Hello, just some pre-purchase questions.

1) Is it possible to have an image for all posts without them being featured? I want to put top pictures to all posts, but I want to do so independently of them being featured. The featured thing is useful, but I don’t want to be able to put a picture only if a post is featured.

2) About comments. Is it possible to show the comments number within each post summary in the main page, where there’s the list of all posts? Additionally, inside of a full post, is it possible to directly show the comments without having to load them by pressing the button?

3) At the bottom of each post, is it possible to have another recommended article? Exactly like the standard Casper theme of Ghost.

If all of this is possible, I will not hesitate to purchase. Eagerly waiting for an answer, thanks a lot for your time!

Hey LinearCodeLabs,

Thanks for your interest in Astro.

1. Astro uses the Ghost ‘Featured’ option to easily switch between the two post styles, standard and cover. Therefore if you wish to use the cover post format the post must be featured via the Ghost post options. The associated icon and ‘Featured’ text can be removed from the post-list with some custom CSS which we will be happy to assist with.

2. Ghost doesn’t support native comments (as of v0.7.6), therefore we use the Disqus service. As this is a third-party solution each comment count requires a single request to the service, and this can impact performance, so we don’t include this as a feature of the Astro theme. The theme does include a toggle option to automatically show post comments on the post-page.

3. Our intention with Astro is a very minimal content-focused experience, as such this feature is not included. If this is a required feature for your blog we recommend our Cedar Ghost theme, which includes the next & previous posts.

Astro has been updated to 2.2.1. Below is the change-log for this update:

v2.2.1 - 08/01/2016
+ Updated FontAwesome (v4.5.0)
+ Transitioned from Grunt to Gulp
- Minor Bug Fixes

Hi, if my article has no header, the Flow Bar will display “Introdution” for all the article. Could you fix that? And add to the documentation how to setup the Flow Bar.

Thanks in advance, Fabian

Hey Fabian,

Thanks for your purchase of Astro.

The flow bar doesn’t require any setup, and is enabled by default when the theme is installed. It will use the posts secondary headers for its title area. If you wish to change the default title (‘Introduction’) this can be done within the ‘astro/partials/post_flowbar.hbs’ file.

If you require any further assistance with the above or have any further questions please create a new ticket on our support site.

waste money for me.

Hey alexanderchistov,

We haven’t received any support tickets from you. If you are having any issues with the theme please open a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist.

Hi,

When using footnotes, the corresponding number doesn’t show against the additional information I’ve provided. In fact no number is provided. Just an arrow to take you to the footnote in the body, I’d like numbers to show in both places to make it clearer.

Could you help me out please? :) Thanks.

Hey Lewys,

Please open a new ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist you with this.

I love this theme so much that I bought it for WordPress and Ghost. Thanks for all the hard work! I do have a question, however. Would it be possible to use Prism.js in lieu of Google Prettify for source code formatting?

Hey nfoerster,

Thanks for your comments and purchase.

We recently transitioned from Google Prettify to Rainbow.JS, as it provides improved language and styling support. If you are having any particular issues with the syntax highlighter contact our support and we can assist you with this.

Astro has been updated to 2.1.0. Below is the change-log for this update:

v2.1.0 - 04/07/2015

is it possible to move the mobile navigation to the top?

Hey joshuanet,

Thanks for your purchase.

This is possible with some minor code edits. Contact our support address (support@ecko.me) and we can assist you with this change.

Hello,

I am switching from WordPress to Ghost. I have IvyTheme on WP and it’s fantastic, but I am considering switching to Astro.

I haven’t seen two things:

- image preview on the homepage for articles with a featured image

- a back to the top button at the bottom of the page

The rest is just fantastic, but I would really like an image for articles on the homepage. Maybe it’s provided already, but I don’t see it on demo.

Hey Keaddo,

Thanks for your comments and purchase of Astro.

Post images within the post-list is something we will consider for the next update, thanks for the suggestion. If you contact us via our support address (support@ecko.me), we can provide you with some code to add a back-to-top button.

