Can you please tell me how I can do the following:
Stop metadata, date and blog category from being displayed on blog thumbnails on the Blog posts page
Remove the bar at the bottom of single blog post pages that contains the Share button, categories & comments
I am also having trouble getting my logo in the header. I have uploaded it in the Logo & General Styling section of the options panel, but it does not show in the header.

1.) How can I add an overlay to a header image the page settings at the bottom AND how can I do the same for an image/video used in a nectar slider? Would like to play around with visibility of the slider or header text because images/videos use lighter colors are tough to see.
2.) Can I add some sort of slight blended/darkened outer glow behind just the TEXT to make it pop a little better on the header settings at the bottom of a page or within nectar settings somehow? Something similar to the overlay option you’ve included for the subtitle, but also for the title as well and not such a hard rectangle, something more blended and transparent?
2.) How can I change or control the font of the page submenu items either within salient settings or w/css? Would like to customize font, letter spacing or item spacing between each entry as they’re very packed in, and change color of the active subpage.
3.) I see the option to change the testimonial font settings in the salient settings, but no matter what I do, I can’t get the font size or spacing settings to change. I’ve enabled the “Load Ext. Characters in Default Font” setting as well. Tried toggling and refreshing.
4.) Lastly, what is the best way to add more of a quick bio/sentence or two to the current team members page I have imported? Obviously possible by adding text below the photos, but is it possible with a mouse hover so I can keep the clean look?

Hey again! I am having a problem with WooCommerce product thumbnails. Because of different cover-photos, in catalogue product thumbnails have different height (ex. http://www.akcesoria-kempingowe.pl/kategoria-produktu/klimatyzacja/). Is it possible to make them be pure square, like 300×300? I mean to add space for pictures with height less than 300px
I tried WC/Settings -> Thumbnail height/width, then regenerated thumbnails, but it worked only partially. Thanks in advance for support

If you’re uploading images that don’t meet the minimum requirements for the dimensions you have set unfortunately there’s no easy way to have those cases stretched to fill the area without some custom modding – you could do something a bit more dirty like this (add this into your custom css box located in your Salient Options panel)

What pixel size/ratio should the portfolio featured images be sized to? We are using the meta on hover + entire thumb link or the meta from bottom on hover + entire thumb link.
So far the best we’ve found is 600px x 313px. It seems to fill the crop but does squish the image width wise. Also, that’s not ideal because if we make it a lightbox the pop up image is only 600px wide and looks small. We’ve also tried doubling that to 1200px x 626px but then it doesn’t fill it width wise…

These updates are killing me man….. I’m not getting emails. . . AGAIN. . . I’m losing money. . . . AGAIN because no one can contact me on my site. . . . I’ve had 3 friends send me emails and nothing is showing up.
Annd now Visual Composure won’t give me the time or day after reading your instructions step by step.
I delete Visual composure with hopes that reinstalling the plugin will install 4.10 but it doesn’t. . . . It keeps installing 4.9.2. . . I’m really REALLY at a lossl here because my business is always effected by this.
So 2 things please. . .
1- Fix Visual Composure so we can all just click the darn thing and be done with it. I don’t know why you’re releasing updates with bugs like this man. I’ve wasted hours of time again trying to figure out why my contact form every time I update just decides to stop working. . . there are no updates for contact form 7 which is completely up to date.
I'm seriously considering just not using this them anymore because I feel like I have to babysit and see what broke on my site. All my 3rd party plugins are up to date and is not the issue.And now after half of the update is complete I now have broken pages.

I can’t keep trying to figure this out man. I find it really disappointing that after each update I have to read a list of broken files from woo commerce and have the site worse off than it was before the update.
If this can’t be fixed then I’d like a refund for the theme as I no longer want to go through the headache and the hours trying to figure something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

There was a note included inside of the theme download that explains how to update from 4.9.2 “If you’re upgrading from Salient VC 4.9.2, you’ll need to delete the plugin from your plugins section in the WordPress admin panel before installing the current version (4.10) in Appearance > Install Plugins – This is necessary due to a bug in the Salient VC 4.9.2 which prevents regular updating.”
1b. Salient has nothing to do with you not receiving emails since there’s no mail functionality built in – it simply provides styling for input fields and allows you to choose your own plugin to best suit your needs. Contact form 7 is recommended because it’s simple and free – Your contact form 7 is showing misconfiguration. http://i.imgur.com/L6WSWPG.jpg even if you changed themes you’d be faced with the same issue until the forms are configured properly and/or whatever server settings that preventing mail is fixed from your hosting company. 2. Looking at your WooCommerce template overrides none are showing as outdated/broken http://i.imgur.com/5amFv8O.jpg the errors you’ve listed above seem to be from the other folders getting imported that are bundled inside of the download form themeforest, only the salient.zip needs to uploaded https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202821510 – you can delete those other folders.
Thanks for that information Phectar. It’s just really frustrating to update the site and have certain functionalities stop working. I honestly don’t do anything with the theme other than updating it and adding artwork.

