When I check this theme, this theme is using admin ajax to counter. This plugin is too slow when we have more 100 visitor and that is the reason my site has been overload. We plan to add a new option for this in a future update, or modify it to save the views on another server. For the moment i cannot provide a date for this implementation, we have a lot of features on our list and we have to take them one by one, sorry for the inconvenience. Another quicker alternative would be to look for a plugin.
2. I suspect there’s a css or html issue, maybe some unclosed elements. Check the ads and the custom css for errors.

5. On our demo we don’t use adsense, google penalizes your score for using their own ads. In reality you don’t get any penalty, it’s just on the test score and it doesn’t matter. We use a dedicated server with just the basic plugins installed and all optimizations presented on the guide at point 2 are made.

You mean to update the theme? Yes it should work, just switch to another theme, delete the current version of newspaper and upload the latest version, then switch back to it. Before trying this i recommend that you backup the site, usually there’s an option in the cpanel area (host administration panel).

The pages, posts, theme settings and other items are stored in the database. With theme update you just change the theme files. And if you backup the site it shouldn’t be a problem, if something goes wrong with the update you could use the backup to revert to the previous state. If you don’t have a backup option in cpanel you could use a backup plugin or check for information on how to do this manually. – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Hello, I’d like to have some infos about news paper theme.
The main interest of our client is to maximise page views and ads, all this while having a nice and smooth layout as the one provided by your theme. In order to obtain this result there are two main ways in the current client’s site which we’d like to move to the new one
1. increase the number of steps/clicks to get the most out of the ad platform (for example, in photo galleries we’d like to reload the page for every gallery, and so for every comment added to articles). Is this something that is somehow handled / supported by the theme itself?
2. Insert some ad videos inside the photo galleries (for example every 2/3 pictures) or have some video “preroll” that needs to be seen before the videos which are uploaded directly to the site
I’m asking this just to know if there are standard ways supported by the theme to accomplish these results. I assume that there are plugins to do that, if the theme doesn’t support these functionalities it will be nice if you know some plugin who does what we need.

A lot of our users requested features like you described and we are looking at ways to implement then in the theme. Unfortunately as of now we do not have support for a gallery with real page views and I think that in order to obtain what you want it will require a custom solution. Our experience with plugins is not that good.

I would like to purchase this theme. I have few question for you to answer:
1. Cache System: I am using WP-Rocket Cache system. Is this compatible with your theme?
2. I run Run pagespeed on your demo but the Mobile shows 74/100 and Desktop shows 90/100 and suggesting to Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content. Also if I Minify, CSS, HTML and JS, is that going to be an issue?

4. Review System: As you have inbuilt Review System available, I have not seen anywhere you have written about enabling Rich Snippets for Reviews and Ratings? Is this available? https://developers.google.com/structured-data/rich-snippets/reviews

1. we did not test that caching system/cdn but the theme should work.
2. for js we encountered sometimes problems due to minification. We ship the theme with a minified version of the js – we use google closure compiler for that.
3. most of the code is valid but there are still some problems. The theme is very complex and it’s almost impossible to make it 100% valid. Most popular themes here are not valid HTML5 due to complexity.
4. the theme outputs full metadata for reviews. You can test it using the google structured data testing tool.

The themes functionality and performance are similar. The main differences are in designs/appearances and the content area width which slightly differs from one theme to another, newspaper’s grid width is 1164px while newsmag’s width is 1021px. Other differences are also appear regarding features, some of the blocks are present on one and missing on the other. We plan to constantly add new features to each theme. The choice depends on your needs.

Hi, I’ve received an error message from Google which reads:
“Google systems have recently detected an issue with your homepage that affects how well our algorithms render and index your content. Specifically, Googlebot cannot access your JavaScript and/or CSS files because of restrictions in your robots.txt file. These files help Google understand that your website works properly, so blocking access to these assets can result in sub-optimal rankings.”
I’m not sure whether this is to do with the theme or something else.
