The way I update is to replace all files. No matter what method you use (there are plugins too like this – http://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/ to update easily), you will need to backup your changes and redo any changes you made to the files on the new installation.

Use tools like DiffMerge or WinMerge to compare the old and new files and redo the changes. You will spend probably an hour doing this but not more, specially if you have made changes only to a few select files. The settings data will stay and hence Custom CSS entered into theme options should be fine. It’s always a good idea to have a backup though. Hope this helps.

Best way to protect yourself from theme updates is to always make changes in the child theme. The theme is mostly child theme friendly and hence when you have time, you can probably go through the changes you have made to the core theme files and try to move them to child theme so that the core files are not affected and upgrades are smoother.

Hi! Thank you for importing demo data for me. I want to modify a thing in the portfolio item pages. The principale image of every item of portfolio is shown in the “filterable portfolio page” and also in the item- page. But In the item page, it’s cut and I don’t like it. How can I have the image real size without any cutting? Or how can I get that image not to be shown (only in the item page, of course)

Pls use the Retain Image Height option in the Blog tab of theme option and see if that meets your need. The image in the portfolio page will be cut since the image dimension will need to be equal for grid to function right. But the above setting will help retain original image dimension in the item page.

The theme does not support entering design elements from column settings page. It simply does not make sense to enter general padding/margin etc. for a responsive site and would break the design that we have for the theme. We allow setting background color, parallax background image, parallax speed etc. for a row which is what would make more sense. If you need to set border, background for column (a rare thing, IMO), pls do it manually since this is simple one line CSS and should not require an editor. Hope this helps.

Looks like the errors are related to a plugin that you have loaded. One of the errors is caused by plugin named LivePerson monitor. Can you pls disable all plugins once and see if the error goes away? You can then enable one at a time verifying if the error can be reproduced.

I’m having issues finding the file with that syntax error. When i search via chrome js console it just directs me to an index however all the ones i pull down from FTP don’t have the script you mention… i do see the error though.. Any thoughts?

If you view the source for the page (view-source:http://digifx.com/), you should see the error producing script lines at line number 104 and 1744 where we have a comment “BEGIN LivePerson Monitor”. The scripts are being embedded by a plugin within the page itself.

You should just use the deeplinking option available with prettyPhoto function as detailed here -

You would set that option to false in the main.js file where prettyPhoto function is being called.
