When you push out your next update (assume within next week or 2 ?) can you please update the Revslider to current version 5.1.6 ? It fixes several bugs and better compatibility with WP 4.4 – Current version of Avada loads version 5.1.4

Yes for sure, you can do any size columns from 1-6 with titles and no description (excerpt) along with a single or dual sidebar.
Yes you can also do a portfolio layout at 100% width as the blog page shows. For example, here is a portfolio page at 100%: http://theme-fusion.com/avada/grid-100-2/ You can use any of the 1-6 column layouts with it.

I want to show the categories on our main blog/news page for each individual post. The option Show categories on the Blog element does this, but is it possible to hide some categories from appearing here? I have some custom admin categories used for filtering elsewhere on the site but don’t want them to appear in the categories shown for each blog item. I would also like to display the categories on the individual post pages (I currently have Blog > Blog meta options > Disable post meta categories checked as I don’t want my admin categories to come through).
I use the Pro Categories Widget to hide these categories from the blog sidebar and that works great, but I need to also hide them from the blog element generated output.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried this option but it’s not quite the functionality I need. I want to display all posts, but I don’t want certain category names to be outputted e.g. if a post is in the ‘Trips’, ‘Fundraising’ and ‘Admin Pages’ categories, I want the post to show, but with just the categories ‘Trips’, ‘Fundraising’ displayed. If I exclude the ‘Admin Pages’ category, then those posts don’t display at all.

Thanks – I’ve managed to do this myself. Unfortunately I’ve had to edit a core WP file (I know it’s bad) – but ‘get_the_category_list’ is not a pluggable function so I’m struggling to get the alterations into a plugin. I’m assuming I’m trying to do this the correct way, but guessing this is a custom solution.

Yea, something is wrong. But I managed to install Avada, using FTP. But I feel like something is not working. I just installed the Landing Page demo, and I have no menu. I can’t seem to find the anchor menu.
Hmm go to menu settings and see if a menu is there and assigned to “main menu” location.

That is not a plugin that we will have tested with Avada for compatibility, so cannot guarantee it. As it does act as a Woocommerce extension it should be fine though. If anything it might be down to some minor styling issues that need to be addressed, either way we would in that case recommend that you contact the plugin author if something arises.

Hello there. ive imported agency demo contect. But i cant see any options for the agency demo..
I think that all changes that i make doesnt affect the agency demo but the defalt theme. for example: 1)i ve changed the footer text but still showing the old one. 2)i ve changed the social icon color but still see it in grey color 3)at the logo options it doesnt show the agency logo but the default avada logo 4) at header options there are the default theme styles to choose
*note tha ive imported demo contect twice by mistake, but second import duplicated only the menu pages. nothing else, i just deleted those pages and i thought everything is ok..isnt it? should i set this theme form the beginning? something is wrong at the theme options? Thanks
Hi there. i use this plugin for multi-language https://wordpress.org/plugins/polylang/ i deactivated it and changes are submiting properly. agency logo appeared as well. there is a know issue with this plugin or i missed something at the multi-language plugin’s options??

Hello, I have to be sure, i would like to use this theme with the architecture visual, is it possible to use it as a one page website, but by one page I means that if we use the links in the left menu it will bring us to the “associate part” but in the same page. Per exemple in my one page website, the contact form is at the end, if I click on the left menu link “contact” I would like to be bring to the end of my page at the contact form, not on a new page.

Hi, I’m using your theme in this website http://kerunet.com/. As you can see, I’ve used a Fusion Slider with a video from youtube and I’ve activated the autoplay option. My problem is that the autoplay option doesn’t work in the mobile version of my site. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help!

Hi there! Congratulations again for the great theme, Avada! I would like to ask something that many others have already asked, but I think there has been no certain answer so far. Ar you going to offer a built-in gallery? I cannot understand why a great company like you has left Avada without a gallery… Avada is advertised as the best selling theme of all time in themeforest, and it is true, but it has no gallery 
In the past you have said that you would add one, but I have not seen it yet. We all the users who buy your theme and support you would like to know for sure if you will add a gallery or no so we know what to do with photos we want to add. I think a gallery is the only thing that makes Avada incomplete. Years ago, I wanted a gallery and because Avada did not have, I bought other themes. However, I did not have all the great possibilities that Avada gives. I understand that you may want to support all the others who build gallery plugins, but the market is open and there is place for everyone. After all, competition makes all better. At least, it would be good to let your thousands of users know if you will add a gallery or no. I have bought many times Avada theme, I thanked you many times for its possibilities, and I would love to see a good built-in gallery. I am preparing a big project and I am using Avada theme, but a gallery is missing and makes the theme incomplete… Thank you!!!

Thank you for your kind words, we appreciate it First off, the portfolio can be used as a gallery, you can also use the default WP gallery function as well as any number of free 3rd party gallery plugins. In addition, we are already developing our own gallery solution but cannot say when it will be released.

