It seems as though the top level of items in the “Top Nav” block aren’t editable (where it has location and email on the left and the login/signup buttons on the right with the flags). I can manually hack in “contenteditable=true” using web inspector, but clearly this wasn’t done on purpose.. can anyone comment?
Also seems like simple things like adding <.a> tags aren’t documented anywhere at all.. am I missing something? I just want to add a link in one of my footers but I’m having the hardest time doing it.

Thanks for pointing that out with the nav, we’ll take a look into it.
Currently you can’t make a link out of any text yet, you would need to add the ‘a’ tag once you have output the HTML.

Please explain what you mean by custom headers? At this time it is not possible to build your own sections in Variant, however depending on your level of skill with HTML and CSS you could make your own outside Variant.

I simply mean having a different header image depending on what page you are on, so for example about page would have one header image, contact us would have a different image, I am using Wordpress, but with the Pivot code an layout.

Oh I see, is this a WP enquiry? If so, you should direct your question to Tommusrhodus who maintains and handles support for the WP version of Pivot. Yes, in the HTML version you can have any header you like on any page.

You need the full iframe code.
In Youtube site, you need to Click share -> Choose the “Embed” tab and select the whole iframe including tags <iframe src = ...
i tried and it doesn’t work ... if old version i tested work . the latest 2.0.1 doesnt.
I just tested on live demo and this is working. Can you please try again with full iframe code in the online demo and report back? Thanks, James

Great theme and the builder is helpful.
How can I get the background images I use in the Projects Gallery boxes to stay the original size? They are being cropped and resized somehow. For example, I replaced a background image in one of the boxes with an image 72ppi 340px270px, but only part of it shows, zoomed in and pixelated. When I check in Firebug, it says it is 144×144.

Sorry, I could submit a ticket on your Ticksy support forum because it says my purchase code is not valid. I copied it from my downloads area, the very long number.
Also, in Firefox I see dotted borders around the menu items when they are clicked.

Sorry Ticksy is having issues at the moment – should be up shortly. In the meantime, you can remove the wrapping ‘background-image-container’ div from the project gallery boxes if you don’t want the auto-resizing.
Additionally, add this to your custom.css for the firefox issue:
.btn:focus,.btn:active{ outline: none; }

Unfortunately the newest update has included a major problem:
- Almost all navigation bars have massive logos and huge gaps between navigation and main content + Sometimes show two logos. (one black, one white)
- The section controls in the editor are not reachable.
Tested with a clean setup in both Firefox and Chrome.
Edit: Issue has already been fixed.

Ah ok. Ticksy has been undergoing maintenance over the past few hours so that may explain the difficulty. Either way the parallax sections are controlls by the Skrollr plugin, all sections will scroll at the same rate. Each has a class of ‘parallax-background’ and you’ll see in scripts.js (lines 212 – 226). To set your own, different speeds I suggest making some new classes like ‘parallax-slow’ then duplicate the current script in scripts,js (212 – 226) and adjust the values of the transforms.

I’m using this theme in a rails app, but i’m having issues with making the div ‘fullscreen-element’ go 100% height. I’ve copied the all the css files, scripts and html code from the one pager demo, but it doesn’t work. It only goes as height as the text and submit buttons.
Hi, to do this, add a css rule like so: .fullscreen-element{ height: 100vh; }

I really like your work and bought Pivot, Machine and will now also buy your newest template.
My question is: Are the blocks from Pivot and Machine (or Launchkit) all usable together in one project? Or are you maybe planning to release a builder with all the blocks?
I would be really interested in having all these designs and choices in one variant builder and I think it would make a unique product here on envato.

Pivot, Machine and Launchkit are separate templates so the blocks are not interchangeable. At the moment we are just going to focus on releasing them as individual products as that fits best with the way that Themeforest works.

Hey guys, awesome work, love the template! I’m having a bit of trouble making Mailchimp work with it… I just copied the Embedded Form Code from Mailchimp into the form code on the builder but when testing it just doesn’t work, I get a file not found…. Any ideas? Cheers
Hi, this could be because you might be testing on your local machine. The copied form code can have // in the action attribute which would make your browser assume it should submit the form using the same protocol as you are currently on. Running from your local file, protocol would be file:// not http:// ... If you upload to your server and test or use a local server like ‘mamp’ or ‘wamp’ you would be using http:// and the form should submit correctly.

Hi, I’ve purchased and love the builder. Just been having a play at the moment. I have a couple of questions if I may:
- If I want to add in my own colour scheme to match brand colours, where would I do this? - although the builder creates individual html files, does the css allow you to control all the elements that have been created in the different html files? - lets say I build a site with pivot and then I need to edit a few of the pages, would I load up the infividual pages, edit them then re-upload? if so will this retain any existing css amends I had made?

If you want to use brand colours, you would edit the Less files provided then use a Less compiler ( can be found online) to generate your own style.css file. Css and html are edited separately, so any changes to css will change the targeted elements on all pages. Yes, all Css amends are kept if you re-edit the pages, no css is stored in the pages generated, and they rely on the css files in the css folder for their styles. Such is the benefit of using Variant

We do not intend for the variant folder to be uploaded, as Variant is not a CMS, and it is designed to run locally on your machine, not on the server.
You can remove the variant folder from your server and keep a copy to run locally. Just keep a copy of your project .variant files handy.
