Thank you for purchasing Writing, I’m glad that you like it! Can you please identify the question more? Writing shows by default the first 200 character of the post as an excerpt, unless you have already set an excerpt for the post. Do you want to show the set excerpt at the beginning of posts?

The “Regular License” of Writing theme gives you the write to use it in one website only, if you want to use the theme for multiple sites, you need to purchase a license for each site. thanks.

Dear author, yesterday I switched from PHP 7.4 to PHP 8, but I experienced a severe issue. When I try to load an image on the media library the process fails and an error message is displayed.
I asked the hosting support people and they told me the problem is caused by one of the plugins, that is not compatible with PHP 8. So I disabled all the plugins, except the Writing Core plugin (I can’t disable it!) and the problem still remains.
Is Writing Core plugin compatible with PHP 8?
Have you any hints to understand the problem?

Have you switched to PHP 8 before loading the image? Because I currently use PHP 7.4.
When I switch to PHP 8 and try to load an image I get the following message:
“La post-elaborazione dell’immagine è fallita, presumibilmente perché il server è occupato o non ha abbastanza risorse. Potrebbe essere d’aiuto caricare un’immagine più piccola. La dimensione massima suggerita è di 2500 pixel.”
that means
“The post-elaboration of the image failed, probably because the server is busy o it hasn’t enough resources. It could be useful to load a smaller image. The maximum suggested dimension is 2500 pixel.”
The size of the image I tried to load was 62 kBytes (small enough). I tried to load smaller images, too, but I got the same failure message. As soon as I came back to PHP 7.4 I didn’t get that message any more and I succeeded to load any images.

Later this year, I am planning to launch my online courses. What I have in mind to use Thinkific/Teachable as a platform and use it as a customized subfolder like courses.domain.com.

Dear author, I tried to customize the aspect of the blockquote. I would like quotations are in italic, left-aligned, without borders and the size of the font is the same as the text in the body of the post. For these reasons, I added the following line to Custom CSS Code
blockquote { font-weight: italic; text-align: left; border-top: none; border-bottom: none; }
In this way, the quotations are left-aligned and without borders, but they are still bold (not italic) and the font size is greater than the one of the body.

However, the font weight is still “bold” and it seems to me that the font-family is not Lora.

Dear Author, I’ve tried to import a different font for the logo title, following the hints I’ve read from another comment, but something doesn’t work, because the font doesn’t change.
I’ve upload the file of the new font (Silent Reaction.ttf) on the site, then I’ve set Appearance > Customize > General Style > Enable custom CSS code and I’ve added the following code
@font-face { font-family: ‘FontRegular’; src: url(‘Silent Reaction.ttf’) format(‘truetype’); font-weight: normal; }

However it doesn’t work.

After updating to Version: 3.780 it seems that the RSS feed is broken (MySite: https://blog.alexanderneng.de).
The w3c Validator says the following:
>>This feed does not validate.
‘utf8’ codec can’t decode byte 0×8b in position 1: invalid start byte (maybe a high-bit character?)<<
Switching to Default Wordpress helps, switching Back to Writing, I’ll get the same error again.
Trying to check my feed (https://blog.alexanderneng.de/feed) it is a strange behavior that not all Browsers display an error. Safari and Opera for example does this. Vivaldi or Chrome not.
Any suggestions? It seems that something with the php format in functions.php is wrong, but I have no idea what.
