Question regarding update of Future wordpress. In the past I had purchased wordpress themes that would eventually break after 3 years due to wordpress updating their software. If I purchase this theme does it come with a child theme to prevent that from happening or would it be a seamless update with nothing being impacted

Most of the time it’s something related with your API KEY misconfiguration.

Hello! Considering that the issue is not related with our product AND it’s quite obvious it’s only a misconfiguration issue of a third party plugin (that is working fine despite has not been updates in the past 6 years), I’m finding your complaint quite hard to understand.
Moreover in my previous reply I offered you support to manage the issue by our team of developers to make it work for you.
From my perpesctive, it seems you are using this as a pretext to ask for a refund.

hi, I like this theme so much, but one question I have before purchase that. Hello sadaf2 and thanks for reaching us. Vlogger doesn’t work with iframe code but just by simply enter a video url.

Other customers also had success using other video providers such as Videopress or Sproutvideo but they had to add some parameter to the video url.
I’ve just tried creating a new post with the video url contained on your iframe code but it didn’t work. Does Spotlightr provide different embed or url (not inside an iframe)? If so, just share them with and I’ll try it for you on a Vlogger demo installation.

Hello, theorically all the plugins that restrict WordPress pages and posts could be used with Vlogger
as I have only iframe code for my videos, uploading my videos on another host makes me to use a restrict content plugin. I used “restrict content pro” already, (https://wordpress.org/plugins/restrict-content/), would you please check that plugin on this theme? thank you in advance
Hello, I’ve just tested the plugin and it seems it’s working great with the |restrict| shortcode. As I can see it’s hiding part of the post included in the main content.
Just to be clear, this shortcode will not hide the main video you can see in the header but only items below included inside the text editor.
If this is right for you, the plugin works with our theme.

Hello! Currently there is no native feature that “restrict” and hide the video included in the header.
What you could do is use a membership plugin that allow seeing the page based on groups permissions.
Otherwise you will need some code customization that fits your needs. You can hire it for cheap price on Envato Studio
The duplicated video in the content can be hidden easily using a feature of the theme. You can set it globally or for single pages.
Regarding the last question, if I’m understanding your question, you can use your self hosted videos without any issues

Andrea thats great news! would you be able to offer any additional support with a migration (can pay if needed extra) So at the moment i am using aardvark theme with its own registration pages on this site here: 5thkind.tv – would that be easy to integrate do you think with ease or would i need some additional support with the transition of it all. I’ve just checked your website and I see lots of content.
For this kind of video posts, there is no straight migration procedure that allow to integrate your contents on Vlogger because we add extra fields when creating a post.
This means that you’ll probably need a one to one manual migration of your videos.
Currently we do not offer extra support for services like migration nor a trial of our product but you can buy the product and count on our 6 months support

The videos is no issue as just posts linked on YT and vimeo all external videos so noyt really an issue to do again or copy over. i wanted a more “video” section as right now just in posts as i say and locked content on posts
Its the membership login ability for members to see certain posts that is the main thing really

Membership pro works with all the theme so its functionalities will work fine with Vlogger. What you will need is some graphic customizations for members personal area or other template provided with the plugin and not covered natively by the theme, if this does make sense

Hi, I renewed my support but your forum says my purchase code is not valid. Do I need to wait? My question is: Does the Vlogger theme support Sproutvideo? For example Vimeo only works when the url is like https://vimeo.com/code/ but it we insert something like https://vimeo.com/code/code/ (private video on Vimeo) then the video doesn’t play. I think we have the same problem with Sproutvideo: the embed video’s url structure is: https://videos.sproutvideo.com/embed/code/code. What can I do in this cases?

First of all about your support, yes it usually takes a few hours before the purchase code is transmitted from Envato to the helpdesk.
Anyway, I can’t find a previous registration from you in the helpdesk , can you kindly provide the username so we can make a new search and eventually trigger an udpate manually?
About your embed question, my colleague from the helpdesk will provide a better answer for this, but I’m new to this video provider and I’m not sure it’s supported by the theme.
As general guideline, a private video URL is not recognized as video from the WordPress embed functionality, because when fetched, the provider responds with an “access denied” answer (most of the providers at least).
Anyway, once sorted your access limitation, you can get a better answer from my colleague.

