Love the theme. Just a quick question. Is there a way to for a user to view which articles they have liked?
Hi,
Thank you for writing and thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately at the moment there´s no way for a user to view the articles he liked. This has to do with a technical limitation, which is that the “like” is associated to the IP address.
Best, Juan
Hi Juan! It´s possible enable the live search block on the all page.
Hola Juan, es posible poner la caja de busqueda en todas las paginas de cada articulo individual?, Se que puedo poner un widgets lateral pero la idea es tener la caja grande debajo del logo, me explico?. Desde ya muchas gracias
Hi bigdel,
Thank you for writing and thank you for your purchase.
Unfortunately that’s not possible through the theme options panel. If you want to do that you’ll need to customize the header template and the script inclusion script in includes/scripts.php
Best, Juan.

Hello,
This a pre-purchase question: Reviewing the demo site, I noticed that when you type something in the search box, you can’t use the keyboard (down arrow key) to select one of the options. Is it possible to do this?

Thanks, Ron
Hi,
Thank you for writing. Unfortunately at the moment, and given the script that we are using to have the live search functionality, that´s not possible.
Best, Juan.
OK, thank you for your quick response!
No problem, my pleasure. Have a nice day!

Hi, can this theme with a regular license be used for the KB of a SaaS product that customers pay for?
Hi Mvitorino,
Thank you for writing. Yes, you can use the theme for the KB of a sass product that customers pay for. Hopefully you’ll end up saving support costs and your users will be happier if they’re able to find their own solutions.
Have a nice day, Juan.
Thank you for the quick reply Juan!
My pleasure, please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Best, Juan.
Pre-sale question: does the template support multilingual plugins like wpml? Thanks!
Also, I am seeing that the theme does not translate everything with WPML. In this case, can i buy the theme and install it in subdomains like es.mydomain.con en.mydomain.com for translation but only buy one time? Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for writing. Yes, the theme is translation ready. That means that the strings within the theme are localized and by saying that, I mean that they´re translatable. So, when translated, you can use the theme with WordPress installed in your language and it will work perfectly well.
Regarding contents, you may want to use a plugin like WPML, because that´s not up to WordPress, but plugins that duplicate the contents and configure the language for each content. I think you can ask the WPML support team about having your different languages in subdomains (I think it is possible, but they will tell better, because it´s their plugin and they know its functioning much better than me).
Please let me know if you have any further question.
Best, Juan
Hi JuanFra, thanks for your answer. I was saying that if WPML is not working properly, if I can install the theme on several subdomains with same theme? Thanks!
Thank you for the follow up. Yes, you can.
Best, Juan.
Hi there, your theme looks awesome and is great for my project, i have only one question before i buy it. Is it possible to add the big search from home page to blog layout? Thx
Hi Michal,
Thank you for writing, and thank you for your kind words.
Unfortunately that´s not possible with the theme as it is right now, but with a simple tweak in the `header.php` file you can achieve that.
Best, Juan.
Thx for the quick reply, i will look at the header then.
No problem, have a nice day!
Best, Juan.
Can I have access to the WP admin panel for demonstration?
Hi Rasanga,
Thank you for writing.
Unfortunately we don’t have any site for users to test the admin section.
You can check some screenshots here:

