I’m not sure why but if you google about this issue, you will find many people have encountered the same problem. This might be an issue with WordPress permalink system. Here are some of the more common issues with solution:

Anyway, try to change the permalink mode in Settings -> Permalinks to “Post name” to see if it works.

I think the problem now is that the custom post type slug “portfolio-item” will disappears sometimes in “rewrite_rules” in “wp_options” table.

During the 404 issues, the following SQL result will “0”:

select count(*) from wp_options where option_name = ‘rewrite_rules’ and option_value like ‘ portfolio-item ’;

And after you go to Settings -> Permalinks, and then using same SQL fetch again, the result will be “1”.

But really no ideas why the setting in “rewrite_rules” in “wp_options” table will disappears?

1. To enlarge the logo, you may need to add CSS snippet below to Appearance -> Customize -> Additional CSS:

However, the maximum height of the logo is 85px, we recommend resizing your logo before uploading to your site.

Also, to put it more in the center, you may need to disable the Full Width option in Theme Options -> Navigation -> Top Navigation.

You can edit the “Footer – Creative Studio” page in the Pages screen on your WordPress admin by using WPBakery Page Builder.

To show the most recent posts, you will need to remove the Popular Posts element (pink icon), and then add a Recent Posts element (red icon) instead. Also, you can change the Post Count option if you’d like to show different number of posts.

There are 2 footer sections in this theme. You can show/hide them under Theme Options -> Footer.

Also, if you’d like to edit the footer content, you can edit it in the Pages screen on your WordPress admin. Find the Footer page that you’re using on your site.

If it doesn’t work on your admin page, there may be plugin conflicts on your site. Try to deactivate other plugins to see if it works.

Ok, now I installed the Plugin, updated the Theme, all Plugins and deactiveted on by one to see which crashes the portfolio. But nothing happend. The portfolio is still shown as 2-column and even the hoover effect didn’t work… what am I do wrong?

It looks great on my end. Your portfolio displays in a Masonry layout and the hover effect is also working properly.

It sounds like that the plugin installation did not complete successfully. You may need to delete that plugin from the Plugins screen first, and then you will see a notification message to install it again.

If this doesn’t work, it means that your web server couldn’t download the plugin file from the remote server, you may need to install it manually. All bundled plugins are also included in the main download package, you will find them in the folder “Plugins” after you extract the main zip file.

sorry, I may have asked the question the wrong way – the spacing I’m wanting to reduce is the blank space between lines (the ‘returns’) (it looks like almost double spacing) (adding the above code didn’t seem to change this at all)...

When you press the ‘Enter’ key to add a line break, WordPress will automatically add double line space, you need to press SHIFT + ENTER key to reduce the line space.

The new version of WPBakery Page Builder plugin (Visual Composer) is included in the new update of the Overlap theme. You will need to update the theme to upgrade that plugin.

After you update the theme, you will see a notification message to update that plugin. If the notification message was dismissed, you can go to Appearance -> Install Plugins to update it.

more specifically, the “billing details” and “your order” and “additional information” headings don’t match the rest of the site – is this perhaps a theme glitch?

Those headings are H3 tag, you can change the font of them under Theme Options -> Typography -> H3.

Also, they are all capitals by default, you may need to add CSS snippet below to change them to title case if you’d like:
