Hey – could you be more specific with which options you’re referring to. e.g. if you’re talking about specific visual composer elements or theme options

When I write a blog, I can choose “post header settings”. They have stopped working.
“Background Overlay This will add a slight overlay onto your header which will allow lighter text to be easily visible on light images”

Hey, the location of the files is listed in the “read before updating” text file included with the main theme download from ThemeForest – also, there’s a dummy data import section in the theme options panel now

Hi there, just upgraded to 7.0.1 and have this error 500 internal server. Error logs show:

Hi, what is recommended image size for mouse based parallax? When I try a full width parallax and a fullhd images resolution, I do not see all the image content, only small part of layers.

1. What is your recommended image size/resolution for portfolio in Salient. We typically have 16:9 1080p images as source material. Would you recommend uploading 1080p for portfolio featured images and will salient automatically crop/resize for mobile etc? We’ve been with you for a couple years now and had originally done thumbnails for featured images that were 384×216 (small 16:9). Is that necessary now?
2. Are you planning to release more 7.0.x updates in the coming days? I’m looking for the right time to make the jump to a stable version of 7!

1. It depends on the portfolio setup you’re currently using – are you using masonry and is your portfolio full width?
2. The first minor release is out and it sorted all known issues at the time – though another minor update will most likely come in another day or two if more issues are reported

Just updated our site to 7.0.2 and testing out all the new additions since 6.1.72.
1. It appears that “Portfolio Sidebar Follow on Scroll” is broken. Normally we have the text on the right of the content. When we scroll down, it pops over to the left, under the extra content area. If I turn off “Portfolio Sidebar Follow on Scroll”, the sidebar stays in place on scroll and doesn’t pop. This happens in Chrome and Safari on the mac.
2. When using the “Video” Post type in our blog – the “Embedded Code” video content doesn’t show up in the single blog page (or in the blog thumbnail for that page): http://hingedigital.com/adoptuskids-campaign-10th-anniversary-psa/ It also prevents video content from showing up if directly embedded in the content area.THere’s white space left for both videos, but they don’t load. What’s going on here? FYI, we have “Hide Featured Image on Single Post” checked in the salient settings.

So I can see you’re using the option in the Salient options panel for “Move Dynamic/Custom CSS Into External Stylesheet” however your dynamic stylesheet is empty which can only mean your server doesn’t have permissions to write to that file (css/dynamic-combined.css) or that you have not clicked “save changes” in the options panel since updating. I’d be glad to take a look into this further for you and help out, but unfortunately unless you open a ticket I can only give instructions
I did not carry out any changes. I made an upgrade according to your instructions. Who came up with so stupid update? Why do update broken my work? How can I go back my work? How I do update without envato wordpress toolkit? Oh ya, it’s too silly.

Ok, it works. But it is evident that it did not ended correctly update template. How do I upgrade tempalte without without envato wordpress toolkit? This is extremely bad system.
I don’t see any issues in the template update on your site, when using that option to write styles to the external stylesheet, you always need to click saved changes after updating the theme. Also, the Envato toolkit plugin is the way recommend by Envato to update premium themes, not just Salient

I don’t like that one because the title only appears when you hover. I want the title to be there, below, without having to hover to see it.
In that case, add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:

Thanks! There are a few issues, though:
1. The entire image is not hyperlinked. Just where the buttons disappeared. 2. The date is still there. 3. The title is not centered under the featured image.

Hi! Just letting you guys know that the “3D Parallax on Hover” is not working properly. When I hover my mouse the images disappear and reappear. At least on my side.
PS: I just updated the site to 7.0.1 and the problem persist

I deactivate the Vcita plugin and the disappear problem went away but it still a little bit laggy.

Has that bug fix been released yet? We’re afraid to update after viewing some of the issues that people are reporting, so I just want to make sure that it’s safe to do so as the changelog does not list anything beyond 7.0 yet.

Hi. I am having an issue with the navigation dropdown items. I have created pages with lots of content on them. (http://redthread.bradhoen.com) In the navigation you can link to the info through #anchor links. That works fine. When I click on one on a page through the drop-down menu, and then click on another I get a blank white screen. When I refresh it shows up. Is there a fix for this? Let me know. I love the theme!

Try changing your page transition method from AJAX to “Standard” in your theme options panel > page transitions tab

I just updated my Salient theme, and now all the navigation links at the top of the pages will disappear upon hover or when one is on that page that corresponds to the navigation link. I have changed the color options in the Salient options several times, and though I can manipulate all other settings (font size, boldness, etc), as well as the color of the text when not hovering, the hovering will do nothing but simply cause the text to completely disappear, though any drop down boxes will still appear. The odd thing is, if there is a dropdown box for sub headings, that little arrow indicating a drop down box IS the color of whatever I change the color to AND it stays visable,....but the top level text will simply disappear upon hover
I have a second site with Salient that while it will not disappear upon hover, the color is wrong (barely visable) and it will not let me change THAT hover color no matter what I do.Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this?

First off: you’ve been busy! Couple questions for you (no rush on this, I’m sure you’re slammed with checking out mentions of the newest release).
1. With your new video pop-up option using lightbox – is there any way to utilize Wistia videos within your lightbox function for videos? Is it also possible to use a css style or ID to target a link or image link to utilize your video lightbox option?
2. With Visual Composer and their latest releases (they look like nightmares) – are you holding off for a couple months to see if they work out their issues prior to updating it within Salient in case there is far too much that would be incompatible or do you think that will be updated soon as well?