Great support makes a company successful… I was looking for a drupal theme for a certain project, I found the best to my opinion in terms of aesthetics and quality, and then I saw that the last unanswered questions of potential customers and buyers was 1 month ago, and I changed my mind for that theme… So thank you again for the super quick reply! I will probably use a popular gallery plugin. I do know about the WP default gallery and your great portfolio option, but both do not organize the uploaded photos in different and separate folders, but they are all together mixed with all the other photos in the WP media. That is not convenient and nice. For serious photo sections in a big website that uses Avada those 2 options are not convenient. It is good to know you are preparing a gallery, though for me will be late when you offer that because I will have already uploaded all my photos onto that plugin. But it will be good for others in the future.Thanks again

Yes that is true, any images uploaded will be put in the media folder per normal. However I think most gallery plugins are this way as well, at least a good portion because that is the default way for WP to store media. I’ll check into that though to see what options are available as we complete ours.

How do I get my old username and password back?! Anyone can log into my site right now? I tried to log in with my previous email but it tells me there is no user with that login? WTF?

Sorry for the inconvenience. However the instructions state that your whole WordPress database will be overwritten, which of course include old user accounts.
Here is how to set your old user: Once you logged in with the admin data, you can go to WP Dashboard > Users > Your Profile and change the admin password there. Or you go to USers > Add New and add you old user with your email and pssword back and give him admin rights. Then log out and login with your newly created user. Now you can delete the admin user completely.

We’ve not tested that ourselves so cannot guarantee it, however it should be fine. If an issue does arise, we ask that you contact the plugin developer to see if it is a known issue with themes and if there is a resolution. And you can post on our support forum with any details and we can check it out and see if we can resolve it. A majority of the time it is something minor that can be changed.

Yes the page title bar can easily be removed with one setting.
The demo uses contact form 7, but you could also use a mailchimp widget there.

That’s great! I’d really want to buy this theme. My only thing is the newsletter as you don’t have a newsletter element ready in the theme. I have no coding experience whatsoever. I’ve tried to fidget with the mailchimp forms, but they look awful and very unprofessional when i do it.
Could you show me an example of what exactly the mailchimp plugin email collector would look like with your theme? Would you able to help me with adding the correct code in the website?
Are you planning on bringing a newsletter subscription signup forms as a feature anytime soon to your theme?

To clarify, i would need the newsletter collector to be anywhere i need to put it. In articles (mid text, end of the article, below the feature picture), website footer, sidebar, below the header etc….so a mailchimp widget probably won’t be the best bet for this, if it’s only meant for the sidebar.

We’d recommend using this with the Contact Form 7 plugin: contact form 7 mailchimp groups This way you can setup mailchimp with it and the form will keep the Avada styles, so it will look like the forms you see on our demos. We do not have a live example of that at this time, and yes we do plan on adding a built in newsletter widget to work with all major services. But I cannot say exactly when that would be.
But if you use the free Contact Form 7 plugin and that extensions, it should be easy to setup and look as you need.

I´m thinking of buying this theme but I need to know first if there is a way of fixing what many people ask you. That is to remove or change “portfolio_category” from urls. That´s no good for SEO and I see you are not giving a solution to this up to now. Some of the plugins you recommend to fix this don´t function. Do you have a solutions or do you have the intention to fix it? Thanks.

I can’t see how those permalinks could be an issue for SEO. But for now you could adjust the slugs in just one file to change the name. And in one of our next versions, we will include option to have custom slugs for cats/skills/tags.

It´s an issue for SEO according to Woorank. I´m really very willing to buy the theme but I need to be sure of this. When you say “you could adjust the slugs in just one file to change the name..” you don´t refer to the GENERAL PORTFOLIO OPTIONS, PORTFOLIO SLUG, don´t you? Because that´s not the solution as I´ve read in some threads. Thanks

Technically speaking, the preference generally are hyphens over underscores, as proposed by Matt Cutts from Google, but what needs to also be noted is that underscores and hyphens are not algorithmically penalized either -> http://bit.ly/1JcpSzF – http://bit.ly/1epP6hx
The other thing to note is that, besides not being penalized for the underscore, many other factors like page rank, tiles, content etc etc that determine indexing for the SERP’s. One example of many is that WikiPedia relies on underscores in their URL’s -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360 and this does not prevent their SERP results from holding top tier
The bottom line is this, you are not penalized or sandboxed for this and changing it is not a critical priority as a site owner, in consideration of a solid and effective SEO roadmap.
As stated previously, we will be including options to adjust the slugs via the options panel at some point in the near future

Ok, I don´t say google will penalize the site, but today Google says that it´s recommended to use hyphens instead of underscores https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/76329?hl=en (the article you cite is from 2005) and it is true that today SEO is one of the key factors for a web page. Each factor counts. Nevertheless thanks for the talk. It´s been interesting.