Hey – when switching to the parent theme the menu issue resolves, you’ll need to update your child theme structure in the footer.php to match the current structure
I actually did do that, please see my latest updates to the ticket. I narrowed the issue of the mobile header hyperlinking to the homepage / the nav toggle not working as expected down to a theme options setting. (Ticket #698091). I provided quite a few screenshots/some code output for you guys to look at.

Weird problem that I don’t really know how to explain. On certain elements in the visual composer I had it set up so there was space between image galleries and headings. When I open a page, the spacing is off and the header is really close to the image gallery. Once I refresh the page however, the space reverts to normal. People who visit the site won’t know to refresh the page. How do I get the page to display how it would normally?

Firstly – I still love the theme. As a non-web designer, it took me a few weeks last year to get my head around all the various bits and work out how to put together a site I was happy with. The Nectar Slider was integral to that.
Since being told I have to upgrade in order to stop all my Nectar Slider images showing on each slider I want to use, it’s been a disaster – so many things have been messed up by the new version… and I haven’t got the time now to spend weeks working out how to alter things back to how they were.
All I want (pleaseee) is the abiiity to have certain pages showing certain categories of slides, not them all – as before. Please tell me there is an easy way to fix this, for someone who’s reverted back to the old version of Salient in desperation!
My support has just run out and I’m considering not renewing. Really disappointed if this function has been removed from old versions. It was working perfectly…

I’m glad to hear you’ve enjoyed using the theme
1. The function was not removed from older versions of the theme, it stopped working when WP 4.4 came out, however if older versions of WP are used with an outdated Salient theme, the slider will still work
2. Are you using a child theme with file modifications? If not, upgrading to a current Salient release should pose no issues – could you kindly let me know specifically what happened when you updated ? If you don’t want to upgrade again for whatever reason, I could list what mods you’ll need to make to your current Salient theme in order to get it to work with WP 4.4+ though

So as you can see…
- The font/font size of my header navigation menu text was lost (no matter how much I played with every setting in typography!). I just want it the same as now.
- The portfolio section in the middle of the homepage would not fit the screen properly. When I tried playing with this, the images were also blown up in size with huge font and stacking 3-3-2. Again, I just wanted them the same as now!
- The footer widgets were lost as you can see.
- The bottom section (including footer) was all centralised, i.e. not using the full width of the page. The copyright line was also dropping onto a second line.
- On other individual pages, all the text I’ve written was blown up in size and fitted into the middle section of the page (again not full width) – creating a messy layout. All my pictures from the right hand side also appear at the bottom.
Can you help? Or do you recommend reverting back to the old Wordpress?

It looks like your theme styles are not getting written – if you’re using the ” Move Dynamic/Custom CSS Into External Stylesheet” option (located in the general settings > CSS/script related section of your options panel, try turning that off and clicking save changes again. Also, from the looks of your screenshot the Salient Visual Composer doesn’t appear to be active – make sure you install and activate it in the Appearance > install plugins section of your admin panel

1. Even though the Salient Visual Composer plug in has been updated and activated in Plug Ins, I’m still having issues with having the Nectar Slider next to my Portfolio on the homepage. 2. How do I make the text that appears within Nectar Buttons bold? Also the footer headings too? I can’t seem to sort it by changing the “Sidebar, Carousel, Nectar Button & Footer Headers Font” in Typography to bold. Nothing happens!
3. For Portfolio, I love the “Title overlaid with zoom effect on hover” setting. However, there’s no zoom since I updated! The images are static. Previously they used to wiggle around when you hovered over them! Anyway to get that back?
4. How can you change the font colour of text within the “Separator with Text” element?
Any help appreciated please!

Also, I changed the general background colour (not header) to black when it wasn’t meant to be I’ve changed it back to the default in General Settings but nothing has changed…
Issues 1&3 are tied to the same problem – when you updated are you sure you deleted the old theme prior to uploading the new? It appears your shortcode-processing.php file is not current as the portfolio shortcode is missing something it needs to function right (which is breaking the nectar slider loading as well)

Brilliant – thank you. I have updated the shortcode-processing.php file which has updated problems 1 and 3! Problem 4 has also been sorted thanks to your code.
The only problem I still have is with the fonts on Slides and Nectar Buttons. Also the footer headings. I can’t seem to change them in Typography but have opened a ticket for these.
