Hey again,

Thanks for that, I will include those updated versions from the next theme update :)

And regarding the structured data, are you testing it using Google’s official structured data testing tool? https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/

Cubell

yes I am testing in Google’s official date structured testing tool however when I do not of errors in the test results, but accessing the Webmaster Tools – Google appear several errors

See the errors:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/738qafssqov9wop/error.png?dl=0

That is strange indeed! Have you turned off the author box or similar recently? Google does take some time (could be days or even weeks if your site is new) to refresh changes to sites, so it may be that the errors are now fixed but the bots need to refresh the index.

Lovely theme, close to buying it. Just want to know if it’s possible to also have featured images to be displayed in portrait mode in the posts section on the home page eg. this section http://i.imgur.com/3UstDLB.png

thanks Charlie

Hey again,

Ah I see what you mean now, you are after a blog style that uses both portraits/landscape images using Masonry script to align them. The theme doesn’t have that and I actually don’t have plans to add that particular style I’m afraid. So you would need to get a developer to customize one of the blog styles to work that way.

The main reason for all this, is that I personally don’t think that layout is very good at all. In fact I think the opposite! Because there is no visual hierarchy in that layout, which means that when visitor’s eyes go down the screen they will miss lots of posts as there is no natural rhythm. Just skim through yourself as you normally would. And then scroll up and carefully look at every single post now, but slowly, you’ll notice that you skipped multiple of them due to that layout.

Hope this makes sense :)

Cubell

Ok thanks for elaborating, you have a point there.

You’re welcome :)

Hello im having difficulty with the buddypress activity input as the submit button isnt showing.

Also I tested the [lwa] shortcode to show the login box on its own but that doesn’t seem to work.

Lastly is there someway of adding a link on a buddypress users profile to there author blog if they have some posts and the same on a author blog linking some way to there buddypress profile so its a little less disconnected?

*Don’t let these bugs put you off from buying If anyone is thinking of buying this theme it is an excellent theme one of the best on themeforest:)

Hey again,

I had a look and for some reason you have a height of 0 set to a property! I’m not sure why, as it isn’t like that in the theme, but if you add this custom CSS to your Theme options -> custom code -> Custom css box, it should fix it:

#buddypress #whats-new-options {  height: auto; }

Hope it helps :)

Cubell

Thank you!!! Yay everything is working great!

You’re welcome :)

Hi. Great theme you have there…The best one I saw until now. I’ve sent you an email with some questions but I forgot one….

After buying this theme and putting all the content inside it, will it be easy to update it by just hitting update or it is a bit more complicated then that? It it easy to change it from one server (host) to another if needed without losing all the changes?

Keep the awesome work All the best, Fábio.

Hey Fabio,

Thanks very much for the kind words and for checking out 15Zine. And also, Happy New Year :)

I answered your email earlier today, and I tried to be as thorough as possible in all the answers, I hope they help :)

And regarding this last question, the content you add is done in WordPress, the theme doesn’t actually interfere with that, so if you add a new post, write content and hit publish, it will automatically appear everywhere it is supposed to on the site. This is because this is how WordPress works (dynamically).

And to move a WordPress site from one host to another is again a WordPress thing, the theme is just to make the site look better, but it doesn’t actually control WordPress. So to move your site to another host you’d have to move WordPress, and here is the official article on how to do that: https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I purchased this theme but noticed theres is no color or underline for contextual links?

Though the demo is down, I can’t check the demo version.

How can I change the color of link in the text? It really hard for readers to find the links in the text.

Thanks

Hey Iamrichard,

Thanks for choosing 15Zine, I hope you enjoy it. And Happy New Year :)

There is an option in the Theme Options -> Design to set the color for hyperlinks, have you tried that?

Cubell

Hi there, I notice my pictures are showing up in smaller sizes and very pixelated on iPad (specifically iPad mini). Is there a particular reason for this? It looks fine on my Chrome browser on my Macbook as well as my iPhone 5S.

Hey Ryatco,

Happy New Year :)

That sounds strange, can you check on the theme demo and see if it’s the same for you there?

Cubell

Theme demo seems fine on the devices I’m having issues with. If you’d like to check, here is my site: ronyatco.com

That is strange indeed then! But I looked on your site on an iphone 6 and ipad mini and it seems to look normal to me. Can you take a screenshot of what you see to better understand?

Cubell

Cubell,
Any chance to add seamless support for Typekit fonts?

You’re welcome :)

I have recharged my batteries so hope to be very productive in the coming months! I’m going to release a new minimalist, simple personal photo magazine theme (basically a personal blog that doesn’t look/feel like a blog) at some point soon. And then I will commence work on a brand new big magazine theme, as I have a few cool ideas for a new one. And of course, I will continue developing Valenti and 15Zine as well :)

I hope you and your projects have a great 2016!

Cubell

Sounds exciting, Cubell! I’d love a photography theme for my photography portfolio website. One minimalistic, as you said! It feels like I’ll be staying a loyal customer then :) Good luck!

