Could you guys please fix the envato updater issue. The Valenti theme never updates automatically when I press the update button. It always rejects it. The only way I can update it is if I create a staging site. This takes too much time. Something is not right with how the updates are being packaged because they should update automatically when the button is pressed.
As always, I really like this theme. I am not having any other issues and am not looking for personal support. Just thought you guys should know about the update problem.

Thanks for letting me know, but can you elaborate a bit on which updater you mean, because there are two now and one is officially been retired (Envato WordPress Toolkit).
Envato creates the plugins, the theme simply recommends users install them, so I’m afraid I have no control over how well the plugins work. But the latest plugin they created (Envato Market) seems like it should work well. Is that the one you’re having issues with?

When you activate Valenti, you should see a notification recommending to install the “Envato Market” plugin? Do you not see it? Or did you possibly dismiss it? You can download it from here: http://envato.github.io/wp-envato-market/

Yes, I only had Envato Toolkit Updater. It wasn’t working and I think that was the one that you told me was old so I never got the new one until you gave me the link. Thanks by the way, it worked great.

I am considering your theme for purchase. I need two menu bars however. I need one at the very top and then my logo image and then the second menu bar below. Is it possible to add another menu bar to the top of the theme. Thanks.
Just to be clear, I need a top menu bar, which if it was in your demo for example, it would be above the VALENTI logo and then the second menu bar below which is already in your theme. Other question is can I control the menu bar font size with CSS? Thanks.

Yes, you can choose where the secondary menu goes, it can go underneath (demo site) or go at the very top (above logo area). It’s an option in the theme options.

Have you got bbPress to use a sidebar? Because no sidebar is outputting and it looks like you have it disabled.
Regarding the main menu, you can change the skin to be the dark version for the mobile menu style. And to make it bigger try copy/paste this css into your custom css box in the theme options:
#cb-nav-logo img { max-height: 40px; }

AdSense ads are inserted by pasting the embed code that Google gives you, and wherever you paste it, it will output, so even though some themes may claim “AdSense compatible”, the truth is that that is just marketing, because you can use AdSense on any theme that uses WordPress sidebar system, as you can insert a basic text widget in the sidebar and insert your ad.
In Valenti, you can put ads in the sidebars, footer widget areas, header (opposite logo), in category/tag pages, end of post, and pretty much anywhere where you see a demo ad banner in the demo site.

I had a look and your homepage is set to a page now using the homepage builder (So in settings > Reading it’s set to a custom page), so the latest posts can be displayed by using the “Latest posts with pagination” block, and it seems like you’ve done that already. So is everything is okay now?

1) Does you theme support Gravity forms?..I want to sell tickets which comes with multiple options to a product, for ex : Adults – 3 People (costs 3100=300) Child – 2 kids (costs 250=100)

Thanks for the interest in Valenti, but I’m afraid I have never used or tested Gravity Forms, so I can’t say for certain if it works in Valenti or not. The theme doesn’t have any special code targeting Gravity Forms, so if the plugin needs some, you would have to add it.

Hello hello! I’m back again Quick question regarding the review function. This actually might be less of a short question, but I’m building a large data infrastructure as part of my site. I will be integrating a Facebook login to collect user data, and I would also like to be able to tie that user data to reviews one the site. If that is not directly possible I want to know if that review data is available as well… and if so where it is stored. I hope this makes sense! I can always send an email if this is a little more complex for the comments section.

That sounds really interesting, but definitely quite complex! The review data is all stored as meta data (custom field) inside each post, and to integrate it with something like that you will definitely need to hire a developer to help you write new/customize code to make that all happen, try checking out Envato Studio (run by Themeforest company), good luck with it

Any way you can add other instagram and facebook link options for the author section? I’d like to replace the mail and google+ options for instagram and Facebook.

Thanks for choosing Valenti. Thanks for the suggestion, I may consider it for future updates. But until (and if) that happens, the only way is to edit the theme code. All you need to do is edit the google+ img code line and replace it with Instagram icon, and then even though the option says “google+” it won’t matter because the icon will be Instagram and the url you put also Instagram, so it will look as expected on the frontend.

Hi, Awesome theme! I have set the Valenti Megamenu: Featured/Random + Recent Posts on both my post and the post category, however once I hover on the category menu, I can’t see anything. Once I change the menu to “Valenti Megamenu: Slider” it works just fine.

