well I give up … I spent too much times trying to configure the mail.php file with Gmail, with my own domain’s name … nothing works … too bad … support is nice and gentle but anyway I would like mail to be send

Hi, lovin’ the builder however now have had to pages that won’t export to HTML when I’m finished. Went so far as to rebuild one from scratch testing along the way that I could export. Left if over the weekend and now I can’t seem to export the page. Please help.

Yes it is possible but not supported by us. If you want to edit the builder.html file and add/copy an existing section then you can, but we cannot support you in this endeavour as the template and builder is sold as-is.

To do this you just need to right-click on a link element and click ’ edit link’ then in the ‘href’ field just put a link to the page (or external site) you wish to link off to

Hi there, great page builder. Played around for a bit and bought it. One quick question – I have the company logo that is different dimension for the pivot one. I made the width the same and when I replace the image, it comes out tiny. I made the size five times bigger but still, the company logo comes out tiny compared to the pivot logo that was there.
Is there anyway for me to edit the size of the logo holder so I can get it at the exact size?

You can edit the max-width of the logo on theme.css on line 417, you might also need to sightly adjust the bottom value to position the logo just right. This varies depending on the size and dimensions of different logos.

2. does simple “space” or “divider” module exist?
3. possible to add a “picture only” header or module? I could only delete all text on some modules but results in lower image then (header).

1. Yes you can remove the border radius from the buttons in the CSS
2. Not sure exactly what you mean by a space or divider module, could you elaborate?
3. Yes you could do this by increasing the padding on the header (in the css) and having no text in it.
I’m trying to configure mail.php using:

This is just Swift Mailer telling you it couldn’t connect. It looks like you just need to configure your SMTP settings correctly. Please see the example for Gmail in the mail.php file.
Currently, Gmail insists on port 587 with TLS security.

Pivot is based on Bootstrap so you can use the standard bootstrap button size classes if you like. Some css changes may be necessary for images. Login is not necessary as Variant is designed for local use only and we do not suggest hosting the builder on your server.
Interested, but the above comment has me hesitating… could you clarify what can and what can’t be edited in the editor?
All functions of Variant work in Chrome and Firefox. Be sure to try out the demo! www.mediumra.re/pivot/variant/builder.html
Safari sadly cannot yet make use of our newest features which are to get a .variant file (to be imported back into Variant later on) or export the code straight to an HTML file (instead it must be copied into a text file). Try the demo in all browsers and you’ll see the difference.
Long story short, if you use Chrome or Firefox you’ll have the best, full Variant experience. Of course, the code you make in the builder is fully cross-browser compatible and none of this applies to your end product.

OK… just to be clear, as long as I use Firefox or Chrome, I can edit all text, buttons, headlines, etc.?
Oh yes, you can edit all of that in Safari as well, just the file exporting is limited in Safari
HELP – I just purchased and am not seeing the blue cube to export my pages when I hover over the page title as you describe in the variant docs section 9 shown below:
“To export a page, first save it (as described in 7.1), then hover on the page’s title in the ‘Options’ modal. Click the blue cube icons to export the page. The page should download as a .variant file immediately from your browser. Alternatively you can export all saved pages to a single .variant file by clicking ‘Export all as .variant’”
....only a red x to delete the page. Please advise. Thank you.

P.S. – Unless I am mistaken, I am unable to edit Link Name/Text on Buttons – if I am correct, it seems to me that you have overlooked a basic need here – defeats the purpose of the variant builder if I have to edit button details and other items in the html code itself…I think the builder is pretty excellent so far, but could use more content like a selection of buttons, and the ability to edit all text on any content block, image, or item on the page…

Unfortunately Safari does not support the file export feature, we recommend using Chrome or Firefox to build your pages with Variant. You can still get the HTML for your page by clicking the ‘Get HTML’ button in the lower left of the page by copy and pasting the code from the code box.
We will amend the documentation now to fix this oversight.

I bought Pangea (loved it) but I haven’t been able to get the contact page to work. Do you use the same PHP form? Email, Username and password?
Hello Fernandez, Pivot does use the Swiftmailer PHP library to handle the sending of mail (as in Pangaea). We had a slight issue with the Pangaea form but it has now been rectified. Additionally, you can use both Mail Chimp and Campaign Monitor in conjunction with Variant to handle email subscriptions
