No the theme does not fetch news from other websites, you’ll need to use a plugin for this. The theme supports RSS feeds.

I think this will be my last question. sorry for being so cautious, but I bought so many things here on themeforest and always turn out bad.
Here is my question
I currently have a website. My goal would be to setup WP and your theme in a sub-directory and when I finished with my setup, I would move it to the root replacing my current website.
So my question is, would there be any issues moving it from a sub-directory to the root? Are there any instructions on how to do this?
Also I try to login to demo with login codes demo demo and it never logged in. It just say it is verifying and freezes.

Hi there,
Moving from a subdirectory to the root shouldn’t be a problem. Any issues you may have will have nothing to do with the theme, this would be a general WordPress/server issue. My point is, any issue you run into would happen whatever theme you’re using.
It’s working now. Somebody changed the demo password. One of the many problems of providing a demo account.

I don’t use buddypress, I use users ultra pro plugin. Can this theme integrate with user’s pro plugin? If yes then your about to increase in sales.

I can’t say for sure as the plugin has not been tested with the theme. It probably will work, but it’s not been designed to look good with the theme like BuddyPress has.

You can search members using the BuddyPress Global Search plugin which you can see in the theme. Here’s an example of a member search result: http://socialize.wpengine.com/?s=demo
How does this theme work with other social plugins like Ultimate Members? Or is Buddypress mandatory to make the set up work? What about Woocommerce or WP Job Manager? Will the theme play nice with other popular plugins like that?
Do the events calendar extensions work as well if I have the licenses?
Hi there,
The theme was only designed for BuddyPress. It works great without it, but if you want all the social features such as activity, groups, member profiles, messaging etc. you need to use BuddyPress. I’ve not tested it with other community plugins, I’m sure they’ll work, but the theme has not integrated any of their features or been designed to look good with them.
The theme is fully compatible with WooCommerce. WP Job Manager has not been tested.
I can’t speak for all calendar extensions, but most should work.

Incoming pre-purchase questions
Well I must say after spending full three weeks seeing themes here and there and almost on the verge of losing all hope, I have finally came across with yours the “Socialize” theme that meets almost all the expectations that I’m looking for my project.
Therefore and I do apologize in advance but since I’ve already spend some serious cash with a dumb-ass developer, I have decided to take the matter in my hands for which I need your kind responses to the following pre-purchase questions. And you can answer whenever you’ll have some time available:
1. Do you confirm that the set-up and management of this theme can be handle by a WP beginner in his way to achieve a modest intermediate level? I have read the online documentation. It has some technical WP terms but I don’t see that’s difficult to come through specially counting with your support service.
2. Can I add to this theme a newsletter service? Maybe using one of the plugins available on WP?
3. Below on the tiny footer menu, is it possible to add a privacy and terms of use link page leaving also the Blog, FAQs and Contact page?
4. I have read it already on the specifications but you confirm that I can change the black color of the footer and the red color on the header?
5. This theme can support a multilingual site as I read on the specifications. For example if I want to showcase my project in english, spanish and french, you confirm that it’s possible integrating a tiny language switcher on the header for the visitor to choose from?
6. Can you please provide a list of the plugins that will not be included in the theme once I purchase it? Does the purchase theme comes exactly as shown on the demo and If I decide to upload the demo and start working from it, I’ll have exactly as I see on the demo?
7. Reading your hilarious conversation with Mister rmclane “Refund My Money”, do you confirm that all the packaged plugins on the theme are working OK?
8. Does the theme support adding the social icons below in the footer? If I choose a plugin to do that.
9. Regarding the forum functionality as the admin user, will I be able the control and erase if necessary inappropriate content published in the forums?

Hi there,
1. Yes the theme is really easy to set up. You can import the entire theme demo with one-click. I also provide a video tutorial (in the help file) for setting up the homepage if you don’t want to import the demo and I have more video tutorials to come.
2) The theme should work with any of the newsletter plugins out there.
3) Yes, this is a menu area where you can add your own links.
4) Yes there are options to change the colour of these areas from the theme options page.
5) The theme supports WPML which allows you to switch between languages to offer a multilingual site. The also allow you to add a language switcher to any menu, so this allows you to add it to the header.
6) You can import the theme demo with the click of one button which will import all the content and set up all the pages for you so it looks just like the theme demo. The only difference is you don’t see the same demo images due to copyright laws – grey placeholder images are imported instead. Any plugins you see in the demo are either included with the theme (Visual Composer) or it will tell you to install theme once the theme is active (BuddyPress, bbPress etc.)
7) Yes they work just fine. I use the same plugins in several of my themes and nobody else as ever had the issue that customer described. And if you run into a problem post a ticket on the support site and I’ll look into the issue for you. If it’s a problem between the theme and any of the packaged or recommended plugins I will fix it.
It depends where you want to add them in the footer. You can add them via the menu area in the footer so they appear next to where the menu links already are.
9) Yes, bbPress allows you to delete/mark as spam users posts. You can try out the plugin for free on any theme to test it’s features.

HI, I am looking for theme that has notifications in the top menu, like and admin type icon where you can easily get to your profile, messages, and so on. Do you have this? Themes like buddy boss, thrive, and some more on here do. Since I can’t login, I don’t know. Thanks!

Yes you can add a link to the logged in user’s profile, messages etc. as well as a notification counter next to the name which links to the notification page. Here’s an image of it.
