I have another challenge with the new site(!).
My designer wants to have the logo overlay the menu. Is there a way I can add custom post types the “Total way”
I know of plugins as there is CPT UI but these don’t give me the cool custom post types as total gives me (CPT icon, Tags, Categories, Editor).
I like to add a “job” posttype to my site.

There isn’t any built-in way to do this. If you are using a child theme though you can have a look at one of the files in the parent theme such as Total/framework/portfolio/config.php and see what I did. You could basically copy and paste the class into a child theme and rename everything (search and replace “portfolio” for “job”) then remove any un-needed classes and it should do it.

Hi, I have a strange problem that the sticky header doesnt work on sub-pages, only on the homepage. I also notice a jquery error on the console, when I always visit one of the sub-pages. Any hint on this? I can send you the webpage in a private message. Thanks.
I found it! It was because of the “local-scroll” class was in the Menu, which was displayed at the sub-page.
Hello, I’ve just purchased the total theme for wordpress and I’m looking for change the place of the slogan of my website but I can’t find how to. I actually want to place it under the menu ( which is the third style of menu I think ). I can’t also change the color of the background … So I may just be lost in the theme but if there is a non-code way: How I can change that ??

The top is just a row with a background and 2 text modules, then we used teaser boxes for the 3 boxes under it, then the middle part is a row with a dark background with a text module, divider module, a portfolio grid module and a total button module, then the very bottom is just a row with a couple text modules a divider module and a total button module.

My website utilizes all Visual Composer elements. When I transfer the site it doesn’t copy over the Total Buttons – why is this? What is a fix for this?
Sorry I am not sure what you mean by “transfer site”. Did you setup a local site using Total then migrated it to a live site?
My guess is that the buttons are migrating but they are showing up as code not buttons? If so please go to Theme Panel and make sure the VC extensions are enabled. See #4 here – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/visual-composer-issues/

I updated the plugin and the theme and that made the buttons work. The one problem I now have is that I cannot edit the buttons at all. I also can’t replicate them. Is this because the “Go Button” doesn’t exist anymore?
Is there a way I can edit this button. I’ve replicated this across a few website and wouldn’t want this to be a dagger to all of my buttons.
You should still be able to edit it without any problems. If you are still having problems you can send me temp wp and FTP logins so I can have a look for you and figure out what’s wrong.

You could also just delete them and use the Total Button which I think is more customizable and easier to use.
I just deleted the buttons, and manually added new buttons and links. It was a long process but only way I was able to do it.

Urgent help needed: Photos (even large ones over 1400px) look blurry and appear to slightly change color when added to a blog post or page.

The top photo is a “featured image” and looks relatively sharp, but it’s still muddy compared to the original version on my computer. The bottom photo is a “single image” that is blurry, off-colored, and un-usable. Note the difference in color and sharpness of the background map, especially. Please advise ASAP.
You’ll need to share the URL with the issue so I can look and the browser you are looking on.
If you are using a large image, not all browsers have very good scaling (showing a large image in a small region). The issues you are seeing are probably just caused by the browser rendering smaller then the image size itself.
I showed this image to 6 people though and no one could really tell which one was the “muddy” one. To me it just looks like the bottom one has a drop-shadow on it.

Looks like your second image is being hosted on the WordPress.com CDN (Jetpack Photon Service). My guess is they are compressing the image to make it smaller:

But to be honest the difference is so minimal on my 4k monitor I probably wouldn’t have noticed if someone didn’t point it out.
Is there a way to control where my images are hosted? As a photography business, it’s very important to me to have the highest quality images possible.
Thanks for the heads up about Jetpack’s Photon Service. Very weird that only one of the two images was being hosted there. I disabled Photon and I think that solved the quality issue. Here’s hoping.
Hi there, I’m using again your theme! It’s still the best! One question: I’ve set a fixed custom background in each page of my website, it’s possible to disable it for landscape tablet? I see that tablet on portrait mode doesn’t show the background image. I can’t find in which CSS I have to set this property also for landscape mode. Many thanks

Tablet portrait doesn’t display the background simply because I have set the container via CSS to 100%. If you want to display your website in full-width for tablets and not show the background you would have to alter your layout widths for tablets – http://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/customize-your-layout-widths/

I’m using a 3rd party plugin called Easy Property Listings, and the author said the property “listings” page is controlled by the “archive-listing.php” file in my Theme. I navigated to my editor, but I cannot find this file.
I realize this file may be “hidden” because the Total theme provides so many options, but can I add some CSS to the Custom CSS to control the “listings” page and if so, can you provide an example of the code?
Below is my custom Property Listings page, where the author allows the use of shortcodes (that works fine). But when you click on any of the property links that automatically appear on that page thru the shortcode, the page that opens is full width and even using Chrome, I cannot find the file so I could possibly control the width of this “phantom page.” http://mrtownhome.net/listings/Thank you!

Hi! I would like to create the home page like Header 4 with the Overlay. I am using the revolution slider for the under the menu. I would like the full width for for the slider (image under the menu as well as the footer, but the body info to only display in the middle of the screen like it is boxed. Exactly like your demo for the Overlay. I have “Full-width” selected in global settings, but the page still looks boxed… so on the settings on the page itself, I selected Full Screen for the content. —-which I don’t want for the content, but it did make the slider image and footer go full width. I’ve tried all combos that I can think of within the ‘Customize’ settings and the page settings. What can I do?

Hello I just purchase the theme I used the default child theme. I use the latest wordpress 4.2.2 with the latest downloaded theme When I open http://wp.alsabahaward.org/wp-admin/customize.php I doesnt load … only .. you are customizing (site name) on the right and on the left is only showing one option item (text logo item) and loading image.
How can track what is happening?
By the way the customizer is not working for total theme itself nor child. customizer is working for twenty fifteen default theme.

This image slider you are linking to is created with the Visual Composer using the Gallery Slider module – http://cl.ly/image/3g1A2a2d0M2U – which can be used on any page that has the Visual Composer enabled.
You can’t make something exactly the same by default with the Slider Revolution, but you can make something near close by enabling the Thumbnail Navigation – http://cl.ly/image/3u22180i463E