Is it possible to easily change theme font?

Thanks!

Hey gmarco,

You can change the fonts by editing the CSS. If you require font options without CSS modification, we would recommend the WordPress version of Astro which can be found here.

Hi, I was just wondering, if it’s possible to have an Archives page to filter and list all the blog post titles in Ghost ? Thanks.

Hey jade357,

Ghost have yet to release the ‘Archives’ functionality. I believe this is planned for Ghost 0.8. Once this feature gets added by the Ghost team we will update the theme to support it.

Cool! Thanks.

Hi,

love the appearance of Astro, and have some pre-sales questions:

1) Could you provide a screenshot of the theme options/configuration please?

2) Can the menu visibility be configured i) at all ii) per page/post?

3) Can the author/date info be hidden at least for posts?

Another question: I love the appearance of your site ecko.me. Any chance making a theme out of that, too?

Thank you so much.

Hey joachimschlosser,

Thanks for your comments.

1. Please send an email to our support address (support@ecko.me), and we can send you a copy of the theme documentation which details all the available theme options.

2,3. These can be modified via some custom CSS which we can provide.

Hi, I just bought the theme, and love it so far! I have three questions:

1) I have my homepage set up with a cover image, but don’t access to the bookmark logo you’ve used in the top left — would it be possible to get this somehow so I could modify it and use it on top of the cover image?

2) Is is possible to link to other websites in the site description?

3) Is there a way to use a full-width image in a post, or at least expand the image with a lightbox?

Thanks!

Hey Xorlathor,

Thanks for your comments and purchase. We just responded to your email support ticket.

The theme I’ve been looking for a long time but a little thing made me confused. Why it does not have a main page header image ? In post pages, it looks great but it should have a header image in mainpage too. Do you consider any updates about this ? Because I’m going to buy Astro when I’m finished with my recent works to get into Ghost blogging and customizing. Good sales.

An alternative demo with this feature enabled can be found here.

Thank you :) There’s a cool annotation feature in your Jekyll version of Astro(for image and code blocks).

Is that enabled in Ghost version too ? I did not notice it in the demo but wanted to ask.

Yep, its supported in all versions of Astro, however a bug in our latest update has caused this to no be shown. We are releasing a patch update later today to fix this issue.

The Preview Url (http://themeforest.net/item/astro-responsive-ghost-theme/full_screen_preview/6653121) doesn’t seem to work.

Do you have an alternative Demo to check it out?

I cant seem to replicate the issue on a number of networks. Could you send the error code, and any accompanying text to support@ecko.me. Thanks.

Ok apparently it was only a problem with my private network, it’s fine now. On my iphone it was a cache problem.

Sorry for the false alarm and thanks for the quick response!

No problem. Let me know if you have any questions about the theme.

The Welcome to Ghost post has an example of code in it. However, it doesn’t look like there’s that much highlighting going on. Does it automatically detect languages?

Here’s an example: http://cl.ly/Y0pm

Thanks.

Hey simplifiedfun,

By default the highlighter uses generic pattern matching, you can specific a particular language using a HTML snippet. Email our support address (support@ecko.me) and we can provide some more information.

This looks like a great theme, the only question I have is, I notice on the live demo site the comments are always behind a view comments button.

Is there an option to show comments by default without requiring a view comments button to be clicked?

Hey Valkrysa,

Yep, there is an option in the theme configuration which allows you to auto load comments.

Awesome thanks for the fast reply. Purchasing first thing after work :)

Hi,

The side icon for linkedin doesn’t seem to have a matching icon/animation. How to fix?

Thanks,

Hey bnzai,

Send over an email to our support address (support@ecko.me) and we can provide you with some information to resolve the issue.

Hey there,

I’m working with a client who picked this theme for their blog and I’m having an issue with the install: “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”

Cheers

Hey CaptainMacdonald,

This theme is for the Ghost blogging platform, not WordPress. The WordPress version of Astro is available here.
