We recommend the FTP method from theme’s update guide: http://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ You won’t lose theme’s settings/configuration so you don’t need to worry so just connect vi FTP and upload theme’s files like instructed in the guide.

Please note that you will lose any customizations made to theme’s files which will be overwritten.

You should also consider into the update process at the following aspects (optional but recommended):

– backup your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups – setup a maintenance mode and you can use a plugin for that. – empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme – disable all plugins – update the theme then install the required plugins – switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services

Theme’s adv system doesn’t handle dfp ads however you could try to use your dfp ad codes by using an ads manager plugin to render ad codes then place them to theme’s spots using shortcodes, we also recommend this in theme;s ads guide: http://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-header-ads/

Yes, there you would have to add it after or before a sidebar, based on the template on which you need it as the theme uses wp’s sidebars system which are customized trough wp’s widgets section.

The theme doesn’t have any settings in this regard, it uses the default WordPress feeds system so you could use a plugin built in this scope which should work fine. Unfortunately we haven’t tested any plugins in this regard so I can’t recommend you one which would work flawless with the theme.

Yes, you would have to import demos first, then based on each block settings they will display posted there but the demo content post would probably mix with yours so you would have to remove the ones imported and change blocks headlines and their settings if you like.

You could also opt for installing demos without content and use theme’s docs and learn how to use theme’s features and built the page yourself without importing demos.

That layout is achieved using a homepage post element, there is no single image but you could either use the homepage post and customize it and hide the sections you don’t need leaving just the image or you could built your page using VC and design other customizations like we did for this travel stack for the newspaper theme: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_travel/ I’m not sure where you would want to place buttons or if you can add theme easily but those can also be customized using VC page builder.

1. We provide a tested and working version of the Visual Composer plugin which is included in the theme. We usually don’t provide a new release of it before we make sure it’s a stable version and before we test it and fix any potential issues so you could use yours but we cannot guarantee it will work flawless.

2. Theme’s login widget can be disabled and you can use any other login plugin/system you wish however we haven’t tested any plugins in this regard so I cannot guarantee it will work.

3. You can built other blocks/module using theme’s API if the ones present now within the theme aren’t on your likings. You can find more informations in this regard here: http://forum.tagdiv.com/the-theme-api/ Please note that you require customization for this and we’re not available for any customization services at the moment so if you can’t manage this on your own you would have to turn to a developer to help you in this regard.

Hi,

That was the case with Visual Composer’s versions previous from 4.7.4. The 4.7.4 is the version with all security vulnerabilities fixed.

We know about the VC 4.8 release however we haven’t tested it yet, we’re waiting to see if its stable version then we will test it and include it in the theme.

If you’re using it already and it is working, then it’s ok, but you should consider it if something goes wrong as we haven’t tested it yet we can’t guarantee for it.

No, the xml import plugin is buggy and the xml doesn’t include all the data (widget/block settings, etc.). The demos are included in the theme, they have the same structure but they don’t include all the posts and images from the official demo because we wanted to keep the theme as light as possible.