All that stuff (email content, url of redirection, etc) are 100% controlled by WordPress and login with ajax, the theme doesn’t really set it! For email content I’d recommend using another plugin to control it, such as this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-better-emails/

I am using your theme for a long time and now (after my support ended a few days ago) I found out, that the user rating won’t work with cache plugins. If I disable the cache plugin and a user clicks a rating on one page he can’t rate on another page with a review. Everywhere the message “You have already rated” is shown. Will there be an update to remove this bugs?

Thanks for choosing Valenti, the theme demo site does have a cache plugin installed with no problems (w3 total cache), so it is likely the issue is your site’s Javascript is getting broken by something such as a plugin (could still be cache plugin if it is setup improperly). Try installing W3 Total cache and it should work out of the box.

I’ve been hunting for a mag theme and I came across this one. All I can say is wow! This is great!
So, interest question:
I have self-hosted videos and would like to know if I can make them display like how the youtube videos display – full width and at the top?
If that’s not possible, is there a way to do that? I don’t mind editing .php if I’m given steps to implement.

The theme doesn’t have an option for self-hosted videos, and the reason for this is that HTML5 Video is still not well implemented – It’s got bad cross-browser compatiblity (browsers require different formats to play the same video) and there is licensing issues with codecs. You can read more about all this here: diveinto.html5doctor.com/video.html
However, the video option in the theme is an input box inside the post, so technically if you have a self-hosted video plugin that gives you a shortcode or embed code to use, you can insert it there too. I found this free plugin that may be what you are after: https://wordpress.org/plugins/videojs-html5-video-player-for-wordpress/ try installing that on the default WordPress theme (twentysixteen) and if it outputs and works as you want, you can output that embed where youtube videos appear in the demo too.

Perhaps it won’t be a problem because I do you use FV Flowplayer.
I was just making sure there was an option to place the video above the content if I chose to. I’m sure there is already an option to place in the content area.
So in other words, as long as I use a video plugin I’m ok?
I know what you mean regarding browser compatibility, but luckily flowplayer works great on all the major browsers. That includes responsiveness, sharing capabilities, full-screen, etc.

Side note: I wonder if you can download a copy of FV Flowplayer to test it to see if we have a winner?

Ah I see, then it should be fine! If the plugin gives you embed code or a shortcode (probably easier with a shortcode), then you can simply copy/paste it in the option box for video, and it will execute/output as expected. I’m pretty sure it’ll work fine, and if it doesn’t share the url and I’ll do my best to help out

Your theme is beautiful! I’m a photographer. I need to upload a lot of photos. Your subject of a photograph creates 18 copies of different sizes. And it takes a lot of space on the server. Is it possible to reduce the number of the copies? Is it possible to make so that it was no more than two copies? I did not find in the documentation how to do this. Thank you!

Also wondering how easy the site is to edit for non technical users? I am used to visual composer, does it have something similar to that? Would it be possible for non-technical users to create tables as well?

The theme was created very logically in the backend and if you search through these comments you’ll find countless people saying how easy they found the theme to use (even WordPress novices).
The theme does not use Visual Composer, as I am not a fan of it, in my opinion it is bloatware and completely unnecessary. Everything you see in the demo site is done with native WordPress options and some clever usage of those native options by the theme
Regarding tables, if you mean HTML tables, I wouldn’t recommend using them as they are not responsive by nature. Depending on what exactly you want to display, there are lots of free lightweight plugins that you can install and use. And then because it’s in a plugin, if you ever change themes in the future, the tables will continue working as long as you keep the plugin.

Hi, just wondering if it is possible to display different categories of posts in different sections on the homepage – for example of I had a “News” category and an “Events” category, could I list posts for each category in separate sections? Also will I be able to add plugins and display those on the homepage – for example I would like to add a calendar plugin and also a forum plugin and perhaps display latest posts on the homepage….

Check this video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pt1BGEhquCY it shows the homepage builder in action, and as you can see you can set any module to show any category/tag you want. In Valenti v5.2 update, the modules can now also display custom post types (such as WooCommerce or events). And there are also custom code modules where you can insert any shortcode/custom code you want, so any plugin that gives you a shortcode, can be outputted anywhere you want on the homepage too.

Now I’m just going to be a pain, but I can’t help it, this theme is too freakin’ good! Is it possible to change the line color associated with each section, while having them menu color different? For example, If I change my global color the menu color and the accent lines will change on the section heads: Essentially, I’m asking if I can make my menu color one color, and my lines (in the sections heads) a different color.

It’s okay, you’re not a pain! But I am afraid that isn’t possible, the theme was designed (and coded) to work that way, so in this instance it isn’t possible to do that without heavily editing code!