Hi,
We have a lot of products.
- We hope user can have front-end panel to input their product series on it. Can it do it?
- Every client can have their own font-end ticket panel?
- Is it include member register custom field?
Thanks!
Hi HeeHA,
Thanks for reaching us.
Given that Flatbase is meant to work as a solution for knowledge base sites, it’s focused in the core needs of that kind of site. Unfortunately, the functionalities you describe are not included in the theme, but they can surely be added using third-party plugins.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Best,
Ricardo
Hello,
We are going to build a WordPress based Knowledge Base. There are two very important requirements: - We would like to use video recordings answering a question. As a result, is it possible to use embedded videos on a page in your plugin? These videos can be password protected YouTube or Vimeo videos. - There are customer specific parts of the Knowledge Base. Usually, we work under NDA with our customers. As a result we planned a generic Knowledge base (available for every registered customers) and customer specific ones (available for only those the registered users who work for that specific customer). In WordPress, we use Ultimate Member for handling user rights. So does your Knowledge Base can work with Ultimate Member (user rights) plugin?
Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for writing.
With regards to your questions:
1) The functionality at this point is entirely handled by the theme. When it comes to videos you can embed any videos, and yes, I imagine they can be password protected, that must be related to YouTube or Vimeo functionalities.
2) The articles are managed with Custom Post Types. They work the same way as pages and posts do. I´m not sure if that plugin is flexible enough to restrict access for users to custom post types. Perhaps you can ask their support in order if the plugin has the ability to do so?
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Hi juanfra, does this theme show sub-menu, and deeper categories which have been created? For example, I have IT category, then it is Systems, and below systems it’s software.. Is this possible to show the sub categories in the homepage?
Hi,
Thank you for writing. Unfortunately with the theme as it is right now it is not displaying the sub categories in the knowledgebase grid.. It is displaying the articles within the subcategories though.
Best, Juan.
Hi There,
The demo data doesn’t work for me, neither does the knowledge page..
Hello,
Thank you for writing. Would you please open a new support ticket over http://nicethemes.com/forums/forum/t/flatbase/ including your site access details so we can take a look?
Best, Juan.
Hello. Is that possible to create two pages, one with some articles from groups/categories and second page with other articles from another groups/categories. I’ve seen your theme and for homepage or knowledgebase template page there are always all categories and articles visible. Can I use some filtering in wp_query to choose which category I want to publish on knowledgebase page template?
Hi,
Thank you for writing. The theme comes packed with a shortcode that can receive a category as a parameter. So, you can organize your site to have two main parent categories and then have two separate pages to include your group of articles.
Best, Juan
Hi juanfra,
Is there any possibility to use post instead of ‘article’ custom post type? because we already have several posts, and we don’t want to change the permalink structure and brake the SEO things
Thanks
Hi,
Thank you for writing. Happy christmas!
Unfortunately the article functionality is only reserved for the article post type. There’s no way to change article for post within the options. Perhaps you can use a plugin to make the redirections in a way you don’t lose your SEO: https://wordpress.org/plugins/seo-redirection/
Best, Juan.
I need to provide paid support. That is, I am an expert in my line of work and customers want to pay me to answer their questions and solve their problems. I am looking for a support system/theme/plugin that allows paid members to submit different questions (with file/doc attachment) depending on their membership level, such as Basic, Mid, High; meaning the higher your membership (more pay), the higher the support level you get. Users first choose membership from pricing table on sign up so they can compare different features of each membership. The higher your membership, the more items are covered by your membership. For example, Low membership can only ask about soccer, Mid membership can ask about soccer + athletics; and so on. And members can only ask so many questions per membership per month. Example, Basic membership can submit one support question per month, Mid can submit 3 tickets and High can submit 10 tickets. Members don’t need to communicate with or “see” each other, the workflow is between individual members and admin. All this integrated into one system/plugin or please suggest combination of additional plugins that may be required. Is this something you offer?
Hi,
Thank you for writing. Unfortunately that can’t be done with the theme as is. You’ll need to combine that with tailor made plugins or by customizing different plugins to restrict user access and to manage memberships.
This theme comes packed with a knowledge base functionality and it is integrated with the forum plugin bbPress.
Unfortunately we do not offer customization services. You’ll need an experienced developer to get a website like the one you described.
Happy holidays, Juan.
Hello,
I would like to buy this, before that I want to publish google ads with the posts of my site, so can I do it using this one? If then I will buy this asap.
Hello ywarnas,
Thank you for writing. You can publish google ads on any WordPress theme with a plugin like this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-publisher/
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
Best, Juan.
Hello, We are using a horrible KB right now that does not provide sub-category support. Do you have a demo of your plugin with sub-categories? This is my only Q before I buy this.
Hi,
Thank you for writing. Our theme supports the usage of sub-categories for articles. However they are not included in the main knowledge base grid for now. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best, Juan.
Can I please see an example? Live or Demo?
That’s right. For example, in the live demo you can see that there is a knowledgebase tree with the parent categories.
All the articles are <parent category> then article, I want to see: <parent category> then article
At this point the theme displays:
- Parent category - item (parent) - item (parent) - item (child)
We’re working in order to include the functionality to also display (optional) the sub categories. But it is not like that right now.
Best, Juan
Hi,
I would like to build a website where visitors can create new articles, similar to wikihow*com. The demo of Flatbase doesn’t show how to create new articles. Does Flatbase have a simple WYSIWYG editor or can you recommend an editor that plays well with Flatbase?
Thanks!
Hi,
Thank you for writing. The articles are created through the admin section. Unfortunately the theme doesn’t count with front end content creation. Perhaps any of these could work: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/wordpress-post-frontend-plugins/
We cannot assure they will work, and it is not part of our theme nor plugin compatibility.
Best, Juan.
Hello,
Nice theme, very useful!
Two suggestions:
1.- A “Faq” style shortcode will be more useful compare the template faq. 2.- Try to improve the documentation page (For example how to build the page as the demo). 3.- Create a individual sidebar for contact page (Or which can i use to add widgets)?
Could you recommend me any memberships plugin to manage user access to blog post, forums, etc?
Thanks Suerte con las Ventas! Javier
Hi Javier,
Thank you for your kind words
Awesome, we’ll take your suggestions, thanks! I hope we can get some of them soon.
I’ve heard “Restrict Content Pro” is a good choice. I’ve never used it, but I highly trust in the developer (Pippin Williamson).
Best, Juan.
I’m really new to this so wondering if there are any instructions on how to set up Flatbase?
Hi OAEPauli,
Thank you for writing and thank you for purchasing flatbase.
First, you need to install WordPress, you can read more about installing WordPress here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress
Second, you need to install and activate Flatbase: http://nicethemes.com/support/theme-docs/flatbase/#installing_your_theme
Once you are done with that you can start creating content by creating articles and everything you want to display in your site.
If you want, you can import the contents that you can see in our demo site by following the instructions listed here: http://nicethemes.com/theme-xml-demo-content/
You will need to create an account to download the XML demo contents.
Is there anything in particular (besides installing WordPress and the theme) you need help with?
Best, Juan
