Hello, I just updated Salient theme to the last version and I have a two problems:
1. Problem with social media buttons – They dont’ show up on a blog pages, on the footer and on single product page. Sample: http://www.pictoores.com/product/metal-dark-background-17/
What should I do to fix it?
2. In woocommerce, on shop page I have different products: vertical and horizontal images. For now there are a big uneven vertical spaces between them and it doesn’t look good. Sample: http://www.pictoores.com/shop/ . Is there possibility to use on this page masonry grid style, just like on the blog page? If yes, how to do it?

1. You need to update to the current version which was just release 6.1.7 in order to get the new social media functionality which handles twitters change in api
2. Unfortunately there’s no masonry option for the shop yet but this is an item on the wishlist

2. Can you tell us /I know it’s not simple , but it’s important for many of customers/ when more less masonry option could be available? People like me, having different sizes of images have a big problem with shop layout for now… it just doesn’t look good, and we don’t know what to do…

1. Have you ensured that no plugins you have active are causing this?
2. It will most likely become an option in the next WooCommerce focused update but there’s no eta for this at this time. In the meantime you might be able to find a plugin in regards
Is there any change in Masonry Layout for Woocommerce? I found plugin for WC but unfortunatelly it doesn’t work in every options (f.e. it doesn’t work with “search results” :((( ). So the one solution could be Salient Masonry Layout for WooCommerce…

First question in forever!!! I have just installed Tickera – this uses custom post type to make “events”. I’d like to add a VC block on the home page, with a grid of events, just like blog posts etc. Given that VC is your custom version, and there is no Grid Post block (like in standard VC) how do you recommend I acheive this? Unfortunately tickera doesnt have a shortcode for a list /grid view, so need to pull it in as a custom post! I could possibly use essential grid, but dont know if that works with your version of VC! thanks mate!

You’d need to either use the raw VC or another plugin of sorts – I haven’t personally tested with essential grid but can’t see why it wouldn’t work

I am using Salient on a website with bbPress and I’d like to add more buttons to the tinymce text editor for when they post and reply. What file do I need to edit to enable more controls? Or do you have another suggestion? I am trying the TinyMCE Advanced plugin, but it’s not working propely.

Hello, when I use two columns layout, if the width of the page is not enough, the right column will go to the end of the page (like in every mobile for example. I don’t want this to happen, I prefer to have the user looking at the entire page, just like it is. Probably in a smaller size, but the same layout. How can I do that?

Challenge: when a user clicks the slidewidgetarea button and the sidewidget slides out, we are finding that the users sometimes do not know how to exist or close the area after they open it.
Is there a way to do the follow?
a) enable a feature that closes the slidewidgetarea when the users clicks outside the slideout area in the darker shaded space?
b) place a Close Sidebar button with in the sidewidget area?

I recommend WPML for multi lingual setups but haven’t tested with calculated contact forms – I can’t see why it wouldn’t work though

BUG – All Social Counts have been reset.
Not sure if this is due to Twitter removing their count endpoints, but all other social counts are also reset in this theme. Seems there may be an error once Twitter fails, knocking the rest off too.
Tested and I’m correct. If you enable social sharing but leave Twitter unticked, all other services show counts correctly. Enable Twitter, and they all show 0.

In Google webmaster tools I’m getting the errors for all of my posts which is effecting my SEO.
In the structured data the problems are outlined as hcard ( Missing: fn) and hentry (Missing: author Missing: entry-title Missing: updated) errors for all posts.
When researching into this various sources tell me its an issue with the theme for instance: http://kb.yoast.com/article/184-fixing-hcard-author-error

I know my final issue here before I can launch isn’t a native part of your theme, but it’s really critical I get this straightened out and you’re really smart so figured I would reach out to see if you have any good tips for me. I’m using a plugin called DW Promobar (reached out to them, no support) to create a countdown bar at the top of my page.
Unfortunately DW Promobar isn’t recognizing the top menu navigation at all, so it simply overlaps it (example here: http://postimg.org/image/a2qpr0hcr/), making the essential plugin unusable. It doesn’t seem like the DW Promobar settings are recognizing the Salient menu (see “push page down” here: http://postimg.org/image/k703iq5wp/). Don’t know if there’s a better solution, but I’m thinking maybe I could just add special code to Salient to push the top navigation bar down a little bit? Maybe like the 15-20 pixels that the DW Promobar extends down? Also not sure what that would do on mobile/if I could just hide the promobar completely on mobile.
Any advice you can give would be much appreciate! For reference, my site is http://seasonalmaine.com/. When you visit the site and toggle the top bar on/off using the arrow on the right you can see that it is pushing the rest of the site down, just not the menu itself – bummer

This is seriously the best supported theme I have used here on themeforest, also happens to be the prettiest, haha. You just supported something that you didn’t even build! Thank you so much and well done. That code works and it looks great on desktop.
1. Removing gap on mobile The DW promobar takes up too much space on mobile, so I’m not hiding it via their settings here (http://postimg.org/image/xx3bii8jd/). To also remove the gap above my menu on mobile, I think I just figured out my first media query! Tested and code here (http://postimg.org/image/z0b15a9qt/) looks good but please confirm this looks good to you.
2. Text size on mobile I’m having a little difficulty with my beautiful multi-layer parallax on mobile (not the layers – just the text)! See screenshot here (http://postimg.org/image/4dm6qbyzz/) – the word “vacationland” is just stretching off the screen – how can I make the text here small enough on mobile so that “vacationland” doesn’t run off the screen and doesn’t run on to the next line? I’m using this style for “vacationland in a box” right now (http://postimg.org/image/t6dvm7uax/). Love how it looks on desktop.
3. Anchor linking from DW promobar Should land in this location (like it does from “Buy” in menu, with “Annual Subscription” visible: http://postimg.org/image/t7ao970e1/) but it looks like this when clicked from the DW promobar (pushes down too far because the promobar doesn’t recognize the header: http://postimg.org/image/d6ng7mwr5/). Any ideas on this one? I tried adding a different anchor link to the element above for just the DW promobar link (like here: http://postimg.org/image/71dzdket9/) but couldn’t get it to do anything. This is relatively minor compared to other stuff here so no worries!

I have a business plan based around an events and listings site for my city and am considering Salient as the main vehicle for the site to be based around.
I have close to zero tech skills (have only done a basic WP blog before), but have enthusiasm to apply myself and confidence in my basic plan.
A) I will certainly need lots of help in the set-up and maintenance which looks like it can come from here, but if/when I need urgent immediate tech support – site crashed in run-up to big event etc – what help is available?
I need to know if Salient is suitable for my plan – please can you respond to the numbered questions listed:
This is a brief list of what I want the site to be able to do. Can you please advise if Salient can fulfil each of these requirements as it is, and if plugins (which are possible / recommended?) may be required. (This will be a UK business, if that makes an important difference).
Site Requirements:
1) Categories of events (film, music etc), some featured with reviews, in some kind of calendar format, allowing people to search by category and day / week / month, as well as by each venue. YES / NO / PLUGIN?
2) Categories of other local listings (businesses, sports clubs, restaurants, etc) some featured with reviews. YES / NO / PLUGIN?

Unfortunately, I am experiencing the exactly same situation as user “Liyte” above.
I am running multiple separate sites using the Salient theme and this problem is occurring for each one.
“I’m working on my site and I’m finding that any mobile OS is having an incredibly hard time loading my site, and actually doesn’t load at all… I’ve tested the theme on a few of my sites to see and it does’t seem to be working… What’s the fix?”
- Resolution – Disabling Page Transitions seems to have corrected this.
