Hmm we’ve not used one specifically for that but I imagine there are some good ones out there. In theory any should be compatible with Avada, but without trying some we cannot know for sure.

Yes you can, as long as you have a license for the one publicly accessible install of Avada, you are fine. For additional domain installs you will need to purchase additional licenses. Avada has it’s own visual page builder, called Fusion Builder which works brilliantly. However, in general you can use VC with Avada. Theme theme comes with its own page builder though, which is specifically designed for Avada. If you want to use VC instead, you may have to turn our builder off, which is possible through the Theme Options.

2- And it would be possible for example, view 8 posts but do show that 4 (the other 4 being accessible by a kind of slider)

I’m considering buying Avada. However, there are a few questions I wasn’t able to find answers in the documentation:
1. Custom fonts – As I’m restricted to only use “local” fonts (i.e. fonts installed at the WP server), would it be possible to achieve this until the next major version? I use two different fonts (one for headings and another one for the body), so uploading a single custom font wouldn’t suffice.
2. WP-Plugins: Are there any known issues with WP plugins that handle lazy loading, caching and images (Rocket Lazy Load, RICG Responsive Images, Autoptimize, Simple Image Sizes, WP Super Cache)?
3. Does Avada ship with a child theme or supports it? I read of editing theme files (*.options.php) that I would expect te be overwritten by a theme update. Or is it just a misconception? Anyway, I might end up in a situation where I have to modify the theme and since the use of child themes is well documented, I would like to know if it is supported.

1 – In > Theme Options Panel >> Typography you can use the Std. fonts or a choice of Google fonts. For more customized font selection you can always the CSS @font-face rule or our custom font option

2 – For caching we recommend the W3TC cache plugin -> https://theme-fusion.com/avada-doc/special-features/using-w3tc-avada/ – for the other plugins you mentioned, we have not tested those particular plugins, but could be worth a try

I find your theme fits my needs but I’d like to know if the social icons and social menu items are versatile enough to include “not so common” social media as Chinese “weidu”, for example.

We have the option to add one additional, custom social icon using this option -> Theme Options Panel >> Social Media >> Custom Social Icon
If you want to add more than one, you will need to implement a custom solution for that

What do you mean exactly with “custom solution”? changing php files? I can manage to change that but, is support included to tell me where in the code is the line or unction that controls this social media bar? Thanks!
The social media I need are: weibo and weixin (WeChat). Are they included or do I need to customize the menu? (I suppose that at least one of them could be added from “Custom Social Icon” option, right?) Thanks again!

In the social media area, you can only add one custom code and we can point you to the right files to customize for the other one if you contact support but cannot provide any custom code for the other one.

On September 1st, Envato changed the terms for support. When you purchase Avada you receive 6 months of free support. When those 6 months have expired, you can renew your support subscription for another 6 or 12 months at a designated fee.
After the 6 months of included support is over, you’ll still be able to get free theme updates that we release and submit bug reports via email or item comments. In addition you will still be able to access our support center for documentation, knowledge base, video tutorials and possibly other community avenues of support. However, if you do not renew the support subscription after 6 months, then you will not receive access to hands-on support through our ticket system.
This change in policy is controlled and monitored by Envato and we abide by their rules.

Awesome theme! Have only heard good news about it. I am looking for a theme that can still work in Internet Explorer 8 browsers because the website I am going to build is for a school and their visitors from government still have an old Managed Operating Environment (MOE) and runs on the ancient IE8.
I notice that this theme only supports upwards from IE9. Just wondering if there was any workaround for IE8 – like the use of SHIMS? Or perhaps issues only occur when using some functionality that IE8 browser cannot handle (i.e. SVG, icon fonts…)
If I build a fairly basic website and don’t rely too much on the “bells and whistles” – could Avada work for me?

We jus dropped official IE8 support only recently, so that we could start to implement a few new generation CSS features etc. But for most of the basic stuff Avada should also work in IE8. Especially version 3.8.6.1, which is the current version. Our upcoming 3.8.7 version is going to introdcue quite a few newer CSS changes then.

Thank you for your response. My designer has bought your theme on my behalf. Great theme. I am however trying to add a page to my website that has an image box content that fades when your mouse hovers on it and links to another page. Similar to this : http://themeforest.net/item/labomba-responsive-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/6106367 . I have worked with VC before and found it really easy to do (I have no coding knowledge), but no clue how to get it done in Avada. If you have any pointers, it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry, I see now the link went to the home page and not the page with the element. On the navigation bar go to “Elements” then click on “Box content” top right of the menu and you will see the elements I am referring to : the image box with text that fades when you hover on it. Did an updater auto update my Avada?? Something is seriously wrong and for the life of me I cannot figure it out. It worked perfectly last week when I was on it and I went to put new post in blog and it will not allow me to check anything but blog, no other categories if I do i just shows a blank page, also my blog page is not displaying images properly like it did last week and finally my blog is only showing this months posts on first page. It is seriously the weirdest thing ever that I have seen.
I couldnt figure it out so I reset theme options thinking something got messed up but that has done nothing and now I am about to rip my hair out LOL
Was there an auto update and if there was how do I turn it off? I have never had an issue with my Avada, so I cannot figure out what is going on cuz it has always worked perfectly. Please help as my site is live. I have installed no new plugins or anything. So flipping strange…
On a side note, I love my Avada!! BEST theme ever hands down.

Oh man, my site is really messed up, I cannot get my sidebars to work right… not very happy cuz I did not touch anything and cannot figure out what is going on with it… I worked perfect when I was in it last Thursday… just cannot figure out what is up with it…

Auto updates just mean that the available updates are shown in your WP backend and you can freely decide whether you want to install them and when you want to do it. So generally speaking, nothing should have changed.

well, I uploaded the aug 2015 avada file and it helped. I actually think it was something with ithemes security which I deactivated and I reinstalled wordpress updater and then avada 3.8.6 updater and things are working fine. Funny thing is ithemes security had no changes and something went haywire. I have used this plugin for many years but right now it is deactivated. Things are working good. Please make my support ticket as solved, but I sent in new ticket LOL to hide the post title on the post not one on the title bar. I included a jpg so you know exactly which one I am talking about.
