Hey I just installed wordpress on my Cpanel and now am trying to get this theme to work.. Is there anyone who can give me step by step instructions on how to load the theme and put the license in? Sorry if this is a really basic question just new to this site building thing .. Cheers !

I reinstalled the FeedWordPress and activated it and it works (does not mess up my homepage). But when I click import feeds and add source the homepage columns is all messy again!
Do you have a solution?

I think the post on your feed have some extra layout elements that break the homepage columns.
Maybe you can try import another feeds then have a try.

But I was wondering, how do I set the slideshow items in order (1,2,3,4 – to be displayed in that order) in Accordion slider?
Problem is that as of right now, I have a picture with some Welcome text beneith it, but it’s the last picture in the row :/

Deactivated FeedWordPress and everything is OK. Activated all other plugins except FeedWordPress and its OK

2 questions:
1/ Is this theme 100% compatible with wpml? Meaning, can I make the frontend in several languages and will all sections (widgets, modules, navigation, portfolio items, etc) be 100% translatable through the backend?
2/ Is the backend white labeled? Meaning, will it herit the theme name I give it or will there be everywhere “striking”?

You can change striking to another name.
Just edit on ‘striking/functions.php’ file.

I love the template, but i came over a problem when I installed FeedWordPress (simple and flexible Atom/RSS syndication for WordPress)
When I installed the FeedWordPress my one_fifth column setup on my frontpage does not work. When I deactivate the plugin it works great.
I really need a RSS /ATOM plugin that automatically makes post out of atom feeds.

Hi Arnoud,
You can go to striking->general options page to enable navigation button style. Then go to ‘striking->color options page to customize the color.
Or you may edit on ‘striking/css/screen.css’
Locate line 1776-1860, you will see Navigation css code.
Change the css style to your want.

I deactivated plugins, and it works now, but only on the home-page, therefore I went to Striking > homepage: layout (right sidebar). But I can’t manage the widgets to show up elsewhere, let’s say on another page.
Can you give me your page link?
Do you use the widgets on ‘Page Widget Area’ or ‘Blog Widget Area’ ?

Because the ‘Page Widget Area’ or ‘Blog Widget Area didn’t work, I made a new one in the Striking Sidebar. That then showed up in Appearance > Widgets, and there I then dragged the “Striking advertisement” into the newly made sidebar. Under each page I could then select my custom made sidebar. This sidebar should then be placed at the right side of the page. By going to Striking > Homepage: layout (right sidebar) it all worked out for the Homepage. Anyway, I think the issue has to do with the settings of the page template, because it works for the homepage. In my website I only use pages, and no blogs or posts. I assume I should be able to change the setting of a page in the “Striking admin panel”, like I did for the Homepage, but there is no item for Pages. Any suggestions?

Everything I had working a ok on my xampp local host, but since using heart internet server and starting again they appear to have server settings that prevent things working correctly such as uploading your own custom image.
I did do all the things in the troubleshooting and I have made work arounds and almost got everything once again working.
But for some reason the drop down menu on the nav links doesn’t work in my version of firefox 3.6.18 but its strange because it works locally through my own local webserver. Could this really be something releated to my web hosts server settings?

yes it may be I did chmod as in the trouble shooting guide through the hosts own file manager not ftp.
Services should have a drop down it appears to work in ie but not firefox or opera 
Hi I am getting somewhere now I have discovered that all 777chmod is not allowed(disabled) on my servers and my server help files state that 755 should be used where 777 has been and it should always suffice. Can you help indicate which files and folders I need to amend. I have noticed with the file uploading of images its strange it appears nothing uploads but if i open the file through my file manager an image is uploaded but its cropped version of the original
Ok. Progres. I can confirm that images are uploaded along with relevant thumbnail generated to the uploads folder. Though dashboard panel can not display these images, when I click upload the bar just freezes and also when I goto media libary and click show it results in nothing showing.
The reason I may find this relevant is that its underlying problem could be in some way related to the nav menu’s drop down not working in firefox… I’ve had this response from my web host
“I would recommend checking that PHP scripts are set to 644 for their permissions and directories are set to 755”

No I didn’t do this because I am not trying to add any images to my slider at this point. I was simply attempting to add images for use as my website logo and experiecing this problem. My main conercen is that the drop down menu isn’t working. What would make this happen???

I have installed a clean fresh wordpress to a new directory.

Hello, This is a great theme and I’ve been using it on my site for a while now. I was wondering however, if there is an easy way to update to your latest updated version of this theme? I am still using version 2.2.3 and I am getting set to update to the latest version of Wordpress and I have a few plugins that need updating too. So I figured now would be a good time to see about updating the theme as well.

I just went in to edit the colors on my header, and the “colors” tab under “Striking” in Wordpress no longer has any sliders or controls to change color or size. All that appears are lists under headings such as “General Color Setting,” such as “Header Background Color.” In other words, there is nothing but those words, no sliders or controls to change color.
All the other links under “Striking” (e.g., the font menu) are fine, and all the other controls are in place.

I use tabs-shortcode. I’ve got a question about it. When I navigate between tabs my page always goes to the top. For example: I press tab 2, then scroll down and press tab 3. Then my page is going to the top. I don’t like that:) Can you help me?
And something else: is it possible to give each tab a different link?

Like I said, I’ve installed everything the way the instructions tell me. I’ve tried on two different WP installations, and the theme just doesn’t show up in the appearance options at all.
