I need to have a row of ONE picture that goes from margin-to-margin. There will be other rows of regular text/content above and below this row.

You can certainly do that with Avada. All you need to do is deploy a fullwidth container shortcode for each of the divided sections on the page. You will be able to add a background image, enable parallax, add content to the next fullwidth container and so on. See this demo example -> http://theme-fusion.com/avada/full-width-section/

Have you guys ever thought of hosting an AVADA developers and designers conference? You know, similar to what Adobe and other software companies do.
I know it’s not cheap, however I think your user base is growing and as they say, you have to start somewhere.
Workshops, Forums, Social and Entertainment etc. Could be a good time. I would consider attending if it was in North America.

Header Question: We are using numer 4 header for our site. However, because we are a “call to action” site we need to make the Content 3 text bigger for Desktop. However when we look at it on mobile, it “scrunches” it cup to the left side of the screen. We would like it to display below the Logo across the whole screen. Unfortunately you need to update to the latest version of Avada to get the builder working with WP 4.3. WP 4.3 is only compatible with Avada 3.8.6 and higher.

That really doesn’t seem fair… Why am I being forced to upgrade?? Sometimes I really don’t feel comfortable to upgrade because of the many problems and anomalies that occur with your theme upon upgrade!
And if that is the case why do you have a patch fix at all, especially seeing that this problem is on the version just before the one that the patch fix was actually meant for?
You already have a fix for the version after mine, surely you could provide me with a fix for 3.8.4, it would have to be fairly simple wouldn’t it? Or could I try the patch for 4.3.6

We fully understand your frustration here, but a patch is not really possible in this instance. To explain; The very issue you are experiencing came about by the time Avada 3.8.6 was released, thereby our iterated release of 3.8.6.1 on the 20th of August was mainly to address the WordPress compatibility issue
As with any software, it is always advisable to remain synchronized with updates. They are released for good reason. In your case updating from 3.8.4 to 3.8.6.1 will be totally straight forward if you ensure that you follow these update instructions 100% -> https://theme-fusion.com/avada-doc/install-update/how-to-update-theme/

I am trying to customize Layer Slider; this is the message that I receive Automatic updates & Premium support; Status This site is not yet authorized to receive plugin updates. LayerSlider is bundled with the theme. So you can receive updates only with Avada updates. And we will include latest LayerSlider in our upcoming update in about 2 weeks.
If you want to update it independently, you’ll have to buy a stand alone license.

for seo purposes is it best to change the blog single post title from h2 to h1 and the title in page title bar from h1 to h2? or should i leave them the way they are!!
also does it matter whether i choose to hide or show the page title bar text. i mean if i hide the text the heading is still readable to search engines, just not to the human eye. right?! Thanks

You could create a portfolio archive with 4 columns and fixed image size for a similar result. Or you use 4 1/4 elements and inside each of them one image frame elements and a text block.

I think you are referring to image frame animations. If you use the image frame element, you can set different animations for it. We also offer this for buttons, content boxes, tagline boxes and others. Edit the element in Fusion Builder and look towards the bottom of the window for animation types, speeds ,etc.
