Hi there,
My phpbb forum is currently on version 3.0.12 and I want to upgrade to 3.1.9 (the latest version). I am a first time forum owner and fairly new to this but know how to follow instructions. I read that if I upgrade to 3.1.9 there is a good chance I will lose my theme. How can I upgrade phpbb to 3.1.9 and make sure that my theme stays in tact. I fear that in the process I’ll do something wrong and lose all of the actual content on my forums. Do you have any instructions for this task?

The point is that themes for 3.0 and 3.1 differ much. You can’t just take 3.0 version and install it on 3.1. Unfortunately you’ll need to perform a clean install of 3.1 theme and then manually move all style changes (if you had any) to it As for the actual content of you forum (threads, posts etc) you can’t lose anything just setting a new theme. hi – I purchased a copy long ago but did not use it – now we are thinking of making a forum and I checked for a new download and found out that you implemented all this dangerous google-stuff, fonts and jquery-library etc … for Wordpress its simple to block google-fonts with special widgets but how to get rid of it here? I do not allow any extern hosted scripts or fonts on my server, it must be safe and all self-hosted – is it possible to get that google-stuff out ? thanks and greetings

All the instructions can be found inside the theme’s pack. It’s fully described there how to install the theme. Just follow all the steps carefully and you’ll get it installed. And pay attention to the theme version you’re trying to install – phpBB 3.0.* and phpBB 3.1 are not compatible, you need to choose the proper version for you phpBB installation.
hello i am trying to upload the theme colour varation as in your instructions but this is not working. is the file i need to upload called style.cfg ? where does this go in the file manager i have tried uploading to styles and there is already one there called prosilver. but this is not working.

How can I change to display column with author avatars etc. on the left instead of the right?
Will you be able to advise if I can add an additional box to the forum header, which would say “Home” to allow users to navigate from forum back to website’s home page, or perphaps, you have a better solution for this? Question on your latest update if I may I think V2.0.6 Can I simply upload my colour scheme and overwrite what’s already there, or do i need to delete all current schemes and start over?

All the changed files are listed in the update list (a link can be found at the bottom of the theme description page). We didn’t change any css-files this time so your color scheme won’t be afftected in any way. As for the changed files – you can simply upload them to your style folder and rewrite the older ones.

The problem is forums have different logos. Width and height differ much. We can’t set a single css rule for a 100px width logo and 500px width. This common rule can make a logo look ugly. So we just added this tutorial for better customization.

I have purchased your theme some time ago, but only now managed to install it. The delay was because I couldn’t get my board upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1 version.
I am quite pleased with your theme, I must admit, and I am quite impreseed that itb even supports Ukrainian language on which my board is running.
However, I need one little help.
I noticed that on the board’s header, MCP, ACP and FAQ titles do not fit into their boxes when written in Ukrainian.

Where do I go to rename these titles? What file (and in which directory)?

Thank you for your good words! We are glad you like our work.
As for your issue, I think you have two options. First – just as you want to rename the titles. You’ll need to edit your language file for that. It’s here – /languages/uk/common.php. Open it with a plain-text editor, find and rename your titles. Secondly you can decrease the font size inside the menu tabs via editing the css-styles. If you don’t know how to edit css, please contact us via our profile page, we’ll send you instructions.

Hello, I wonder if you can help with this? I’m using latest Metro on 3.1.8 with phpbb Directory Extension. I have it all working OK but would like to use a tab Icon for Directory. At present I’m using the .svg icon from quicklinks tab. Can you help with an .svg file for my image? I’ve tried the online converters, but they won’t work. Thanks Glenn

how can i edit the link-name of the quicklinks. in german it’s called “Schnellzugriff” but the word is too long and goes out of the box see findyourchallenge.de
also it doesnt work to add a custom link
or it seems, that it just takes a while until the changes apply, although im emptying the cache etc

I have bought the Metro theme for PHPBB and I want to translate the buttons. You have included a PSD which contains all the buttons(called buttons_en.psd) but in the file there’s an issue with the PM button(s). They aren’t available as type(probably converted to object in Illustrator). I want to change the text of the PM button but it’s an object so I can’t modify the text. Can you send a PSD which has the button available as editable text?