It is indeed! The next magazine will be more aimed at telling beautiful stories through big images than for a photographer showing off portfolio website, it will use an improved version of the customizer too, so will be a breeze to use and super simple overall! I have always wanted to design a proper photography portfolio theme though, so perhaps that could be the third theme of the year. And as always, thanks for the support and kind words :)

how can i add in top menu a category with a hearth like in talking soup blog?

Hey Pcnds,

Check this article from the support system: https://cubellthemes.ticksy.com/article/4841/

Hope it helps.

Hello everyone,

This is Cubell here! I am away from my workstation until 5th Jan 2016, and I have noticed that all the theme demos are down, so I am just quickly writing here to let everyone know that it is due to hosting problems!

All the theme demos are hosted on the “A Small Orange” hosting company, and they are being a nightmare and have all their VPS servers down for over 5 days now! It is literally crazy, I am in shock that they can have such serious problems for so long! Lots of Themeforest authors use A Small Orange as they have been very reliable in the past, so this is extremely frustrating and bad timing!

As soon as I get back, I will move all the demo sites to a new hosting company.

This is what A Small Orange have been telling us, and as you can imagine, it’s really frustrating to read:

https://status.asmallorange.com/?id=590 https://status.asmallorange.com/?id=599

I am really embarrassed by this but unfortunately it is completely beyond my control and there is nothing I can do about right now.

They should be back up any minute, so please check again in a few hours or tomorrow.

Thanks for all the kind words and all comments will be replied to from the 5th as well.

I wish you and your sites all a Happy New Year and amazing 2016! :)

Cubell

Happy New Year everyone!

A Small Orange VPS servers were down for 11 days!! Which is crazy and terrible so I was forced to move hosting. This has been done and theme demos should be working as expected again :)

Cubell

Hi. Great theme. Good work! I have two questions…

1. How can I avoid repeating the same posts on homepage?

2. How can I put a “hamburger menu + logo” on top of the page in the mobile version?

Thanks . Problems solved. Here is another question:)

- How can I show the search icon in the mobile menu?

Btw. here is my web page with your theme http://www.yeyete.com

That’s great to hear :)

Ah the search icon appears in the top menu, and you have chosen to make it appear in the main menu. In a future update I will make it appear regardless of what menu it’s originally in.

Cubell

Hello, Is there a way I can grab the login/registration form and embed it into a page.. for instance if I create a custom login-page template what do I use instead of wp_login_form to echo out your form with all the fields and such? As i am trying to create login/registration homepage like twitter.. thanks!

Hey Marcush90,

Happy New Year :)

Thanks very much for choosing 15Zine, I hope you are enjoying using it. That may be possible by inserting this shortcode into the page: [lwa] however, I haven’t tested it so I have no idea how it will work (if it will even work as expected).

Cubell

Phenomenal theme here. Thank you for your hard work. I was wondering if the ratings score overlay can be extended to front page posts. When I search for a post by category, the rating overlay on the picture is there. This just does not come through on the front page. Am I missing something?

Hi Spacejunk,

Thanks for the kind words and for choosing 15Zine. And Happy New Year :)

The rating appears everywhere where it can appear. In some places (such as grid modules) it doesn’t appear to keep the design clean and tidy :)

Cubell

Got it. Thank you. I noticed on this page the side bar is fixed while the rest of the content scrolls. How can I do this? http://demos.cubellthemes.com/?product=wp15zine

Sure thing! That is called the sticky sidebar. Simply go to Theme Options -> Stickies, and you can enable it all there. If it is on and not working, it is likely a plugin is breaking your Javascript (that is how sticky sidebars is written), so try disabling all plugins to test.

Cubell

Hello, a few questions:

1. How do I make my home page customized? i see it’s easy for “a page” but how do I access the homepage?

2. How do I have the big ajax folders? I have a megamenu – but don’t see how to make the categories have drop down with creative such as in the demo.

3. I have installed the events theme and would like to alter that page – considering the styling would happen on the 15zine side – how do I do that? is there a wy? or is the absolutely something I would contact events about? Thanks.

Hey VatoL,

Happy New Year :)

1- Did you check the documentation for the steps? You need to assign the page you created as the homepage in Settings -> Reading.

2- To do that all you need to do is add a category menu item in Appearance -> Menus. Just make sure it is a “category” menu item, by adding from the “categories” option on the left. Then simply add some sub-category menu items and put them as sub-menus to that first parent category.

3- By “events theme” are you referring to an events plugin? If so, then the styling of those pages would be controlled by the plugin. The theme only adds styling to Contact Form 7, BuddyPress, bbPress and WooCommerce plugins.

Hope this helps.

Hey Cubell,

First off Merry Christmas! Secong, ever since wp 4.4 I can’t seem to be able to modify any widgets, and only the main page widgets column shows up. Do know why this might be?

Hey Rsa411,

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and enjoying the start of 2016 :)

That sounds really strange, never heard of that one before! Have you managed to fix the issue?

Cubell

Hey Cubell, I’ve been trying to solve it but I still can´t modify widgets… any clue as to why this is happening? Any help would be great! Thanks

Can you explain a bit more what you mean though, when you say can’t modify widgets, do you mean you change settings/add or remove widgets/etc and then save them and the changes aren’t showing?

