugin conflicts on your site, try to deactivate other plugins to see if it works.

To always display 3 latest posts, you have to add one Blog Posts element into one column, then you will set the “Number of Posts per Page” to 3.

However, this theme doesn’t include a grid layout for the blog posts, you may need to choose a “Masonry” layout instead, it will display your posts in masonry 3 columns like our demo below: https://wydethemes.com/overlap/blog/blog-masonry/

Hi, it’s not a slider – it’s the header for the page in the “Title Area”.

We’re sorry but you couldn’t adjust the page header image for the mobile version. It displays the same image on both desktop and mobile, the page header automatically resizes the image to cover the entire container.

However, try adding the CSS snippet below to Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS to change the height of the page header on mobile to see if it works:

Also, you can change the padding-top and bottom to suit your needs, and the padding-top should be greater than the padding-bottom 50px.

We’re sorry but the Media URL is only available for embedded videos.

However, you can hide the featured image for the single portfolio and the single post, then you can add another image to the top of post content directly.

It would be easier if you use the page builder to add a Single Image to the post or portfolio.

If it is not enabled on a single post, you can enable it in WPBakery Page Builder -> Role Manager, choose “Custom” for Post types, select “post” and “wyde_portfolio” so you can build the post/portfolio content with the Backend Editor like a page.

Also, if you’d like you can display the background image from the title area instead of the post featured image. In the Overlap Options on the post edit screen, select the Title Area tab and change the Background mode to Image then choose the Background Image to display in the title area (header).

Here’s a quick guide on how to hide the featured image:

For the single post, navigate to Theme Options -> Blog -> Blog Single Post, change the Featured Image Size option to “Hide Featured Image”.

For the single portfolio, navigate to Theme Options -> Portfolio -> Portfolio Single Post, turn off the Display Featured Image option to hide it.

Sure, all static words in the theme are included in the POT file that’s ready for translation. You can translate this file to any languages by using POEdit.

Also, you can use the Loco Translate plugin, it allows you to translate the theme directly on your WordPress admin page.

It sounds like you may need to choose the navigation menu text color to different color of the navigation menu background.

You can change the top navigation menu text color in the Header tab on the page edit screen.

When you add/edit the page, scroll down to the Overlap Options select the Header tab and choose the Foreground Style to set the menu text style.