As said in the previous reply we have not any plan to add Elementor because our custom shortcodes are thought to work with WP Bakery Page Builder and it’s not a straight procedure to convert them to Elementor.
Said this, I think that WP Bakery Page Builder it’s very flexible and easy to use.

This theme can have 3 type of posts:
- Standard posts - Video posts - Tutorial posts
Standard posts are created when no videos are in the page (if you add videos they will be recognized as Video posts by default).

Hello! You can lock video by password by making the page private by the default WordPress feature. So different password for different videos.
If you need more access rules I think you should add some third party plugins based on your needs.

For whatever reason I can not create a support account and the plugin for the theme breaks visual composer. Sent three emails had one response referring me back to the support forum that I can not sign up for.
Hello, we just published an udpate with a fix. Once the udpate is available in your Envato Market admin page, please udpate thge theme. Then click Vlogger in the WP admin top corner, and go to Plugins.
Here you will see an update for the plugin Theme Core, that will make your site compatible with Wordpress 5.5

Advertising in a preroll video format can be handle by YouTube or Vimeo itself. Currently there is no settings included with the theme that allow extra pre roll ads.
By the way you can add a banner that goes over the video by using the ads manager included with the theme. You can find more details on our manual here:

Hello Chineric and thanks for reaching us. With Vlogger you can upload both audio and video without any issues. If you are going to upload the audio, the default WordPress media player will come up and you will be able to stream audio like a podcast.
You can also allow people to download audio and video from your website but videos should be uploaded in mp4 format and not embed from YouTube or Vimeo. Then you should pick the media URL from the Media Library and add it to your content.

I am trying to get an item added to the main menu of this theme, but cannot find the correct name. wp_nav_menu_items will add it to every one, but whether I try to check it against args->menu for the idea or any slug, it does not matter, it will not work. I need the name of the menu registered in the theme.

You can manage your edit just by simply going to your backend and then clicking Appearance > Customize and Menu. :)
I’m not sure why you should add a item to the main menu through the code but technical support such as source code editing is not part of the support we can provide here or on our dedicated helpdesk (http://www.themes2go.xyz/helpdesk/forums/forum/vlogger-wp/)
Just to go beyond and try to support with your request, you can check and edit the functions.php at line 125.

We think that both Google AMP and Facebook Instant Article are not fully developed, and most discussions online state that for example Google Amp is “death”.
We believe that these technologies can improve the user experience but we are not sure if it’s something so necessary for our clients.
What I can suggest for you, is to check and install some third party plugins that help you bringing these extra functionalities on your website.

Most of theme add also FB instant article support. For example check this out:

Thank you so much for the detailed answer. I totally understand your point here, however, I was asking just because I read online that in the next 6 month all websites should be AMP supported so it will be ranking as more than 80% of the users online coming from mobile phones and tablets. Hope to see new updates in the near future that will make the theme stronger amongst the new guidelines.

On the DIY Demo, the 1st video with the text “We are DIY YouTube Stars!” is what I am referring to as the main video. Could this header or section be cut into 3 separate videos or more? – Rather than just the long horizontal video as shown. I’m sure one could edit this manually, just wanted to see if this is something that can be done natively.
For the video description, like the example post “12 Funny Pranks! Prank Wars!” the description under the video is a long article with pictures, bold text.etc Just wanted to know if natively one could limit the amount of information. So users can’t write something that long or detailed. Not really a big deal, as I’m sure this can be coded as well.

Yes, the header you see is built with WP Bakery Page Builder so you can add for example more columns with other videos. For sure, you should pay attention to its ratio and the responsiveness. Said this you can build your own header with ease.
Regarding the description under the video, it’s just the content of the post and there isn’t any feature that limit the amount of information on it. I think that with a bit of coding you can achieve it quite easily.
