Hi, now how can I set my page to default with sticky header? as now when I press Home section it still shows many options to display the site, and I want to disable those options so viewers wont get confused. I try to reach Customization > Layout > Default Blog Style but there is no option to default with sticky header, should I change the link at the backend, and rework the Main menu where all these view options located?

I did try that but it still show the default page without sidebar. So my solution is go to Customize > Homepage Settings > Homepage : Default Blog with Normal Header, and it’s all good now. Thanks

- I try to customise my site now, where can I put my CSS code? I found there are two places: Customise > General Style > Add Custom CSS Code. Another one is: Customise > Additional CSS. Is there a higher priority between two of them, or they actually the same?
- Will my custom css code reset itself whenever the theme gets new update? Or I can use child theme to avoid that reset?
- At the “continue reading” button, I did change CSS at class .blog_post_control_item.blog_post_readmore, but on my iPad, it stays the same, does mobile version use different classes?

The first way can be activated/disabled without removing the code while the second way is always activated. other than this they are the same they won’t be overwritten when you update the theme (the changes that get overwritten are changes in the theme files themselves).

Hello, it worked however only for the “Mobile PC Version”. When I go to my phone, the logo is much better than before, centralized and I can actually see it.
But the height is weird and the image is like “squeezed”.
Any additional code to solve this? I tried adding “height:” but it changed only the space between the menu and the logo
Please go to (Appearance > Customize > Logo Style > Image Logo) and set Logo Height to 0 so that it would be auto, let me know the feedback

If I used only the code below, the image would not be centered. And also, the image would appear above the menu.
Now with both codes, the image is centered, and the image is displaying well. I hope it helps others in the future.

Again! In the post meta content, would it be possible to delete or edit the icons for image posts etc? Another related: I would like to have words in front of the updated version date. When having both original date and updated date, it looks strange without any explanation; only two dates in a row. (“Updated the 4th of July”, let’s say).

Currently there’s no direct way to change the icons, but you can hide them from (Appearance > Customize > Layout Settings > Meta tags settings > Post Format Icon > Hide)

Hi, when i choose video post there is no option for entering embed video code. One of the demo posts is video post; when i am editing it, i also don’t see any option and can’t change the video. I think same thing occurs for sound posts. Thanks in advance
An update: sometimes when i create a new post; i see the embed option at the end of the right admin block after thumbnail section. After posting when i edit same post this option disappears.

Update on this one: I was playing around, putting the search icon on the right of the sliding menu icon, which looks neat I think. But on mobile it has crashed into the upper sliding menu. When pressing the lower sliding menu icon, it is still the search box that pops up, which makes me believe the second slider menu icon is somehow just a mirror of the upper one?

I does not matter for me as I do not need the search icon there and have taken it away, just wanted to let you know. But the only different from now is that I had a search icon right of the slider bar icon in the header.

But the double slider bar icon in tablet and mobile looks really bad if you are using Writing mainly for tablet and mobile. You can see this in preview on the bottom of Adjust section menu.

Hi again! I changed the background color and all was well in the sense that the header had the same margins as the content area. Then I played with menus and somehow the header became screen wide and now I am not able to get it back to the same margins as the content. With the update today I lost all my Norwegian translation of the child theme and now there is only Arabic translated version. Will this happen with every updated? What is the point with a child theme if all the changes are deleted with an update? Am I doing something wrong here? I work as a professional translator and belivede the translation could benefit the theme as well.

Just an update about the translations … I tried translate one word, “tags”, and all seems OK in Looco, but it will not show on page, so not possible to translate at all right now.

The translation seems find now. Yesterday I translated “tags” and it did not change on blog, but there are two identical segments (“tags”) and I had probably translated the one not on front end.

Thank you for clarifying, we will add some descriptions for translations to avoid such conflicts, also, I noticed that you are using Loco to translate, please make sure to set the translation file location either at system or custom but not author so that they won’t be overwritten when you update the theme

Would that be a problem? There where no message when choosing “Custom”. If I download the po file, will that work as a backup for the translations so far?

One more thing, at contact page image, the border radius I have to customise by adding classes “blog_post_banner blog_post_image” then manually add css style “border-radius: 10px”. Thanks for your interest in purchasing writing, of course you can add language switcher to you site using WPML plugin or any other free plugins, there are plenty of them and we support all kind of language translation and switchers plugin, and if you have any problem using any of them you can feel free to ask us for help anytime.
There is no technical restrictions in using the theme in different domains but you need to to review Envato license details to see if you are allowed to use it this way with a single purchase.

If your website is on Wordpress.com, the Wordpress.com hosting doesn’t accept installing themes from outside Wordpress.com, but if your Wordpress website on another host then yes it’s suitable
Writing is a Blog theme, so it’s not designed for E-commerce capabilities, sorry about that!
PS: I just translated it to Norwegian, so don’t worry about that
You probably read the “just don’t worry about that” as case solved, but the translated “Meny” is still not in position if you look at it on the mobile phone.

Hi again. I do try to find solutions before asking you here and I miss a knowledge bank for the theme and a list of general FAQ, I guess it would reduce your workload
a) The space between my image header and the image of the post is too little and I want it to move up a bit, like in your default version, where it is about half way between the top bar and the image below. I know I can get it moved away from the image by using the in Header Style, but I would like it to move closer to top.
b) The space between the widgets in the right side bar is too big and so I would like to make it smaller.

Image a2 shows an arrow – I want the header to move up closer to the top.
The CSS did not work, but could you please take a look at image a1, is it correctly placed? I do not understand why it does not work in my site, when I guess it works on the default theme? But then again, I have no clue about how those codes work in the first place