The truth is the theme has nothing to do with the widget system, it is WordPress that 100% controls it all. The theme simply creates standard extra sidebar locations, so I’m not sure that this is a theme issue. Try creating a new admin account and login through there and see if that helps. Might be a bugged account!

Cubell

I can not access the demo – “DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN”

Hey EdwardBlack,

Happy New Year and thanks for trying to check out Valenti :)

Unfortunately, the hosting company where the theme demos were hosted had a huge and ridiculous outage and their servers were down for 11 days!

It was literally crazy and as it was over Christmas/New Year period, I wasn’t able to move the theme demos to a new hosting. I have managed to do that today and everything should be working stable again permanently. So you can see it now if you wish to :)

Thanks again!

Cubell

Hi, im trying to remove the custom link image overlay Section A >> custom link >> i upload image and i want to remove the overlay.

how can i do it ?

And also, there is option to just display image ? disable the link ?

8 days no answer ???

Hi Shay2880,

Happy New Year :)

In my country almost everyone is off between Christmas and New Year time, which is why there has been no answer from me in these comments since the 24 December. However, some members of the support team still worked a bit in the support system, so if you had opened a ticket you would have received a response, please remember to submit tickets there in future to ensure faster responses.

Regarding the overlay, you could remove it with this custom CSS:

.cb-grid-6 .cb-grid-img img {   opacity: 1!important; }

And to remove the link you would need to edit the core code of that module.

Hope this helps.

Cubell

Hello, me again I was wondering if you knew how replicate this layout that this person has done with their site. heres the link gamesnack.be. also i wa wondering if there was default font color because my font has been set to white

What sizes are the images? If they are decent sizes (above 1200px in width) then it may be that you haven’t regenerated the images to have thumbnails for 15Zine. If you uploaded images before activating 15Zine, you need to regenerate them once to update them all, do you remember if you have you regenerated the images? Maybe share your URL and I might be able to take a look and better understand :)

No I have not regenerated them. Irrelevantgamer.com

Hey again,

I had a look but your main slider is the grid of 3 one so I couldn’t see what you meant before. But I had a look at some of the images you have and they are a bit small, but regardless of that you need to regenerate all your existing images whenever you install a new theme, because each theme uses different thumbnail sizes and the only way to update your old images is to regenerate them. Check the “important first steps” section in the theme documentation to learn how to do it :)

Hello Cubell,

I’m having nightmarish Christmas so far and perhaps I’m relating an issue that it’s not even directly related with 15zine, but, oh well, I can’t seem to get any help anywhere – Dreamhost server, WP forum…

So, yesterday I’ve logged in the afternoon and all of a sudden there were no menus and no media content. Some widgets disappeared as well. I immediately run a WP plugin backup that I had from December 16 and restored my SQL database to December 19. The problem was still there.

Deactivated all plugins. Reinstalled 15zine. Reinstalled Wordpress 4.4. Run another backup, this time one from December 22 from Dreamhost. I got nothing, the issue is still here.

I can’t really get my finger on why this happened from out of nowhere. Dreamhost people tell me there was no intrusion and that the website doesn’t communicate them any issues. I don’t why suddenly all my media content is broken – all the files are still there, but I can’t visualize them in wp-admin area or make them appear in a post. All that I get is the broken link icon. The same happens if I try to upload a new picture.

So, the posts, the textual content is still okay, that’s the good news. But the media is not and the same for menus.

I know you probably can’t help me with it, but I think I might have a question that a answer of you will be really useful:

Imagine that I need to get things done from scratch, building all the menus and uploading some visual media back. Now, I had things divided by sections – albums, live reports, special features. Every category had its own 15zine template; the albums were working under the review template, for example.

Could I edit all posts in the same category with the same template simultaneously? A bulk edit? Because doing that individually, considering that there are thousands of posts, will be hellish.

Thanks

Hey BeardBum,

Oh no, that does sound like a nightmare to happen over Christmas! I can related too, because the hosting company that had all the theme demos went down on 25 December and took 11 whole days to get back up! Absolute nightmare as I wanted to take a few days off in between Christmas and New Year, but Murphy’s Law seems to always crop up!

Have you made any progress with it? The only thing I can say is that things definitely don’t just disappear, it would definitely either be something you (or another user) did, for example, renaming the theme folder or similar. As WordPress saves all the menus/widgets/etc in the database and associates it to the theme folder name. Or alternatively it could be some strange hosting problem, such as database got damaged for whatever reason.

Cubell

how can I enable comments on the theme?

Hey Pcnds,

Happy New Year :)

There is an option in Theme Options -> Posts to enable/disable comments from appearing.

If you have it turned on and still no comments, then it means your WordPress settings are turning them off. Edit the post, then click on “screen options” button on the top right of the screen, then click the discussion option. Now scroll down to discussion metabox and enable the “Allow comments” option.

Hope this helps.

Cubell

How can I configure the footer logo / copyright like in the demo site?
