Hi Tahir. Just wondering if you’ll be releasing a version of Salient that includes the fix to the Visual Composer plugin, addressing the security issues with it? I’ve just installed the new WPBakery version of Visual Composer which works fine, but some of the Salient-specific functions (Nectar Sliders, etc) obviously aren’t supported.

And here’s something new. Whenever I try to duplicate a portfolio item, it doesn’t duplicate anything other than the title. Everything else starts with a blank portfolio item. This seemed to just start today. I tried flushing the cache, restarting, editing from a different browser and nothing works. Portfolio items do not duplicate when you click on the ‘duplicate’ link within the general portfolio page creation.

For some reason on our install the icons in the circles are not loading correctly in IE but they are working in other browsers.
for example [icon size=”large” image=”icon-tablet” color=”Extra-Color-1”] Any help would be appreciated.

Hey – I can see it loading when http:// is used with no www. but the reason it’s not when www. is used is because of this “www.bingoutdoor.com/:1 Font from origin ‘https://bingoutdoor.com' has been blocked from loading by Cross-Origin Resource Sharing policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ header is present on the requested resource. Origin ‘http://www.bingoutdoor.com' is therefore not allowed access.”

Update; I have allowed all users to register as contributors however I have one question, is there a suggested plugin to allow users to submit content to the portfolio; currently the plugin used on https://www.sonderdesign.com/sonder-library/ is User Submited Post plugin which naturally doesn’t allow Portfolio submissions. Is there a suggested alternative to allow portfolio submissions and if not if there a way to illustrate Posts in a similar such fashion as on https://www.sonderdesign.com/sonder-library/?
Hey – by default contributors should already be able to create new portfolio items, a plugin wouldn’t be needed
How would one allow users to submit portfolio items without a plugin?
They’d have to log in to the backend and create projects just as you would as an admin – if you’re talking about allowing them to publish things on the front end of your site then yes a plugin would be needed, however I don’t have one to recommend unfortunately
Hi. Is there a way to hide a portfolio item/page? I’m not sure if it’s the ‘visibility’ settings under ‘publish’ but when I check ‘private’ it just seems to put the word ‘private’ as part of the title of the portfolio item. I want to keep the item/page for future use, but for now I want it to disappear from the portfolio from my main page and the portfolio page. Thanks!

Hey there – I am trying to work out why my header image and menu don’t quite centre in the page correctly. The menu is centred but the image sits off to the left – how do I get both menu and the header image to center evenly in the middle of the page? Please help! Link here:

You need to use header centered alt layout since the one you’re using doesn’t make sense if you have no buttons on the right side such as the off canvas menu/shopping cart etc such as shown here http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-ecommerce/

A couple of questions;
1; How do I change the font in the buttons on the nectar slider? I’ve change the fonts an all the other buttons but can’t figure out how to do it in the slider.

The problem is that when viewed on mobile it doesn’t look right. Is there a way it can be viewed text, image, text image?
Also, can these images be reduced in size for viewing on phones as they look too big?

1. the option in your typography options tab in the Salient options panel
Sidebar, Carousel, Button & Footer Headersshould alter them – if it’s not for you, please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a look themenectar.ticksy.com/
2. unfortunately this wouldn’t be easily done unless you made a separate row setup for the order you’d like to see it on mobile and then used css to hide the original one and display the mobile one based on the screen size
My theme is ridiculously slow. When you click on the menus, it takes forever to load or just won’t. I need this blog for university, this is how I get marked and employers see my blog.

Hey guys. I have a Nectar Slider at the top of a page. It is not set to be a Parallax slider, however when you scroll the page the logo at the top disappears entirely. Going into the slider settings in the page builder and turning the parallax option on fixes the logo disappearing problem. However, doing this means that the menu items no longer change colors between light and dark according to the relevant slide setting. So I have to choose between having no logo once the page scrolls or having menu items that cannot be seen on some slides based on whether I turn the parallax option on the slider on or not. It’s most frustrating. Any suggestions?

After updating i try to fix that problem my self and i do “re-saving theme optional panel” but not solve 1 hour waste.
After your msg see when i check my site again. It’s wired problem gone site work normally. No idea how problem fix. :/

I have a problem with display of navigation labels in Salient drop-down menu. I put label “Rent a Car!” with “a” letter in lower case, but it is displayed in upper case….how can I fix it?
Hey – you have the font settings for that set to “Capitalize” which is capitalize every beginning letter of a new word, change that back to the default for more manual control

Just downloaded the updated the Visual Composer (Re Envato Market Security Notice mail), and this unbundled version of the Salient VC, screwed things up a bit, changing my hompages row background settings and the text with icon elements.
It also needs to be activated for automatic updates, but the VC license key I got, is of course for Salient, and doesn’t work for this version, contrary to the mail:
“Please note: This replaces the existing plugin under the licensing of the theme(s) you’ve purchased and is only licensed for use in these themes.”
The info sent out was not good enough, i.e. I see now that one sentence in the mail is:
“Your items that include Visual Composer: “
Nothing, blank -and nothing I noticed, when rushing to fix security issues.
I’m rolling back now, and hope for an update that doesn’t screw things up and has the right licensing Have a nice work-weekend!

Ok, i have 6.1.5, and according to WP – Updates “Your themes are all up to date”, so I tried to just upload it as a new theme, but “Destination folder already exists. /home/hodespin/public_html/wp-content/themes/salient/” – should i FTP it over?
